I think the restraining order is business-oriented, not like John Oates is stalking him or something.

A good rule of thumb is to contact banks, Amazon, etc. directly, looking up their contact information yourself, rather than following the link or phone number in a text.
I'll be taking Thanksgiving and Friday off. I've got a lot of open threads to post, so at least there'll be some pretty pictures and videos. And if there's something big that happens, I might throw up a quick link-and-quote. But otherwise, I'll just be posting open threads and mini-Cafes. -- Ace

CBD and J.J discuss: Censoring TikTok and the question of the 1st Amendment, the educational rot that makes TikTok even more effective, Starbucks' and Anheuser Busch's corporate malfeasance as a measure of our societal decline, Buck Throckmorton's great rant against NOAA lying about the climate, NYC, a judge upholding the Second Amendment rights of a convicted felon, and more!
Meanwhile, "The Marvels" is facing a steep tumble in its second outing. The Marvel Studios production earned $2.8 million on Friday, down a staggering 87% from its opening day last week. It'll be lucky to hit $10 million in its sophomore [weekend] outing. Last spring's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" cinched the Marvel Cinematic Universe superlative for biggest second weekend plummet when it dropped 69.9%. Only a few months later, "The Marvels" seems likely to break that record.

Hefty percentage drop-offs from opening weekends are pretty commonplace among superhero entries, but "The Marvels" also got off to a slow start with a franchise record-low $46.1 million debut. Now, the film is fading quickly in a marketplace that will only get more crowded over the Thanksgiving holiday. Ten-day domestic total will fall around $64 million -- a grim result considering the film's $220 million production budget.

It's more like a $270 million budget. Note that the earlier figure for Friday was boosted for propaganda purposes.
Corrected: I thought they meant the movie would be lucky to make $10 million on Saturday. No, they mean the movie will be lucky to make $10 million for the whole weekend.
SpaceX Successfully Launches Superheavy and Starship Per Bob Zimmerman of Behind the Black:
This rocket was built entirely from private funds. Though SpaceX has a contract with NASA for Starship as a manned lunar lander, SpaceX has spent almost none of that money because its focus is getting the rocket launched, not designed to land on the Moon. Thus, a rocket more powerful than the Saturn-5 but designed from the get-go to be reusable is being built by private American citizens, independent of the government. If that isn't a demonstration of thepower of freedom, I don't know what is.

Ooof: Deadline reports that "Disney/Marvel Studios' The Marvels at 4,030 [total screens] is seeing a second Friday of $3.5M and second weekend of $12.25M (-73%) for a running total by Sunday of $67M." Minus 73%. Nice. Meanwhile the pilgrim-hatted slasher film Thanksgiving made $3 million on Friday night.
