Some good news for a change. Iran releases American held prisoner for 3 years. [Mis. Hum.]
Gay zealots attack Hillary Clinton's claim as having never even been "tempted" to be a lesbian not for being false, but for being... I don't know, insufficiently affirmative and validating of the gay orientation
Bendix, a member of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association told NBC News that she was “disappointed” by Hillary’s answer to the rumors. "It's so frustrating when public figures like Hillary feel the need to dispel lesbian rumors in a way that equates lesbianism or queerness with salaciousness," she claimed.
Bendix clarified that it was Hillary's use of the word "tempted” that really annoyed her, adding that it's unnecessarily "damaging to others." "I think there’s a way to refute untrue ideas about one's own identity without saying something damaging to others," she claimed.

Update your Rules: The only two acceptable answers when asked if you're gay are "You betcha!" or the Russell Ziskey special, "No, but I am willing to learn"

["Boy I'm really pissing off KJL with my Star Trek references, aren't I just a big fat stinker?"]
Why didn't they fact-check this to start with, especially knowing this big fat duffer's lack of any scholarly discipline combined with over-the-top emotional histrionics about Orange Man Bad?

"The Conservative Media" is actually cash-for-commentary. It's unacknowledged, undisclosed, unadmitted paid political advertising, laundered through AEI sometimes, other times direct cash payments for promotion/defenses, and yes, there ought to be a law -- if you're holding yourself out as an independent commentator, you should be required to disclose who's paying you for this "independent commentary."
It would be amusing watching the Washington Examiner and National Review react to such a law.
The C***shed Axis is all in for Mayor Pete
You watch the Usual Suspect's twitter streams and every day it's a new agitation for Mayor Pete Bootieguage. I guess they've decided that Sundown Joe isn't going to make it physically or mentally, so they're recharacterizing another dyed-in-the-wool archprogressive as "The Thinking Man's Conservative" or whatever.
Bleg: Does anyone have a link to Tucker Carlson's show from last night, specifically the segment about AEI being paid to flack for Purdue Pharma?
Recommendation: "Peep Show," available on Amazon and free on Amazon Prime, is a British show plainly inspired by "Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Like Always Sunny, the show features a lot of awful behavior from its main characters and some very touchy subject matter. It's pretty good. A friend told me I had to get through the first four episodes or so before I would like it, but I liked it immediately, personally.
One thing, though: the show is all shot POV and they use very small cameras so that the actors can just put the cameras on their foreheads as they're interacting with their fellow actors. However, small cameras were terrible when the show first started, and you may well be put off by the very ugly and dark and primitive look of the show. It looks cheaper and shabbier than YouTube videos do now.
They did start using better cameras in season two, so if you can ignore the first season's very shoddy look, you'll be fine.
BTW, the stars of the show are these guys.
Here's a clip. The set-up is that the character has just read a book on the Battle of Stalingrad, and, like me, he now never shuts up about it, because he doesn't read many books. So now everything is just an excuse to drop some Fun Facts about Stalingrad and "the 'macht."
Someone linked David French's "French Press" column, and I wondered what a French Press was. Googling for a few minutes, I found this likely definition:
The French Press (La Presse Francaise) is a sex act in which a husband permits his wife to be held aloft by a strapping young stud. The wife (or other penetrated party) is thence raised and lowered on to the penetrating member.
Yeah that tracks. Thanks, Internet!!!
LOL, Presse Francaise
