Norm Macdonald talks about the real "bravery" of fighting cancer alone, without burdening others with it
He frequently mentioned this Richard Farnsworth actor, who appeared in The Straight Story. Farnsworth had terminal cancer but never told anyone about it. We now see why he was so frequently on Norm's mind.
In his last standup special, Norm made a joke about cancer which no one realized was about his own looming death.
Norm Macdonald talking about his upcoming puppet act
Not as funny as I'd hoped. Premise 10, execution 7. In fairness, it seems like he just made this up off-the-cuff and then was surprised when he was later asked about it, so he just made up some more stuff off-the-cuff.
Meanwhile, the True Conservatives at National Review are, as usual, standing athwart the actual conservative movement yelling "Stop!" at it
They just love speech-policing those on the right, while making excuses for their friends, allies, and side-pieces on the left.
From commenter "Hogmartin," whose speech is clearly violence!
I'd give my eye teeth for that "Tax The Rich" dress!

PlutoTV currently has seasons 2 and 3 of Norm Macdonald Live on demand, as well as his great Netflix special, "Me Doing Standup." Just search for norm macdonald.
Norm Macdonald reading jokes on his show
One of his best bits was always forcing his co-host Adam to read the very, very worst jokes, and then making Adam sit there in embarrassed silence after the joke died

Non-Forgotten 80s Mystery Click plus explanation of idiom
Here's the intro to that song
I realized one lyric of this 80s gem is "Catch as catch can," which I always misheard as... "Etch a sketch." And then I realized I didn't actually know what "catch as catch can" means.
It means "to do something by any means possible, and often haphazardly."
By any method that can be used; without any specific plan or order. Variants of this term go back as far as the fourteenth century ("Was none in sight but cacche who that cacche might," John Gower, ca. 1394) and appeared in John Heywood's 1546 collection of proverbs ("Catch that catch may"). More specifically, it is the name of both a children's game and a style of wrestling (also called freestyle) in which the wrestlers may get a hold on each other anyhow and anywhere.

Super-cheesy. No hint. Okay, one hint: "And him."
National Review is letting out-and-proud liberal Democrat propagandist Jonah Goldberg write for them again. And the article they choose for this occasion? Jonah arguing that the unvaccinated are the reason for (and the justification for) Biden declaring fascism.
Sounds an awful lot like "The Jews are responsible for Hitler, you know. They brought Hitler down on themselves."
Remember, whenever you point out that these people take a lot -- a LOT -- of leftwing positions on social issues, they always claim they're merely "libertarian." But this is a strange sort of libertarianism -- what with constantly justifying and defending the most egregious assertions of state power over individual decisions. This "libertarianism," in fact, is indistinguishable from the statist, authoritarian left-liberalism preferred by these "liberarians'" swell New York Cocktail Party Chums.
Do you National Review defenders defend this, too? What would it take, exactly, for you to admit National Review is a neoliberal Deep State Fanzine?
