And she decides to play the credentials game. Do you have a degree in economics? she demands to know. Not that she does, by the way, even though she's making substantive assertions about economics herself.

Her alleged "interviewee" -- actually her debate opponent -- leaves her sputtering.

Now, even though she doesn't have an economics degree, she does have a journalism degree, which journalists believe to be a General Degree of Expertise in Everything.

Not sure why they think that, but they do. They love demanding "Do you have a degree in science?" when arguing about Global Warming; the fact that they are non-scientists is not, for them, a barrier to arguing on the issue. But it's a barrier to non-journalists, apparently.
