Hey, Twitter "Cons" who jumped on this and started panic tweeting -- at least you got your Hot Garbage Takes out fast.

Or look at it this way: Sure, you lost credibility. Again.

Sure, you showed that for an alleged Twitter Smart Person you're really a fucking dope who will believe the same lies and panic-rumors over and over and over again, without ever learning.

Again.

But on the other hand:

You did get to show what a Big-Time Influencer you were by spreading yet another leftwing Moral Panic.

And that means you're Important!

Note: Even though this is like the tenth or fifteenth one of these they've fallen for, it will make absolutely no difference.

The same people who made sure they retweeted out the Covington Kids Smear were again fast-on-the-draw to promote this newest viral panic.

It doesn't matter how many times they get fooled.

They are lonely, insecure people who only feel important when they are swept up in a great rush of Virtual Herd-Beasts.

Obama Voter and Fake Libertarian Megan McArdle: You know who should learn a lesson from this latest hallnoosination? White people. If white people only "overreacted" to halluciated nooses more, black people wouldn't be forced to hallucinate them in the first place.

Hey remember in the 90s when we thought we were all Good People because we were #Believing All Children Who Alleged Bizarre Satanic Sex Abuse Scenarios?

We were such good people, believing in all the Moral Panics that upright and respectable people believed in.

A lot of innocent people had their lives ruined by we Upright and Respectable People Who Believed in All the Trendy Mass Delusions.

We were just told to #BelieveAllWomen, and then that got walked back to #BelieveAllDemocratWomenAllegingAgainstRepublicans.

Now we're believing all race allegations?

All of them?

Or just the ones against the White Oppressors?

When does this #Believe All The Bullshit madness ever stop?

I guess it's a "good thing" to pretend that race-based panics -- which always involve, implicitly, deep-seated paranoias and suspicions about the perfidities of another race -- are real things. We should definitely just keep feeding fictions instead of being responsible thinking adults and deploy any skepticism whatsoever.

There are just so many Teachable Moments in these hallucinations and hoaxes!
