Ned Ryun, American Greatness: To Save America, Defund Conservatism, Inc.

What a happy coincidence that they published this article today.

This is mostly about the liberal/libertarian corporate-aligned grifter organization Heritage -- another institution taken over by the left, and now wearing the dead, gutted institution's hide as a skin-suit.

I hope conservatives everywhere begin seriously reevaluating where they're sending their money.

The best you can hope for with most DC advocacy organizations is no effect at all. They're grifters. 80+% of the donations sent to them are plowed into overpaid staff and, get this, more fundraising.

But I'd rather put money towards a grifter group that does nothing than a grifter group which is actively on the other side.

It was fascinating to watch Tucker Carlson call out Heritage Foundation President Kay James for her recent op-ed at Fox News. James added her voice to the politically correct chorus, informing us that racism is "a cancer in America" and "our Achilles' Heel that has afflicted us for 400 years." Some people, myself included, would like to know, who are these racists James speaks of? Are they the people on the Heritage board who appointed her? Are they people who work for Heritage or are in the conservative movement, even people who identify with the America First agenda? She should name names.

To be fair, James condemned the rioting, but she sounded more like an adherent to the questionable New York Times "1619 Project" than a leading conservative who is supposed to believe in the fundamental principles of liberty and opportunity for all to which our nation has cleaved for centuries.

Those principles at one time were core to the mission of the Heritage Foundation. Now its leadership can’t seem to utter them, let alone espouse them.

Lot of that going on.

Think of the paid alleged professionals of Conservatism, Inc.: Would any of them say that all racism, including the increasingly socially and governmentally accepted racism against whites (and Jews, of course), is evil?

To say so would contradict an absolutely sacrosanct and non-debatable dogma of their leftwing kin, that there is no such thing as "anti-white racism" because you can't be racist against whites because whites are born in racial sin and hating them for that is just Common Sense, not racist ideology.

It is very controversial to say something so deeply non-controversial and obvious -- and yet, the people we're paying to speak for us can't quite find the opportunity, or the courage, to say it.

It's become "alt-right," in the eyes of the Conservativism, Inc. grifters, to say that racism is racist. Their leftwing neighbors, girlfriends, and Twitter palz insist on it being so, and they, of course, Kneel to them.

Today some people, myself included, are rightly asking: if Heritage can't support the most basic tenets of America's founding and affirm its rise to exceptionalism, what is the point of Heritage at all?

The true purpose of any fundraising venture is to fundraise. Everything else is just furniture and window-treatments.

Heritage works hard (so do washing machines) churning out white papers, but are they even good policy? One can argue that at any given time they've been pro-immigration, pro-amnesty, pro-China, against fair trade and U.S.-based manufacturing, and neoconservative pro-war advocates.

An insider I know at Heritage -- who, by the way, hates Heritage, and hopefully will permit me to publish his comments about it -- says that this sentence contains an error, that Heritage, despite being generally neoliberal/libertarian, has remained, nominally, anti-amnesty.

Now I don't know all the details of that. A lot of fake conservatives have claimed to be anti-amnesty while actually being in favor of it; they just call it something else, like "earned citizenship."

But nominally, my contact says Heritage remains, supposedly, anti-amnesty.

Heritage's ineffectiveness, however, is not for lack of funding. A study of their publicly available tax returns between 2001-2018 shows the Heritage Foundation raised $1.25 billion in that timeframe. Yes, kids, that's billion with a big fat "b." Heritage is also, as of the filing of its 2018 990 form, sitting on $260 million in cash, investments, buildings, land, and equipment. Come to think of it, perhaps Heritage is becoming an endowed real estate company with a think tank attached. Prove me wrong.

I've avoided excerpting the last part of this essay, which is a great rallying cry. But if I quoted that, you could just skip reading it. So, despite my desire to excerpt it, I'm leaving it at AmGreatness.

I will say that Ned Ryun seems to agree with me on some basic points, and some basic ways of looking at things. The term "welfare queens of the conservative movement" is used, for example.
