National Review Editor in Chief Rich Lowry: Panicky Conservatives Are Making a Mistake When They Claim That Pulling Down Confederate Statues Will Lead to Pulling Down Statues of Washington and Jefferson
Do you think I'm razzing Lowry about an article he wrote in 2017? Before antifa and the radicals began actually pulling down statues of Jefferson and desecrating statues of abolitionists?
Nope. He wrote this today. Today, he claimed that conservatives are being paranoid in thinking that pulling down Confederate statues will lead to pulling down statues of the founders.
Rich Lowry prefers living in the past, repeating his same old Turn-of-the-Millennium conservaspeak platitudes.
He's straight up pretending this didn't Just fucking happen:
Julie Kelly pointed out Rich Lowry's latest example of being stuck in 2003, when we were on the cusp of a huge win in Iraq.
Someone replied to her: "I assumed you were trolling him over a dumb article he wrote a few years ago when a lot of people still didn-t get it. I like Rich personally, but it's incredible he would write something like this right now."
Yes. Incredible.
But this is Conservative, Inc.
This is what your years of patronage, support, donations, and even cruise ticket purchases have bought you:
Conservatives tend to come down the same way. They reflexively oppose politically correct campaigns to track down and destroy anything giving offense. They fear where the slippery slope of a campaign of woke iconoclasm will lead—first it’s Jefferson Davis, then Thomas Jefferson, finally George Washington. They value tradition, and Confederate statues have been part of the landscape of American cities for decades now, and they worry we are trashing part of our history.
This impulse, though, is a mistake.
Yes, Rich. All they want is to pull down Confedrate statues and then they'll be appeased.
That's right, Genius.
You figured it out.
The capacity of the Corporate Welfare Queen "conservative" media to cast endless suspicion and scorn on conservatives while steadfastly assuming honest motives and good faith of the most violent and vile elements of the left is sociopathic.
I'm absolutely astonished that with the Rampant Left tearing this country apart with the explicit blessing of Democrat office-holders and "respectable" liberals like Mara Liason that Rich Lowry (and the cucks in general) still return to their comfort zone of Lecturing Conservatives for Conservatives' Backwards Thinking.
That's their woobie. That's their happy place. Sucking off the left and showing the left that their hearts are still with the left.
Have you ever held a job in your life that wasn't corporate funded pencil-pushing, Rich?
True:
14 Everyone at Camp Cuckservative is curled into a ball on the floor, rocking back and forth while chanting: "Haley is coming, Haley is coming, Haley is coming..."
