I Love the Smell of Drudge Siren in the Morning

Just go already.

Blaster offers:

Sonny Crockett : [after discussing Sonny's college football successes, Tubbs asked why wasn't he in the pros] Some Southeast Asian conference.
Ricardo Tubbs : Vietnam?
Sonny Crockett : [sarcasm] No, Coney Island...!

I don't know if it's relevant, but since I've still got that dumb Miami Vice picture in the sidebar, I guess I'm obliged to actually do something with the premise.

Thanks, Blaster. I've been all out of Miami Vice stuff since, um, two hours after I started this jackass schtick.

Update! Marcland has the jpg of the directive posted.

Yes, but will the President SAY or DO anything about it? Being a Bush supporter is like rooting for a fighter who keeps his hands tied behind his back.

Will this be a three day storm, or will it be viewed properly as evidence of manipulation and voting fraud as it should?

- And you know, the more I think about this, the more pissed I am. The nation is hoping above hope that this election will go smoothly and that we can avoid the bitterness of four years ago.

AND THESE MOTHERFUCKERS ARE FUCKING PLANNING ON CREATING UPHEAVAL EVEN IF THERE ISN'T ANY!!!

How can anybody support these unscrupulous pricks??

Posted by: lauraw on October 14, 2004 11:18 AM

Well, a ton must be reading the report ... because I can't access it! Oh, if only that meant the RIGHT people were reading it .

Posted by: Carin on October 14, 2004 11:19 AM

I will add ... that during the LAST election, my husband stood behind someone who ASKED a voter official how to vote ... and the person said "OH, it's EASY, you just vote STRAIGHT TICKET Democrat." I live in Detroit. It is just assumed, if the question is asked, that the person is asking how to vote in that manner. Don't know how to vote? Here is where the Democrat's names are ...

Posted by: Carin on October 14, 2004 11:21 AM

I've said before that Bush will lose the election in large part because he won't respond to the crap the Democrats keep pulling. I don't know why he won't do it - it seems like a great way to score points with the uncommitteds while knocking the Democrats off stride. For more, check out this link

Nothing they do surprises, shocks or outrages me anymore. This is so typical.

ROFL - my jaw literally dropped when I read that thing. We all know how drudge can sensationalize that, but IMO, reading the actual flyer was *WORSE* that Drudge's headline implied. If his coverage of hurricanes is any indicator, that's saying something.

I fully expect him to edit his headline with 15 cowbells and sirens and make a nice flash animation. I'll hold my breath...

Well, Hugh Hewitt's book said if it isn't close, they can't steal it.

It's fricking close. Too fricking close.

Sonny Crockett : [after discussing Sonny's college football successes, Tubbs asked why wasn't he in the pros] Some Southeast Asian conference.
Ricardo Tubbs : Vietnam?
Sonny Crockett : [sarcasm] No, Coney Island...!

That's all I got.

Are we sure this is authentic? 'Cause it's a little sloppy-looking. "There techniques"? "Reviewing Republican tactic used"?

Maybe it's an early draft.

Posted by: Alex on October 14, 2004 12:03 PM

Maybe Dan Rather can look into this...

Two things I will carry away from this election, outside the "issues" and candidates. That I hope will be scrutinized and have a lot of people saying they must end:

1. The Nexus between the liberal Democrats and the liberal MSM conspiring to manipulate the news. Multiple smoking guns. I see the public wanting assurance that a media outlet is either truly objective or dropping the pretense they are so.

2. The actions by the Democrats to try and persuade Americans that they live in a sham democracy where massive disenfranchisement of minorities exists, conspiracies abound, most elections are fixed, and all elections are subject to lawsuits if the Democrat loses.

This propaganda is incredibly corrosive. It undermines the polity getting together after an election, accepting the final result, and governing effectively and in a non-divisive manner. If a large number of people begin to believe that all power is thus illegitimate, tremendous damage to the nation results.

Note: This has nothing to do with the legitimate debate over the power of people with the money mattering more than voters wishes. Both parties are guilty of that - sometimes serving interests of the same masters offering the same money to both sides - ethanol subsidies, insurance companies, our tilt to Israel, Big Pharma, unchecked immigration. Sometimes the money is specific to one Party. Dems have their teachers unions, trial lawyers, Soros. The Republicans have the Wall Street moneyed, tobacco lobbies, etc. The money corrodes the politicians and leaves the public will ignored.

But as the hours pass without a real suspect, and with the FBI apparently interrogating uninvolved people, I begin to fear the assassin has escaped. I mean, they don't seem to be following a breadcrumb trail, they seem genuinely baffled.

There was fear aplenty. But the truth is, a lot of the panic Americans saw on television was performative. The throngs of people along Convention Center Boulevard sat patiently in the broiling weather, five or six deep in folding chairs on the sidewalk, waiting for something, someone, to arrive. Then, a television crew or photographer would show up, and people would pour into the street, falling on their knees, screaming and gesticulating to the camera. It was an awful situation, obviously, but when the camera wasn't on them, it was remarkable how patient and orderly everyone was.
