Profile Or Die: PC Random Searches Will Get Us All DeadThanks to Megan for this chilling report about that LA-to-London flight that was diverted recently: The three Pakistani passengers, two in BC (business class) seats (8A and 14D) and one in economy, got our attention before takeoff with self upgrading, moving about the plane, changing seats several times and asking the crew about our layover, where we stayed, etc. We basically ignored them and wrote them off as bothersome. They diverted to Boston for an early landing, and a SWAT team came aboard to detain the suspicious passengers. By the time we got to the hotel, we were already on the news, and several hours later, we heard the passengers were interviewed, cleared and released. The FBI told me they felt they were on a test run surveillance flight, observing and watching our routine and looking for weaknesses in our security. All the authorities reassured us we did the right thing and that was backed up by the passengers who thanked us and said that they were so glad we watching out for their well being. I think as F/As, we sense when something just isn't right, and this flight had too many small incidents that didn't add up, and thankfully, we acted on our feelings. Without profiling, the odd questions about how much time the plane had been in the air would have simply been ignored. It was the odd behavior, plus the men's ethnic background, that alerted the flight crew. It's time to stop pretending that we shouldn't, and already don't, do this. Profiling is open to possible abuse, but it's even more likely to be abused when there are no guidelines about it and the state continues to maintain an official, bullshit line that it is illegal. That just means that people are expected to be "vigiliant" but cannot employ basic common sense to guide their vigilance, and it encourages those who actually use common sense to just lie to the authorities about it.

Dang, this would be a great way to instigate a civil law suit, if one were so inclined. Posted by: Moonbat_One on August 9, 2005 02:24 PM
These guys were just fucking with the crew and passengers, I'm betting. They probably think it's funny that, since they're Pakistanis and all, they can have a few laughs scaring the shit out of the rest of us. They're extremely lucky I was not on that flight. More than a few shades of Executive Decision, seriously. I felt like I was reading the first part of the movie script. Posted by: Megan on August 9, 2005 02:42 PM
Aparently the words "without regard to race", etc. only mean something to the moonbats when it comes to profiling to protect us. The rest of the time we absolutely MUST have racially-based programs, systems, processes, etc. - IN DIRECT CONTRADICTION OF THE CONSTITUTION AND ITS AMENDMENTS - to preserve the perpetual victim status of the profiled so they can be exploited by "progressive" politicians. Maybe it's just me, but I am having a hard time reconciling The FBI told me they felt they were on a test run surveillance flight, observing and watching our routine and looking for weaknesses in our security. with we heard the passengers were interviewed, cleared and released. Well now, isn't that freaking fantastic. They were probably terrorists, but we let them go. I hope someone is lying and they are on their way to Gitmo as we speak. I hope if they released them it was in order to watch them. Posted by: Lipstick on August 9, 2005 08:07 PM
The suspects were released; however, their genitals were kept for... well, for the hell of it, actually. Posted by: Dogstar on August 10, 2005 02:03 AM

He's been saying that Tuesday will be a decisive day. Other reports say that Trump is in the last stages of planning an action against the mullahs. (And other reports say that Tucker Carlson Simp JD Vance is attempting to get Trump to agree to "negotiations" with Iran -- for fucking what? What do we get out of saving the fucking mullahs and letting them kill and torture their own people? Apart from Tucker Carlson getting to pretend he's a Big Man Influencer and that he's worth all the Qatari money he's receiving.)
