Poll: President's Authority and Influence Plunges To Historic Lows

Fortunately, the poll concerns M. Chirac of France.

The French people long for can-do confidence... such as will be on display in the new French version of Starsky and Hutch, to be called "Duval et Madani," featuring more "sensitive," less "macho" heroes.

The show is expected to be a hit among the key French demographic of 18-54 year old Total Fucking Pussies.

Did I tell you they were almost exactly 30 years behind us in virtually all endeavors or what? The thirty-year rule is sometimes painfully accurate.

Thanks to Utron for that last bit.

"French television is under fire for what critics say is a failure to maintain highbrow cultural traditions. But despite a continued belief in French cultural superiority in some quarters, viewers remain deeply attached to American shows: Dallas, Dynasty, Love Boat, Columbo and Charlie’s Angels are regularly repeated, while French series from the 1970s and 1980s have disappeared."

You want to know why they are 30 years behind us, here is one big clue. They watch American TV shows from 30 years ago.

France is behind the US because the US went through a real civil rights movement, and does not exclude immigrants through cultural reactionary policies.

However, there is a sizeable political force in the US that wants to roll the US back to a culturally reactionary policy -- which would in turn put the US back 30 years.

Thank a liberal today.

Why would I want to thank a liberal for wanting to turn the country back 30 years?

That's quite a mischaracterization of their intent. Perhaps more detail would allow you to clearly see the difference between the so-called 'roll-back' faction and the French social strata.

Tubino's cock, I got something you can put in your mouth right here!

You got?

French right wants to scapegoat immigrants, talks about protecting "our" culture, makes much fuss about language.

US right? Not so different.

Posted by: tubino on November 28, 2005 04:05 PM

When was the last time anyone on the national stage mentioned a language requirement?

And only in the fevered mind of a moonbat does wanting have a rational and protective border and immigration policy equate to scapegoating immigrants.

I have come to the conclusion that anyone who wants to keep the status quo in regards to the border issue is a de facto supporter of terrorists.

When people talk about protecting their culture, this is not always Nazi-talk.

Much of the stuff the French want to protect is what you might call classical liberalism.

The right of women to you know, walk and talk in public without being raped and beaten to death is one thing that comes to mind.

The western traditions of open and questioning discussion of sensitive topics without fear of murder, secular government, democracy, etc.

In European governments where muslims get a representative foothold, they start trying to institute what most liberals would call regressive policies, such as the death penalty and stiffer punishments for petty crimes.

Western culture has as much a right to exist and defend itself as any other.

The nice thing about the US is that our lifestyle is so vibrant and appealing, our people so welcoming of others, and our need for workers so great, that the overwhelming majority of immigrants assimilate.

European xenophobia is certainly real, but some of their problems with immigrants are pragmatic. Stunted socialist economies cannot assimilate them and thus the open, western societies are in danger.

Actually, that's more the French left. And the French "center". Hmm, and also what passes for the French right. Of course, the Frogs don't actually have anything approximating a mainstream conservative movement of party. They have the Gaullists like Chiraq, who seem to be exactly like the socialists (except that Mitterand was a better friend to America) - but in economic and cultural-snob terms exactly the same. And then they have the rascist Le Pen - who is like David Duke, except he gets 20% of the National Vote (how frinckin enlightened) - and even then, he doesn't have much of a free market agenda.

Conservatives in America don't want to roll back the clock further than 1988.

Let's see, the "crazies" on the right want to get rid of the illegals by sending them back home. Nope, no mention of killing them, imprisoning them, even beating them up. Just sending them back so they can try to get here through legal means, like the ones we accept and mostly admire.

The "enlightened" left, however, doesn't want to do anything about the illegals who, by simple definition, are lawbreakers. Ooops! That's a nasty word. So the lefties want all these lawbreakers running around taking work from all the legals (both alien and citizen) so they can feel morally superior to us great unwashed. Never mind the rapes, murders, robberies, drug trafficking, etc., because that's not what this is all about. It's only about respecting people no matter what.

Well, tell that to the mother of the dead coed, or the wife of the man gunned down Saturday. By illegals.

Nazis were socialists. It's about time the Left started accepting that title, instead of spinning it onto the one's who wish to keep our country from falling into their perfect vision of socialism.

Tubby, when you can get past your perfect vision of how everyone else should live, try some reality. The French suck, the Left sucks, and some of us want to live in freedom. Especially from bootjacks like you who want to control our every thought and action. That's real Naziism.

Okay... Thank you, Republican Party - without whom there would have been no civil rights movement thirty years ago.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
