I Got Nothin'

Nothin' at all.

Just letting you know. I'm drier than a mummy with psoriasis.

Updates to follow.

So... what else is going on? What do you guys think of Raj from The Apprentice? I started out thinking he was going to be an embarassment to Republicans -- he's one of those guys who's just too damn eager to tell you he's Republican -- then I sorta liked him when he hit on Anna Kournikova (the balls!), now I'm leaning towards "embarassment" again, since he hits on everything and is apparently under the misimpression that the Apprentice is a dating show and that he'll soon spend some Alone Time in the jacuzzi with Bachelorette Carolyn.*

Don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with being horny. But, you know, time and place, dude.

So, you know, that's the five o'clock update.

* She both intrigues and frightens me, by the way. Ice Princess defined.

Update! Why did they cancel Manimal? The show was just, ahem, getting its legs.

Do you realize that this close election probably gives you the greatest chance of casting THE DECIDING VOTE in any of the battleground states? Your vote is more likely than ever to swing the election.

So cast it!

So I've seen a couple of Apprentice episodes... But never saw the episode that Raj revealed he was a Republican..

Interesting though -- because he's my favorite.

So....... anyhooo

Posted by: recycler on November 2, 2004 05:17 PM

I pegged him as an archconservative right away. Bowtie, cane.

He's ludicrously republican. When he was hitting on AK, for example, he kept accusing her of putting a "Bill Clinton Slick Willy" spin on the ball, and said she was as tricky as a Democrat, etc.

He's also big on the military, and wanted to call his group "Empire," which is what a Republican guy would want to call it.

My hope is that after a day of panicking among those on the plugged-in right, the election is revealed to be a rout when NJ is called for Bush. If they're not doing exit polls in "safe" blue states there could be some surprises, I still think.

Carolyn? Ick.

But Pamela was hot.

Posted by: someone on November 2, 2004 05:21 PM

Pamela? The tall, um, woman of indeterminate sexual preference?

Carolyn's smokin' hot. Plus, you just know she'd be bossy, which I kinda dig.

Posted by: ace on November 2, 2004 05:22 PM

Raj was unfairly blamed for an add campaign that was good, but didn't win. I didn't see anyone else on that team coming up with anything or taking any action, then they all blamed him later on...wait a second. Was I talking about the Apprentice?

Posted by: L.D. on November 2, 2004 05:28 PM

Never watched it- so can't comment. I went into major TV-depression at the end of Buffy, and then Angel (which appeared just in time to assuage my pain for the loss X-Files ... which had replaced Next Generation ...) Now I just troll Foxnews ... AMC or TNT for some old movie. "Lost" has somewhat piqued my interest ... but it's too early to tell. And, really, what kind of long-term storyline could it have???

Anyone else gearing up for the new Amazing Race, aka The Best Freaking Show Ever?

Posted by: Scout on November 2, 2004 05:31 PM

I have a Jewish mother and I swear to God she loves Bowser! We used to watch the TV show when I was a kid and she would say that she loved Bowser all the time!

Ace likes the bossy types huh? I guess as long as they're dressed in little French maid outfits and carry a horsewhip they can boss me around too....

TAL: server's toast. What'd it say?

Jennifer Garner -- nice, but dating Ben freakin' Affleck?

*snort*

Kerry getting 311 EV?

Clearly, Zogby has been smoking crack.

On Tuesday afternoons, when Zogby was conducting the poll, the Republicans were all out working and chauffering the kids around. Totally bogus sample.

Posted by: Scout on November 2, 2004 05:50 PM

Besides, the latest exit polls have the candidates separated by 1 pt in several of the key battleground states. None of those exit polls include early and absentee voters, both of which skew wildly to Bush. Good news for Bush. Bad news for Zogby's Bush-hating brother.

Posted by: Scout on November 2, 2004 05:51 PM

Somehow I picture that "Zogby!" being said like, uh, "Matt Damon!"

Posted by: someone on November 2, 2004 05:54 PM

No, it's said more like "Mars, my bitches!"

Posted by: TAL on November 2, 2004 06:00 PM

From the Kerry Spot's source (the so-called "obiwan," proof that Generation X has now succesfully infiltrated the power center, despite our own apathy) over on NRO:

"What you're hearing about the unreliability of exit polls is accurate. They are focused on urban areas. The exit polls need to be conducted in person, and obviously the media, even with their combined resources, have to pick and choose which polling places to conduct those exit polls. They under-poll rural and suburban areas.
They also do not count early and absentee votes, which traditionally benefit Republicans.

In the 1990s, the CNN exit polls were considered so skewed and so bad that GOP campaign strategists regulary added at least two or three points to the Republican candidate's total.

He also noticed that the earlier garbage polls, with their 59-41 women/men breakdown, were equalized to the more likely proportional turnout, Bush would win several key states like Ohio in a rout.

Before anyone loses their optimism, wait until someone's reputation is on the line in making these calls on the swing states."

Posted by: Scout on November 2, 2004 06:02 PM

Yeah. Manimal and Airwolf. Shows that died before their time. Think of the effects they could do now with Manimal.

Lost Seventies Mystery Click: The Darkest Song Ever Recorded?
I think Professor of Rock (on YouTube) claimed this song was so upsetting that people used to pull over to the side of the road when it came on the radio. It's about a fatal plane crash, but obviously it suggests a fatal car crash too, which could wig out a driver.
It's like one of those nasty 70s anti-war body horror movies. Not for the squeamish. I'm not even going to post the lyrics because they're upsetting too.

I'm frankly surprised the title is 107 Days. I would have thought it would be:

Days Are Important: The Amount of Days Was a Number and That Number Was 100 Plus 7 Which is 107. 107. One Hundred and Seven. It's a Memoir and Memoirs are About Remembering Things Because Remembering Things is Good. Not Bad. Good. Memoir. A Memoir. Like a Reservoir But With Memory. We Have to Let it Flow. We Have to Let It Flow Into the Reservoir of Our Mind and Our Heart. Our Heart Which is the Beating Heart of Not Just Our Blood, But Our Progress. And Our People. And Democracy. The End.

Former CIA operative John Kiriakou talks with Matt Taibbi about the Brennan/Comey Coup
Both guys are old liberals, maybe even of the far-left variety, and both are appalled by the Democrat/Deep State coup against the US. Kiriakou says that CIA officers were legally obligated to report to the Inspector General John Brennan's repeated overruling of actual intelligence to encode his partisan conspiracy theories into US intel product, but of course they didn't.
