Rudy Can't Fail, Part II: Bushies Talking Up Guiliani for DCI

Some people are pushing Porter Goss, but let's face it, who the hell has ever heard of Porter Goss? Even Porter Goss has trouble placing the name.

But there is also a groundswell of support for Giuliani, a tough manager who won widespread praise for his leadership in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

His spokeswoman, Sunny Mindel, said last night that Giuliani is "committed to sustaining the success of his private consulting firm, Giuliani and Partners, and working to help re-elect George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney."

As effective a campaigner and spokesman as Rudy Guiliani is, if he really wants to re-elect Bush and Cheney, he'll do them the favor of taking over the very shaky CIA.

WTF does Giuliani know about intelligence stuff?

Posted by: Moonbat_One on June 4, 2004 05:16 AM

I think they should look for someone intelligent, caring, and dedicated who lacks all the associated baggage of the people already mentioned.

The airport lost my luggage months ago. I'm ready to step in now.

I've heard of Porter Goss.

Think I drank it last night at the local microbrewery.

Giuliani. Of course. Just do it.

He's making millions on Wall Street, but he would do it if we asked him to.

And who in the Senate would dare vote against him.

What does he know about intel? What did he know about being mayor? He knows people, and that's what is important. He'd have star power, to get things done, and he doesn't really care who he pisses off to make things work right. That's a good thing.

And folks who think the US needs to be tougher in the war on terror - well, who's tougher than Rudy? He beat the Big C. He was there on 9/11. He told off the 9/11 Commission.

Why wait? Shuffle Tenet off now and get this done.

Nah- Dick Cheney needs to retire for 'health reasons' and then Giuliani could step in as VP. Cheney's a lame duck for president after GW- he's unelectable. Giuliani has potential. And as the former executive officer of the largest constituency in the country that is not actually an entire state, he's got the experience to be Prez if anyone does. Not to mention the balls.

I agree that Rudy weould be an excellent president. Sudy in '08 all the way.
I don't klnow abuot the director of the CIA thogh. He's never been involved in the spying business, so I don't know how well he would be there.
