Only Thing Missing? "My Pet Goat"

You know, it wouldn't be AoSHQ without a hat tip to Allah, so here you go - "Full Osama Tape Littered With Lefty Talking Points:"

Quagmire: "[T]he [American] soldier is caught between two hard options. He either refuses to leave his military camp on patrols and is therefore dogged by ruthless punishments enacted by the Vietnam Butcher (U.S. army) or he gets destroyed by the mines.... The solution is in your hands if you care about them (the soldiers)."

Iraq worse off than before: "On another issue, jihad (holy war) is ongoing, thank God, despite all the oppressive measures adopted by the U.S Army and its agents (which is) to a point where there is no difference between this criminality and Saddam's criminality, as it has reached the degree of raping women and taking them as hostages instead of their husbands."

"Mission accomplished": "[I]f you compare the small number of dead on the day that Bush announced the end of major operations in that fake, ridiculous show aboard the aircraft carrier with the tenfold number of dead and wounded who were killed in the smaller operations, you would know the truth of what I say.

This should embarrass the left.

Who wants to bet that it won't?

It wont.

They will just rant and rave and say "How dare you imply that we help the enemy!" *indignation shivers*

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on January 19, 2006 11:15 PM

How come no one ever says, "Osama sounds like Michelle Malkin"? Huh?? I ask you.

Posted by: Allah on January 19, 2006 11:16 PM

it won't. they have no shame.

Posted by: Dave in Texas on January 19, 2006 11:19 PM

So, Allah.
Got Ace roped-up in your basement?
Just askin'.

Posted by: harrison on January 19, 2006 11:25 PM

I'd also like to bet you that the sun won't rise tomorrow.
(I bet it does-takers?)
Fuck the left.
They hear their talking points spoken from the mouths of Saddam, alZawahri, Zarqawi, Osama, etc, and don't even blink. They believe that these fine fellows are speaking to Bush (and the rest of us who understand the fight for our lives that we're in), and nod their heads in agreement.
It doesn't occur to them that these are our enemies, the folks that would see all of us dead.
Rather, it does occur to them, and the left agrees.
They are righteously fighting American imperialism, after all.
Ultimately, these are the allies of the left.
So yes, they (lefties) are fucking traitors.

Damn, that gal in the pink Reagan shirt is hot!
I didn't realize that there was a period before the R in Reagan.
. Reagan

Posted by: Uncle Jefe on January 19, 2006 11:25 PM

Allah - I seriously thought that website was a parody website until I read the comments. All toeing the "I'm freakin nuts" line the Democratic Underground is famous for. I saw at least 2 "thourough"(in a list) comparisons of Bush to a facsist.

Posted by: Greg on January 19, 2006 11:31 PM

We may all have our differences in politics, come from different backgrounds, worship different gods and cheer for different teams, but there are some things we can all agree on.

Damn, that gal in the pink Reagan shirt is hot!

Posted by: Red Jode on January 19, 2006 11:45 PM

She's got Aniston nips.

Posted by: Biff Biff on January 19, 2006 11:47 PM

Yes, she is hot . . . and she's looking at me, just me. I can tell.

Posted by: adolfo velasquez on January 19, 2006 11:53 PM

Seriously, do we know who is translating this stuff? It sounds like the NYT with the assistance of some of the KosKids.

Posted by: wiserbud on January 20, 2006 12:05 AM

Actually, didn't the pre-election tape mention "My Pet Goat"?

Posted by: someone on January 20, 2006 12:57 AM

I think it's great he's offering a truce. He should tell us where he would like to meet.

Posted by: Dogstar on January 20, 2006 01:28 AM

This is devastating to the DNC. How can they justify impeding the NSA's investigations when bin Laden just warned of an imminent attack on U.S. soil?

Remember the Left used to say "George Bush gave Osama exactlywhat he wanted -- a war in the Middle East"?

Yeah, well, I guess bin Laden never really wanted the American military machine in the Middle East. Osama thought he was dealing with a pussy administration like Clinton's or Bush 41. Little did he know we had a crazy cowboy in the Oval Office crazier than Reagan.

The RNC should do exactly what Slu did with Osama's speech -- point out all the similarities in talking points.

(Abramoof who?)

Posted by: Bart on January 20, 2006 03:27 AM

Another serious blow to the Democrats (besides Andrew Sullivan's best efforts) is the backpeddling of Harry Reid calling 33 Republican senators corrupt.

Man, did he look like an ass. Speaking of asses, how 'bout that Henry Waxman? Did he look like a pig-faced...um....pig,or what, at that phony-baloney drama-fest the other day?

Posted by: Bart on January 20, 2006 03:34 AM

Another from the evil BIN LADEN he is geeting help from many sources and you can bet he gets support from the hollywood left

Posted by: spurwing plover on January 20, 2006 08:52 AM

The blog Allah linked to is nuts. They are now up in arms about the WaPo shutting down their online comments because of abuse.

Posted by: shawn on January 20, 2006 09:52 AM

Of course it's not going to embarrass the left. They weren't embarrassed by his last tape, which made it obvious that he'd watched the video of Fahrenheit 9/11. (Presumably in between re-viewing the DVD for Infidel Lesbian Cheerleaders Gone Wild. Not much of a porn video, but the entertainment options in those mountain caves are kind of limited.)

Actually, the left is arguing that OBL is a puppet of the Bush White House, much like Hurricane Katrina and the Boxing Day tsunami. Here's Jack Cafferty making the case for that theory. IIRC, they had a similar theory about Osama's pre-election tape.

Posted by: utron on January 20, 2006 10:28 AM

zarqawi/bib laden/zawahiri=goldstein.

The U.S. is headed toward failure if it retreats from military occupation ("enduring bases") and management of the region's resources.

Yet, ironically, such failure, this ignominious retreat, will leave behind a "democracy" in Iraq.

In which case, Bush will be a hero in spite of all his intentions.

Posted by: ergastularius on January 20, 2006 11:26 AM

Oh. And far be it for me to be the only one here to point out it was the "bush doctrine" that managed to find an actual marriage of bin ladenism and Iraq, when none existed before.

See how W makes history? Funny, were it not for the murdering.

Posted by: ergastularius on January 20, 2006 11:32 AM

AND he'll get two more Associate Justices, maybe three.

Posted by: Dave in Texas on January 20, 2006 11:37 AM

yup. some more texas justice. watch how you pick up that soap, cuz there's a cowboy marking your every move. and, no more bellyachin from the bitches when told politely, and only once, to drop their knickers.

it's a fuckin' man's world, baby.

Posted by: ergastularius on January 20, 2006 11:42 AM

bellyachin from the bitches when told politely

goodness no, bellyache all you want.

Posted by: Dave in Texas on January 20, 2006 11:50 AM

A litle cranky this morning?

an actual marriage of bin ladenism and Iraq

You mean bin Ladenism and Baathism, and that marriage is falling apart as we speak.

cuz there's a cowboy marking your every move

We've had various components of the PC movement marking our every move for 25 years. At least a cowboy might make some sense.

Posted by: geoff on January 20, 2006 11:53 AM

Speaking of asses, how 'bout that Henry Waxman? Did he look like a pig-faced...um....pig,or what, at that phony-baloney drama-fest the other day?

I wonder if anyone's ever looked for Jimmy Hoffa in those huge-ass nostrils...

Posted by: zetetic on January 20, 2006 11:53 AM

bible thumping justices. that's all we need.

Posted by: ergastularius on January 20, 2006 12:00 PM

watch how you pick up that soap,...

wow, gastritis. that whole tirade was even more incoherent than usual, which is saying something. just for the entertainment value, care to elucidate? that "no bellyachin from the bitches" part was especially intriguing.

Posted by: e. e. cummings on January 20, 2006 12:02 PM

e.e., I think he means we're fucking him, and telling him to shut up and like it.

Either that or he's asking me out on a date. I could go with either explanation. Whichever one, he's cute as a bug isn't he?

Posted by: Dave in Texas on January 20, 2006 12:05 PM

he's cute as a bug isn't he?

just adorable, dave. solenogaster reminds me of one of those puppies who "think they're people." not exactly up there with jessica alba as dateworthy material, but it's sweet of him to ask.

Posted by: e. e. cummings on January 20, 2006 12:11 PM

It touched me.

It certainly did.

Posted by: Dave in Texas on January 20, 2006 12:16 PM

Actually, didn't the pre-election tape mention "My Pet Goat"?

It did, along with pretty much every other left talking point. And Michael Moore bragged about it! "Do you think he has a DVD player in his cave?" or something to that effect.

When it first came on, I remember thinking "Gee, he sounds just like a Democrat, except a relatively sane one."

Posted by: JSinger on January 20, 2006 12:19 PM

eglandulous started out like so many other trolls, trying vainly to hide his BDS.

But like all the rest, driven mad by ferocious hallucinations of a Nazi America, he must finally tear off the veil of reasonableness and show his poxy self to us.

Posted by: lauraw on January 20, 2006 12:30 PM

You know, I'm SURE that I share some common views with Rev. Fred Phelps. Maybe on something like taxes. But that doesn't mean I share his more nefarious views.

So just because Osama says something that I agree with, that doesn't mean I'm in his camp. Trying to imply that sharing some views is tantamount to agreeing with someone on all points, or with their methodology, is patently ridiculous.

Jason

Posted by: Jason on January 20, 2006 01:05 PM

Well Jason, I don't think OBL ever got around to addressing tax policy, but on the RELEVANT issues of terrorism and the war in Iraq he seems to be reading off of your talking points. Go ahead and keep pretending that doesn't matter, at least through November.

Posted by: JeffK on January 20, 2006 01:32 PM

Trying to imply that sharing some views is tantamount to agreeing with someone on all points, or with their methodology, is patently ridiculous.

We're trying to imply that OBL ran down the list of the MoveOn/DailyKos/DU talking points, not that he shared "some views." We're saying that he's basing his propaganda on what he reads and hears from the left, and that it's coming back to us without significant filtering. Which he is, and trying to deny it is "patently ridiculous."

Posted by: geoff on January 20, 2006 01:38 PM

So just because Osama says something that I agree with...

That disclaimer should precede every single sentence that Howard Dean utters from now until November.

Nice try, Jason. I give your effort a solid B+.

P.S. Tell your friends like ergotrollius to keep using the word democracy in quotes. Make 'em look real good.

Posted by: Bart on January 20, 2006 07:00 PM

So, you're saying Osama is helping Bush, correct?

Posted by: scarshapedstar on January 20, 2006 09:10 PM

btw,

"That disclaimer should precede every single sentence that Howard Dean utters from now until November.

Nice try, Jason. I give your effort a solid B+."

It really takes courage to go for the cheap shot. Good job, Party of Ideas!

Posted by: scarshapedstar on January 20, 2006 09:11 PM

star/tubino/tu bin laden,my point is that Osama is making Bush's case for the WoT and Iraq. And at the same time, OBL is hurting the Democrats.

Hey, he's your ally. Don't blame me for what he says.

Posted by: Bart on January 21, 2006 10:35 PM

How I yearn for the days when Cedarford was our only troll. On some occasions, he would make a cogent point. At other times, he was funny. And then, he would be just plain batshit racist crazy.

*sigh*

On the upside, now we have spurwing plover, who is inventing a whole new genre of internet commenting. Life goes on.

I'd wanted to review Parts 2, 3, and 4 of Ryan Lizza's revenge posts about Olivia Nuzzi, but they're all paywalled. I thought about briefly subscribing to get at them, but then I read this in Part 2:
Remember the bamboo from Part 1?

Do I ever! It's all I remember!
Well, bamboo is actually a type of grass, and underground, it's all connected in a sprawling network, just like the parts of this story I never wanted to tell. I wish I hadn't been put in this position, that I didn't have to write about any of this, that I didn't have to subject myself or my loved ones to embarrassment and further loss of privacy.

We're back to the fucking bamboo. Guys, I don't think I can pay for bamboo ruminations.
I think he added that because he was embarrassed about all the bamboo imagery from Part 1. He's justifying his twin obsessions: His ex, and bamboo. Which is not a tree but a kind of grass, he'll have you know.
Olivia Nuzzi's crappy Sex and the City fanfic book isn't selling, says CNN (and CNN seems pretty pleased about that)
On Tuesday, the book arrived in stores. At lunchtime, in the Midtown Manhattan nexus of media and publishing, interest in Nuzzi's story seemed more muted. The Barnes and Noble on Fifth Avenue had seven copies tucked into a "New & Notable" rack next to the escalator, below Malala Yousafzai's "Finding My Way." Not many had sold so far, a store employee said.

A few blocks uptown, at a branch of the local independent chain McNally Jackson Books, a few volumes lay on a table of new and noteworthy nonfiction near the front of the store. No one was lining up to get them, or even browsing. Bookseller Alex Howe told CNN around 3 p.m. that though the store had procured "several dozen" copies, not a single one had yet sold -- a figure he said was surprising, considering how many people in media and publishing work in the area.

"We ordered a lot and so far, people have not been beating down the door," Howe said. "I'm not sure where we're gonna put them because right now, supply is outpacing demand." (A manager at McNally Jackson noted that Howe was speaking only in a personal capacity, not as a representative of the store.)

She trashes Ryan Lizza for his "Revenge Porn" here. Emily Jashinsky says that when the Bulwark's gay grifter Tim Miller asked why she didn't report on the (alleged) use of ketamine by RFKJr., she broke down in tears and asked to end the interview.
