I wonder if our bombing decreases the number of insurgents or creates more. If someone "accidentally" bombed my house I know what I would do. It doesn't seem like this insurgency is winding down at all. Time to declare victory and leave. We did win, didn't we? Captured Sadam, put in a new democratic government, etc. - let's scram.

Let me put it to you this way. No one in that neighborhood will be planting IED's beside the road. Now unfortunate as it is, there is a lesson to be learned here. When your neighbors (65' away) do things that will potentially attract massive ordnance to the neighborhood block party, you should maybe rat them out before it happens.

I do not give those poor people that got snuffed a complete pass on this. They are maybe 75-80% culpable. They had as much, or maybe more, responsibility for their well being as do the authorities. If you let that kind of activity go on in and around your house, what the hell do you expect?
