« Juan Cole: Even If A Democratically Elected Iraq Government Requests Us To Withdraw, That's Still a Bad Thing | Main | Instapundit/Saint Andrew Smackdown »

Fun with Froggy!

Which one of the following is NOT on the front page of French Yahoo?

The European Budget for 2013.

Paris Hilton condemned by PETA.

Successful elections in Iraq.

Bingo.

the french are like CHICKENS

Posted by: Spurwing Jr. on December 15, 2005 07:42 PM

How dare you insult chickens by lumping them in with the French?!

Posted by: Tanker on December 15, 2005 07:45 PM

Why should the french care about elections? That's not how sophistocated democracies get things done, anyhow. Now, if there were a civil service union going on strike, that would be news.

Posted by: on December 15, 2005 08:17 PM

And the news would be how evil the government was for keeping the poor, overworked slaves from full benefits AND a 28-hour work week...

Posted by: Carlos on December 15, 2005 08:20 PM

It isn't on the front page of CNN atm either.

Ice storms coverage is more important

Posted by: Pablo Honey on December 15, 2005 08:57 PM

Chicken is hot.

Posted by: Paris Hilton on December 15, 2005 08:59 PM

Were there elections in Iraq today? Huh. Big snow storm here in Michigan, so that's all we've heard about. What's a new democracy compared to 7 inches of snow?

Posted by: carin on December 15, 2005 09:11 PM

Pablo's got it right. I won't point a finger at the French while the Communist News Network acts like nothing happened today in Iraq except to pull up an 11 moth old story.

Posted by: MCPO Airdale on December 15, 2005 10:05 PM

Why is snow in the winter even a news story?

Posted by: Slublog on December 15, 2005 10:13 PM

Speaking of voting & stuff, everyone's voted for Dave at Garfield Ridge right?

Posted by: Enas Yorl on December 15, 2005 10:29 PM

Dave trails by 8 votes. It's a sad day when Canadian tranvestites beat a guy from Garfield Ridge, wherever that is.

Posted by: Timmy in the Well on December 15, 2005 10:33 PM

Garfiled by one. Bout an hour to go. Gonna come down to the wire.

Posted by: Guy Dupree on December 15, 2005 10:49 PM

Dave is now leading by 7 votes. Get off your lazy asses and vote to salvage at least some of these picks.

Posted by: MH on December 15, 2005 11:08 PM

Just fired up a couple more computers and voted - Dave's now 18 ahead.

Posted by: geoff on December 15, 2005 11:30 PM

this whole "vote for dave" thing is old

Posted by: its old on December 15, 2005 11:32 PM

Hey you!
Have you Voted for Garfield Ridge yet?

P.S. I'll deal with Feisty later.

Posted by: Timmy on December 15, 2005 11:39 PM

He's only 15 ahead now. (11:40 EST)

Posted by: geoff on December 15, 2005 11:40 PM

I find this Del Gines to be a breath of freah air. Just saying.

Posted by: Jack Wilkie on December 15, 2005 11:40 PM

I haven't felt like this since Nov. 2, 2004.
All night long I was refreshing the Yahoo election results to make sure GWB kept his lead in Ohio.

No sleep that night because none of the networks would declare Ohio for Bush nor did Kerry make a concession speech until the next afternoon. Of course you know all this.

The best part was watching the Kerry supporters being stood up by Kerry and Edwards at the Boston Common. They stood there in the cold and rain until 1am when John Edwards came out for a very brief speech.
Good times.

Posted by: Timmy on December 15, 2005 11:50 PM

A lead of 19 with 10 minutes to go.

Posted by: geoff on December 15, 2005 11:51 PM

16 at the 5 minute mark.

Posted by: geoff on December 15, 2005 11:56 PM

15 with a minute left.

Posted by: geoff on December 15, 2005 11:59 PM

Okay people. Youve had your issues with Dave in the past. But now is the time to come to the aid of your "it's old" tards like never before. Lend a hand.

Posted by: Ray "Big Fingers" Midge on December 16, 2005 12:01 AM

Wizbang said the voting will stop at 11:59p, give or take a few minutes as each poll has to be closed individually.

If they go in order, Dave's category will be among the last to close.

Posted by: Timmy on December 16, 2005 12:01 AM

Hmmm. Polls are supposed to close at 11:59 EST, but they're apparently still logging votes. To be on the safe side, anybody who hasn't voted yet should get to it.

Posted by: geoff on December 16, 2005 12:04 AM

That's funny, Ray, posting at 12:01.

Posted by: Timmy on December 16, 2005 12:05 AM

At 12:08 the votes are still recording, and Dave's lead has slipped to 13.

Posted by: geoff on December 16, 2005 12:09 AM

I believe they are using Eastern time. I just posted in their comments section to see and their time is 5 minutes ahead of mine. So I don't know what's going.

They might be pulling the same crap they pulled in Cleveland by keeping the polls open for more dead people votes.

Posted by: Timmy on December 16, 2005 12:13 AM

10:15 and they're still logging votes - Dave's at +12, now.

Posted by: geoff on December 16, 2005 12:16 AM

By the way, Ace won handily.
Congratulations, Ace.

Hey, the final results are coming in.

Posted by: Timmy on December 16, 2005 12:17 AM

When does that shit close. About 11 votes and closing.

Posted by: Ray Midge on December 16, 2005 12:19 AM

Hey folks - they're probably not going to close the polls for Dave's race for at least another 15 minutes. His lead has slipped to 10. Keep at it, please.

Posted by: geoff on December 16, 2005 12:20 AM

12:25 am - they've closed the first 6 categories. At this rate they'll get to Dave nearly 2 hours from now. Keep pounding!

Posted by: geoff on December 16, 2005 12:27 AM

Just cast my vote for Dave. Looks like he's up by 12.

Whoever Dave is.... I hear he's old or something...

Posted by: Lipstick on December 16, 2005 12:29 AM

Congratulations to Ace, by the way. That's a pretty clear, Dick-Cheney sized mandate you got there.

Posted by: See-Dubya on December 16, 2005 12:33 AM

I have Dave at 1496, Ellen at 1480.

Please don't tell me that...

...it's old.

Posted by: Timmy on December 16, 2005 12:34 AM

Mine took it to 1497 - 1483.

Keep voting!

Posted by: someone on December 16, 2005 12:38 AM

1500 to 1487.

Posted by: Timmy on December 16, 2005 12:52 AM

It may be time for the special King County ballot boxes.

Posted by: someone on December 16, 2005 12:54 AM

That's a pretty clear, Dick-Cheney sized mandate you got there.

yeah, great ....

please don't encourage him. A megalomaniacal Ace is something I would sooner do without.

Posted by: DeeDaGo on December 16, 2005 12:55 AM

About 8 categories to go before 3501 - 5000 category closes. Dave's got a 16-vote lead, with about 30 votes logged after the 'deadline.' Wouldn't hurt to vote if you haven't.

Posted by: geoff on December 16, 2005 01:14 AM

...and at 1:29 am it looks like they've closed Dave's race, with the final tally:

Dave at Garfield Ridge: 1508
The Reign of Ellen: 1491

Congrats, Dave (and Ellen for a close second).

And congrats as well to Ace for his walk-away win in the Conservative Blogs category.

Posted by: geoff on December 16, 2005 01:31 AM

I want to know if the '60 cars a night set ablaze' means that _France_ now has more cars on fire than Iraq.

Posted by: Al on December 16, 2005 01:33 AM

Good. It's finally over.
Congratualtions, Dave.

Ellen is, overall, a better person than you, but we can't have one of our peeps lose a race. It reflects badly on the rest of us.

Posted by: Timmy on December 16, 2005 01:38 AM

Amazing what a moronblog can do. Maybe now Ace can get some of that crazyblogmoney. Can I get a cut of that, ace?

Posted by: MH on December 16, 2005 01:59 AM

Ellen is, overall, a better person than you, but we can't have one of our peeps lose a race. It reflects badly on the rest of us.

Agreed. Dave is, obviously, a high functioning retard. But he's our high funtioning retard. Wouldn't do to see him lose.

Posted by: Ray Midge on December 16, 2005 02:15 AM

I do beleive the french symbol is a chicken

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
