Quote of the Week

Mr. Wilson's original claims about what he found on a CIA trip to Africa, what he told the CIA about it, and even why he was sent on the mission have since been discredited. What a bizarre irony it would be if what began as a politically motivated lie by Mr. Wilson nonetheless leads to indictments of Bush Administration officials for telling reporters the truth.

From the WSJ, culled from FreeRepublic.

It's time for Congress to make a criminal referral to the Justice Department regarding Joe Wilson's serial perjury in his hearings. Although he admitted lying to the media -- calling it a "little dramatic flair" -- I do believe he continued to maintain his wife had nothing to do with sending him to Niger.

If we're going after perjurers, let's start with Perjurer Zero.

Did Joe Wilson say that in front of a grand jury?

Posted by: Geek, Esq. on October 28, 2005 05:40 PM

Testimony before congress is sworn testimony and subject to the rules of perjury, "Expert."

Posted by: ace on October 28, 2005 05:41 PM

Damn, Geek, you really took that in the ass. Ace may be a drunken porn addict, but it looks like what's left of his frontal lobes just tacked you to the wall. Oh well, it's not like you rushed to make the first comment and made sure your stupidity will be seen by everyone who opens up the thread or anything.

As in Oliver North. Testimony before Congress. Led to 16 felony counts.

Of course, there are probably other examples.

And of course, the one I thought of first was another target of the left.

So, what are the odds of Scooter being able to drag old Wilson into court for some reason or another?

Posted by: Confederate Yankee on October 28, 2005 05:54 PM

Now that the discussion will turn over to 'the run up to the war', let's all keep in mind two things:

1 - Hans Blix had logistical problems getting 17 (that's seventeen) inspectors into Iraq despite having 4 years to prepare for the resumption of those inpections

and - fuck, that's it...

the UN Inspections Team for all of Iraq during the 'run up to the war' could fit on three school buses.

Reality - the Nemesis of the Reality-based

Hey!! Where'd bbeck's yabos go?

Posted by: ACE SUCKS on October 28, 2005 06:02 PM

We have been weaned!

Posted by: Reo Symes on October 28, 2005 06:03 PM

I put that up because "bbeck" said I could in the comments.

Then I realized-- well, maybe that wasn't even her, just someone saying it was bbeck.

I'll put it up when I have an email confirmation from her.

Posted by: ace on October 28, 2005 06:04 PM

lol, it was me. Can't you tell by my sardonic wit? But okay, I'll send you an email.

Posted by: bbeck on October 28, 2005 06:07 PM

thanks. Just to make sure I'm not outing bbeck against her wishes.

Posted by: ace on October 28, 2005 06:11 PM

Yeah, Ace, that was definitely me, and you also have my permission to photshop that picture so I appear to be buck naked.

Posted by: bbeck on October 28, 2005 06:12 PM

Hah. Now I know that wasn't bbeck.

See? My prudence is, ummm, prudent.

Posted by: ace on October 28, 2005 06:13 PM

Yeah, Ace, that was definitely me, and you also have my permission to photshop that picture so I appear to be buck naked.

DEFINTELY not me. Ace has pics he doesn't need to photoshop. ;)

Please cite specific PROOF that Wilson lied to the Congressional committee.

Posted by: Geek, Esq. on October 28, 2005 06:19 PM

No, it's in the record. If you were the "expert" you claim to be, you'd know all about his statement and the smoking gun memo in which Plame put forward his name.

Do your own homework, Legal Eagle.

Posted by: ace on October 28, 2005 06:24 PM

No, let's just kill the lying m*therf*cking son of a skank whore (Wilson, I mean. Not Geek, Esq.).

Posted by: Sharkman on October 28, 2005 08:54 PM

The same Joe Wilson that George H W Bush called a "hero?" Wilson isn't the issue. Libby, Rove, Bush, and Cheney are the issue. You can call Wilson however many names you like, but you cannot obscure the fact that (if the allegations in the indictment are correct), senior govenment officials outed a CIA agent in a political vendetta and then lied about it to the grand jury. That's the issue. Wake up.

Posted by: the seeker on October 28, 2005 09:03 PM

"Please cite specific PROOF that Wilson lied to the Congressional committee."

"No, it's in the record."

Wow, that's the weakest response yet. You make a claim, and insist that the people that think you are wrong do the work to back it up. In other words, you don't have a leg to stand on. I've done plenty of homework on this, and you're just wrong.

Posted by: Chris on October 28, 2005 09:04 PM

Yeah? Care to make it intesting, asshole?

It will take me ten minutes to find the memo, and I'll find it, but I intend to be paid for doing so.

$50 will buy you a citation to the memo in which Plame offers her husband for the Niger trip.

Pay me, asshole, and it's yours. Otherwise, just google it your fucking self. I don't do bitch-work for bitches.

Posted by: ace on October 28, 2005 09:08 PM

I don't play fetch for ignornat liberals because this is their stock in trade. They demand "proof" of everything, provide none themselves, and then when you take the time to find the document for them (which anyone passing themselves off as being "informed" on the subject should already know about) they just say, "Oh, that doesn't prove anything."

So let's skip the middleman. Just assume I provided the document, and now you say, "Oh, that doesn't prove anything anyway."

You know you're going to anyway. Why the charade? Why pretend this document matters to your "thinking" one way or another? Why falsely claim that this evidence will be weighed at all?

Liar.

Posted by: ace on October 28, 2005 09:13 PM

How odd, the mainstream press didn't think Ms. Plame had been "outted" when they filed their Amicus Brief to try to keep Judith Miller out of jail. But even more oddly, they continue to argue on their front pages that just such an "outting" occurred. Which is it, lefty fucknozzles? Read, and enjoy, morons: https://www.spj.org/briefs/032305_MillerCooper.pdf

God, what retards your trolls are. Something is not a "fact" if it hasn't been established.

Let's try similar retard troll logic: Hey troll! You cannot obscure THE FACT that (if I can prove you murdered a bum behind Walmart last week) you are a cold blooded killer!

God, what a waste of time. My dog is smarter than these assholes.

Well, seeker, he may have been a hero at one time, but later became a zero. And it is sad when it happens. As proof I cite the military career of one Benedict Arnold. His actions before Quebec and at Saratoga were truly heroic, and it was only later that he fell away.

The Senate Intelligence Committee report is all the proof you should require, if proof you actually want. As a bonus, I will note that Mr. Fitzgerald did not charge anyone for letting out Ms. Plames' identity, hence she could not have been covert.

Mr. Libby's problems are solely due to Mr. Libby's actions during the investigation, not due to the outing of Agent 99 1/2.

Posted by: Mikey on October 28, 2005 10:50 PM

NRO? Political hacks all of 'em doesn't prove a thing need more proof show me the actual real genuine receipt where Saddam Hussein persanolly signed for yellowcake uranium from that wonderful Nigerian man who keeps sending me emails and mayube jsut maybe that would be enough proof........but I doubt it.

Here's something even better - CNN transcript where Joe Wilson confesses to Wolf Blitzer:

My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity.

The Seeker: "Wilson isn't the issue. Libby, Rove, Bush, and Cheney are the issue. This is the most factless pile of tripe I've read so far today.

I'm afraid, that based on the allegations you've brought forth, Joe Wilson is indeed, "THE ISSUE." The FACT that he was proven to have lied, and had already been discredited, DESTROYS you left-wingers' "argument" that the Bush adminstration was trying to, 'smear,' him. Your pathetic attempts to tie all this into a cover-up of Bush's, "lies," show just how desperate you are to try and salvage something, out of what has essentially turned out toe be NOTHING.

Posted by: JannyMae on October 29, 2005 02:26 PM

"The same Joe Wilson that George H W Bush called a "hero?"

That's the one.

History's an odd thing. People change. Ideological landscapes change. Allegiances shift. Personalities curdle.

News flash: with a few exceptions on either side (Mother Theresa, *pace* Hitchens, and oh, to pick someone in the news of late - Saddam Hussein, on the other) people aren't, and certainly don't remain, "bad guys" or "heroes."

Apart from Tim Robbins, of course. I got a feeling that he's really out to save the world.

Posted by: Knemon on October 29, 2005 05:21 PM

The same Joe Wilson that George H W Bush called a "hero?"

This is my favorite defense of Wilson yet.

C'mon, you assholes, just cut to the chase. Tell us that Wilson's mother loves him.

No! Wait, I got better: Try marching around shouting "Jesus loves Joe Wilson!" That oughta make those knuckle-dragging religious folk think!

@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.
