Hoist The Black Flag, Today at 4PM Eastern

At Rightalk.

Our guest today is Jack Kelly, national security columnist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Toledo Blade, and a nationally syndicated columnist to boot. We'll discuss what went right with the feds' Katrina response, and what went wrong with Dan Rather's brain-wiring.

We'll be having him on right away, due to a major screw-up (mine) in scheduling the appearance, which means you'll be spared of my long-winded blather of an opening babble. We'll save that for the last half of the show.

How the hell can I get anyone to call in? Let's just call today "Open Line Tuesday" or "Anything Goes Day." 866-884-TALK.

Did I mention that the call's charge will be discretely billed to "GLOBAL TRANSEXUAL PORNOGRAPHY INTERNATIONAL"?

No, just kidding. It's free.

But the third caller will receive my special "mix videotape" of the hottest scenes from The Crying Game and Dressed to Kill mixed with Jamie Gumm from Silence of the Lambs.

It's a keeper. Sooooo hot.

(Sniff) Sometimes, a person calls in and the hosts don't want to hear from him, er, or her. (sniff)

Bet you never thought that such big mouths on your blog could be so shy in person, did you?

Posted by: on September 20, 2005 03:29 PM

Ace, speaking of Jamie Gumm, I take it my email on this didn't meet the Ace of Spaces HQ Standard Of Quality?

Oh well. I'll just sit here, stitching.

Cheers,
Dave at Garfield Ridge

It's quiet out there... too quiet

"The Al Gore of journalism."

Priceless.

Posted by: Sobek on September 20, 2005 04:30 PM

Well, if his show wasn't on during my store rush hour...

Has it ever occurred to Sheehan that the people of NO want the National Guard there?

Galloway is on the Michael Medved radio show acting like a total asshat.

Hey, my kids take ONE class a week outside of school, and it's on Tuesday from 3:30-4:30 CST, plus the time it takes for transportation. I CAN'T call in (although I really don't think Ace means he wants ME to call, anyway, no matter how desperate he gets).

And Laura's working.

What about you OTHER people???

Later,
bbeck

I'm taking next Tuesday afternoon off, provided my relatives from the coast aren't camped out here, and calling in.

I'll keep it topical. I promise.

Did Jack Kelly get asked about the column by Jack Lessenberry (Blade Omsbudsman) in Sunday's Blade?

Pretty good piece about Kelly's inaccuracies on Katrina response -- some of which, to his credit, Kelly corrected in the next column.

I would have like to ask Kelly about THIS on-going nonsense in the Federal response to Katrina.

They STILL can't cut the tape to get donated food to victims??? It's an outrage, and heads should roll. Bush should make some calls and get things MOVING.

Um.

You do know the Mirror is a tabloid, right? Show me a Guardian or a BBC story, and I might be more inclined to believe it.

But the Mirror?

Nope.

Somebody's stuck on stupid.

Posted by: lauraw on September 21, 2005 10:28 AM

lauraw, lol! For this one we might have to bump up the adjectives a little. Maybe 'mired' instead of 'stuck'?

Posted by: BrewFan on September 21, 2005 10:49 AM

He's soaking in it, Madge!

Posted by: lauraw on September 21, 2005 11:08 AM

Hard to believe a newspaper can run a story quoting exactly nobody by name. Not a single source.

Yet the Left will suck it down like cold beer, pausing only long enough to bust on Faux News.

He's soaking in it, Madge!

I'm suprised a youngster like yourself remembers that commercial! Any bets sometime in the near future we'll get a link to the National Enquirer from tubby?

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
