"Mother Peace" Accuses President of Being "War Criminal"

...while commenting at the Daily Kos. What a shock she's a fan.

But before you file this in the same shit different day category, note that the President she accuses of war crimes is (drum roll)... Bill Clinton.

War crimes? Bill Clinton? Crimes of omission (allowing the Rwanda genocide), perhaps. But actual war crimes? The man was pretty much allergic to the use of force, unless, of course, there were big doings in the grand jury investigating his serial perjuries and obstructions of justice.

Gee, I wonder what Maureen Dowd will say about this. After all, Mother Peace has that coveted "absolute moral authority." Well, I don't really wonder. I know she'll ignore it, in favor of making some slapdash comparison of Mary Landrieu and Roy Nagin and Michael Brown to The Mod Squad (in a Hee-Haw level hi-larious column titled "One White, One Black, One Blonde") or something equally trivial.

Of course, thanks to the Times' new pay-for-neigh program, we can't read Maureen Dowd anymore.

The New York Times

No longer giving the people what they don't want.

Thanks to the Blogometer, especially interesting today.

Well he did bomb the crap out of Bosnia for like 90 straight days, until they cried uncle. However, according to my liberal translator that is not actually a 'war' or perhaps even 'warlike'.

Maybe it was for giving a young fat girl a cigar.

Mother Peace is also letting fly on HRC:

"She knows that the war is a lie but she is waiting for the right time to say it....You say it or you are losing your job."

"...we can't read Maureen Dowd anymore." You say that like it's a bad thing. Does anyone really care what that dingbat thinks about anything?

Posted by: Enas Yorl on September 19, 2005 02:13 PM

What did "Hee-Haw" ever do to you to deserve such a low-class association with Maureen Dowd's humor? I'll have you know, sir, that compared to Maureen Dowd, "Hee-Haw" was cutting edge comedy.

Those greedy capatalists!
This only hurts their base, who are too cheap to buy the paper in the first place. The rest of the world doesn't care.

Sorry Jolt cola wore off, it should be capitalist.

Bill Clinton...Crimes of omission

Wait a minute ace, I thought Bill Clinton's crimes were crimes of emission...

Posted by: OregonMuse on September 19, 2005 04:03 PM

Are people actually going to PAY to read Dowd, Krugman, and Rich? Talk about suckers born every minute....

How can Krugman get away with continually defying the public editor? Doesn't that post have any authority?

Posted by: Dulce on September 19, 2005 04:20 PM

"same shit, different day"

That's an odd synchronicity. I don't think I'd ever heard that phrase until this past weekend, when I read a recent (and not that good, but that's hardly a shock by now) Stephen King novel which contains that phrase many, many times. Maybe a comment on his own career's coda?

Posted by: Knemon on September 19, 2005 04:46 PM

And I hear you'll have to pay an additional $19.95 to get Krugman's corrections (and will also require user to go to upgrade to broadband)

Ohhhhh, they're eating each other alive over there. Here's one example.

Okay, you can stop now with comments that talk about the "occupation of New Orleans" and now this latest comment about Clinton, just please STOP!!

You know, I was totally with you, right up until the last week of the "occupation of Crawford," when you started making some really off-the-wall comments.

I'm sorry for your loss, Cindy, but I really think that the disaster in New Orleans trumps it. Look, I want to see GWB burn in Hell as much as the next DKOS member, but we need to frame it so that the catastrophe in Iraq can be attributed to the same incomptence demonstrated by the response to Hurricane Katrina.

Heh. So she spends months making nutty allegations against Repulicans while the lefties nod their heads in agreement. Then she starts making similar statements about Democrats, and they are forced to refute them.

Perfect. Karl Rove couldn't have planned it any better. Watch how quickly this woman's nuttery suddenly becomes an issue in the MSM now that she's attacking their side.

Posted by: on September 19, 2005 05:52 PM

Sorry, that was me above. Loose stool.

Posted by: The Warden on September 19, 2005 05:52 PM

Karl Rove couldn't have planned it any better.

Are you kidding? Of course Karl planned this whole thing. He's got an RNC operative in Cindy's camp, wearing earth shoes and pretending to be a vegetarian, who's writing talking points for Cindy.

The part I love is that he perfectly timed Hurricane Katrina to strike when the Crawford vigil was about over so that Cindy would go apeshit to get more attention.

Posted by: Michael on September 19, 2005 07:13 PM

St. Cindy turning on St. Bill? Is this even metaphysically possible?

Rove is truly the prince of darkness.

What part of bombing, then invading and occupying territory of a sovereign nation is not a war crime, especially since the UN did not bless the Kosovo action until after the fact. (Russia would have vetoed.)

Kosovo is still Serbian sovereign territory and there's no end in sight to this quagmire.

At least with Iraq or Afghanistan we had legal reasons.

What part of bombing, then invading and occupying territory of a sovereign nation do you think IS a war crime?

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
