Bush's Fault-- New Orleans Declined Offer To Fill Empty Train With Hundreds of Evacuees

But it won't be widely reported by the MSM, as it contradicts the narrative of their faith-based journalism:

In fact, while the last regularly scheduled train out of town had left a few hours earlier, Amtrak had decided to run a "dead-head" train that evening to move equipment out of the city. It was headed for high ground in Macomb, Miss., and it had room for several hundred passengers. "We offered the city the opportunity to take evacuees out of harm's way," said Amtrak spokesman Cliff Black. "The city declined."

So the ghost train left New Orleans at 8:30 p.m., with no passengers on board.

Oh wait-- Amtrak is a federally subsized corporation. It had the duty to order Nagin to put his citizens on the train.

I commented earlier that there were *5* rail lines that intersect in NOLA.

As a port it would also have had a switching yard nearby somewhere -- and that switching yard would have had at least one switching engine to assemble outbound trains.

Makes you wonder whether the media is going to bother to report any sort of context or facts regarding what happened before and after this storm.

Malkin has a great post on another example of media bias.

The WoPo article this comes from still lays almost all blame at the feet of the feds--com equipment in Iraq, lack of understanding, lack of coordination, lack of communication, Bush in a cocoon, etc.

Washington Post == Pravda on the Potomac

Posted by: Tony on September 11, 2005 09:35 PM

none of this is going to matter. I've seen so many facts this week, you would have to be a fool to ignore them.

or motivated by something else.

you would have to be a fool to ignore them.

IOW, 99.999% of the moonbat left (Kinsley excepted)

You know, one would think the hurricane hit ONLY New Orleans.

Stupid frickin media.

Right now, I truly hate them all.

And I have a journalism degree that I now completely regret getting.

Well, I feel better about dropping out of jounalism school now.

Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on September 11, 2005 11:17 PM

You should. I had to go to grad school to get a real job.

Posted by: Slublog on September 11, 2005 11:19 PM

I enlisted in the Air Force after I dropped out. The politics involved were hard to accept and I felt like enlisting would wash away some of the liberal dirt. Just in time for the Gulf War.

Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on September 11, 2005 11:31 PM

I'm so angry, so pissed off, I can barely type this.

Just visited DU. Those inhuman douchebags actually seem disappointed that more bodies haven't been found and they're crying cover up.

you know what? Fuck the left. I'm angry at the Republican party, but I'm not going to let these assholes win.

I'm voting straight "R" next year.

GOOD timing, DBS! ;) I still think you made the right decision.

LOL. Slu, WHY even GO to the DUmmies? Don't you already know what they're going to say? Just wait until Michael Moore gets started.

Yeah, I know...but sometimes I like to see what they're talking about.

But man, this was bad. I'm getting the impression that these *&&&^#ers would actually be gleeful if the body count was high.

Posted by: Slublog on September 11, 2005 11:57 PM

Of COURSE they'd be happy about the deaths, just like they're thrilled every time a soldier or an innocent gets killed in Iraq. They don't give a flip about people's lives, it's the agenda that counts...and the more people who end up dead, the more chance they think they'll have at winning an election.

But I think they're wrong, at least where Louisiana is concerned. I sincerely doubt Katrina is going to help the Democrats in LA one freakin' bit regardless of the body count. Local folks are going to remember who was in charge when Katrina happened.

High body count == good propaganda
Low body count == Leave it to Beaver reruns

Posted by: Tony on September 12, 2005 01:09 AM

The MSM is actually viewing themselves as "patriotic" by ignoring these facts, along with helping terrorists.

Posted by: eddiebear on September 12, 2005 06:27 AM

Those rethuglikkkan alligators are hiding the bodies!

Posted by: Ken on September 12, 2005 08:48 AM

May I point out that the yard in NOLA also would contain several empty box cars?

OK, I hear people complaining already. But it's the warm shit theory; Warm Shit is warm shit, and smells like it. But in a choice between getting close to the warm shit or freezing to death....
