No fucking way. Ain't buyin' it. It's still funny, but come on. "Whole Lotta Love" is priceless, though.

In other rock news, thanks to the Cake Eater Chronicles:

Two former members of the rock band Guns N' Roses have sued frontman Axl Rose for allegedly naming himself sole administrator of the group's copyrights.

The suit was filed Aug. 17 in federal court by Slash and Duff, otherwise known as Saul Hudson and Michael McKagan. It accuses Rose of profiting from their revenue shares to the tune of about $500,000 a year.Saul Hudson? Oh, my...the magic is gone.

Full story here.

I am in my local music store at least once a week. I don't play any instruments to speak of, but I have a lot of friends who work there, and the general atmosphere is a blast to be in and around.

Fucking figures.

This guy's one of the main reasons I hate going into music stores.

Criminy. You'd think I'd realize by now that line breaks end code.

Here's the excerpt:

One of my friends was managing a local band when he found himself scrambling for an opening act for them one Friday evening.

He jumped on a website and randomly chose an act willing to open for more established bands. He then called the bar where his band was playing and inquired whether this potential opening act was any good. The bartender said, "I think they're downright entertaining!"

Like an idiot, my friend took this as an endorsement and went ahead and booked them. They came out and played the most atrocious set I've ever heard. I'm not sure they even really knew how to play their instruments, and the lead singer spent every "song" screeching and yowling the same 5 notes in his vocal range over the racket.

But sitting there in the front row was a table full of adoring groupies - fat, ugly, wildabeast groupies, but groupies nonetheless.

SONOFABITCH. WHAT THE HELL ARE MY AUDITION TAPES DOING ON THE INTERNET??

Someone's getting a heat-seeking lawyer right up the fucking squeakhole for this.

You know..as sad as "The Rawker" appears to be, I've heard rumors that he's sold a screenplay to Hollywood.

Posted by: Jack M. on August 26, 2005 03:19 PM

C'mon, Jack, let's be honest-- EVERYBODY'S sold a screenplay to Hollywood, it's not that hard.

Oh. Yeesh. I'm sorry, did I say that out loud?

Cheers,
Dave at Garfield Ridge

This guy needs a t-shirt. And I just happen to have one I'm a little too embarassed to actually wear myself...

Posted by: spongeworthy on August 26, 2005 04:26 PM

Spongeworthy:

Um, I've actually been wearing my AOSHQ tee shirt. In public. Are you now telling me that this is some kind of fashion faux pax? Cuz, I don't actually subscribe to GQ or anything, so maybe I don't get it.

Posted by: Michael on August 26, 2005 08:23 PM

How did you guys get Ace of Spades t-shirts? Cause I would like, totally buy one if I could.

Kevin: I've got an XXL in very nice condition. It's got a lot of sentimental value, which is worth approximately $50 in today's market.

Of course I love Ace, but I'm a capitalist at heart.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
