To Lodi Via Pakistan [New Vintage]

It looks like small town America is not immune to a terrorist attack.

Five men from the town of Lodi, California were arrested on charges of lying to federal agents when being questioned about having ties to Al Qaeda. . Apparently these guys are American citizens and spent quite a bit of time in Pakistan learning how to kill Americans.

As heard from my clock radio this morning, Lodi is one of those quaint little towns, known for their growing wineries, agriculture output and cherry trees. According to the City of Lodi website, it has a population of 58,950 (as of January 1, 2001) and is contained in an area of 12 square miles. Sort of a picture perfect place. Go ahead. Take a look at the pics.

There is a growing Pakistani immigrant population which started way back in the 1920's, most of whom are from the Attock district, also a picturesque area known to have mild temperatures and fertile soils. There are now over two thousand Pakistanis residing, most of which do not speak English. They have created a warm community where they gather together to feel as if they are back home.

One immigrant compares his two homes:

“[Attock] is like Lodi in many ways,” said Shujah Khan, who came here in 1985 when he was 20 years old. “It is rural, with many farms.”

And yet another immigrant shows how thankful he is.

Still, he is grateful for the economic rewards he has accrued, including ownership of a house on Tokay Street and a Dodge van. And, he is confident he will find another job to support his wife and infant daughter, Aisha. While some Pakistanis come to Lodi with the plan to someday return to their native soil, very few do, he said. “Life is better here,” Shujah Khan said. “Like me, we come here and get a decent home and a decent car and a decent life for our family, and we just live on.

It truly makes me angry that a bunch of evil thugs can take what could be a dream and turn it into a complete and total nightmare.

I think Mideast terrorism expert Slick Rick (by way of Snoop Dogg) said it best:

"Lodi Dodi, we likes to party/
We don't cause trouble, We don't bother nobody"

I guess the lyrics now have to be modified to some extent.

Right in my backyard. Lodi's just an agricultural 'burg between Sacramento and Stockton. A place you stop to get gas and a cheeseburger on your way down the valley.
Robert Mondavi grows his table wine grapes there.
Surprising that this would be a hotbed of Al-nutbags? No. It's much easier for extremists to breed hate in rural conclaves than in big cities. In rural areas, they associate solely with their kin. Everyone minds their own business as long as you don't make a fuss. In cities, they have to interact with lots of others and are more likely to be tipped off. I'd feel sorry for the rest of the Islamic community in the Valley, but since I have not seen one single story on the local news the past few days of members of that community jumping up and down denouncing this kind of behavior, and distancing themselves from it, that it is acceptable behaviour from their point of view. If there is such a thing as reformed, moderate Islam, it better get a voice fast.

The VIRGINS laugh at your pathetic efforts to stop the Army of Allah from engulfing you like a desert whirlwind. We use your so-called civil liberties and your idiotic Liberal laws against you. Your Liberal media is our greatest weapon against you. The insolent expression of Hamid Hayat says it all: we Moslems are Allah's people and we shall eradicate the unbeliever from the face of the earth. Remember infidel: where the Moslem sets his foot, he occupies the land, and we are already in your back yard.

Morris Dees used his considerable wealth suing and spying on the KKK to bring about their demise leaving all other extremeist groups to prosper. In light of the Islamic invasion of the US, I wonder if he ever has any second thoughts about that? Nah, a Liberal? What was I thinking?

Gromulim

Oh yes there is such a thing. We believe in beheading with a big, sharp, scimitar in a quick, humane way vs. the Nick Berg killers who use small, rusty, knives like sawing slices off of a turkey breast while the victim shrieks, chokes and gurgles on his own blood. You see?

Lodi stunned by allegations

The investigation and allegations were the buzz throughout Lodi on Wednesday.

Damn! If you can't trust a bunch of al-Quida from Pakistan, who can you trust?

"As our agencies have long demonstrated, we have zero tolerance for hate crimes and acts of retaliation," ... "And to those who would seek to retaliate against Muslim persons for the actions at issue in this case, Special Agent Keith Slotter and I have one simple word of advice -- don't."

Goddamn! The terrorists are safer in Lodi than the citizens! And we can count on our vigilant law enforcement officials to make sure of it! I'll bet this dumb speech strikes fear into every al-Quida member in this country!

“Life is better here,” Shujah Khan said. “Like me, we come here and get a decent home and a decent car and a decent life for our family, and we just live on.

Until the day when our al-Quida sleeper cell is activated at which time we detonate our nuclear suitcase bomb in LA.

A friend of mine from Sacramento said the CCR song had it about right: "Oh no, stuck in Lodi again."

Posted by: David Gillies on June 9, 2005 06:11 PM

For the life of me, I can't see how making sure that Moslems remain safe here in this country makes us all any safer at all. It would seem to be just the opposite! Perhaps if the locals didn't patroinize their jobs and were unpleasant, uncooperative, and worse, they'd maybe want to go home, or to France.

Damn you, Yaron, I was sure I'd be the only one making that joke.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
