Yet Another Celebrity With a Blog: Darth Vader

Apparently the Dark Lord of the Sith wants you to know all about his opinions on Radiohead's Kid A vs. OK Computer.

His opinion? Both rock, but they're overrated, and Radiohead should have their brains scrambled via the Jedi Lobotomy Trick and forced to work in the megagypsum mines of Ballath'sphee.

Supposedly pretty funny, but I'm just putting it up here on the premise alone.

Thanks to Richard and to Ken Wheaton.

War's On Update: Don't be misled by Rebel lies; the Empire lives, and the war goes on.

Let me take this moment to dust off the best Weekly Standard piece ever:

Cheers,

Effin' Firefox.

The Case For The Empire.

War or no war, that is some funny schtick. The headers alone are hilarious. C'mon Ace, fess up: you're writing this blog, right? Or is it Hoke?

I mean, the reference to midget porn gave you away.

Posted by: Joan of Argghh! on April 29, 2005 03:10 PM

I'm not so much worried about Vader than I am about Grand General Thrawn.

Posted by: Greg on April 29, 2005 03:19 PM

Joan,

Nope, ain't got nothin' to do with me.

Actually, I've been tipped to it a couple of times before; I just finally bothered to link it.

Posted by: ace on April 29, 2005 03:30 PM

Thrawn was an intriguing character. Lucas should have made movies from Zahn's trilogy. Just thinking about it sends shivers up my geeky spine.

Posted by: Stormy70 on April 29, 2005 03:31 PM

Maybe it's Allah?

Posted by: someone on April 29, 2005 03:41 PM

Ain't me. This well ran dry a long time ago.

Posted by: Allah on April 29, 2005 03:49 PM

Stromy70: Yes, I would wait in line for a movie of that calibur. Both Grand Admiral Thrawn and Palleon lead interesting campaigns.

Currently I'm reading the "Hand of Thrawn" duaology, also by Zahn. This man is a genius at writing in the style of the Star Wars universe. What other writer could make me feel almost sad about the archenemy getting killed?

Posted by: Greg on April 29, 2005 03:57 PM

Zahn kept the flame alive. That's for sure.

I'm actually heartened to see Lord Vader's blog. even though he whines a bit like some other bloggers who won't be mentioned, at least he's decisive and getting things done.
If Rumsfeld had a blog, it'd probably be like Lord Vader's.

Posted by: Iblis on April 29, 2005 05:00 PM

My husband and I both love Zahn's Star Wars series. I agree, Greg, that his villians are so well written that you are sad when they are defeated. Since I'm partial to the Dark Side, I'll have to keep tabs on Vader's blog.

Posted by: Stormy70 on April 29, 2005 05:34 PM

You shoulda seen me finish "The Last Command". I coulda sworn I was having a nerd-attack by the end. Heart rate up, sweating, etc...

Posted by: Greg on April 29, 2005 05:37 PM

Batman to Catwoman: "The odds are about right, four against one."

Robin, coming out of hiding: "Four against two, Batman!"

Batman: "Robin!"

Robin: "I couldn't resist. You were taken in by her, but I'm too young for that sort of thing."

Anyone who holds that opinion of OK Computer--arguably (at least by me) the best CD ever made, with Kid A trailing only by a nose--is a creep, and a weirdo. So I hope this isn't you, ace; I'm kind of getting to like you. In my own way.

Posted by: dulce on April 29, 2005 07:00 PM

You know, as the events of the Clone Wars plays out, The Case for the Empire is even more true.
