Live! Nude! Bloggers! Unite!

Roger Simon breaks the embargo and makes an open call for bloggers to join his (and Instapundit's, and Tim Blair's, and Belmont Club's, and etc.'s) "Pajamas Media" project.

The idea seems to be some sort of collective bargaining to secure more advertising, and higher rates for advertising, on blogs.

There is also something called the Blog News Service, which I'm not sure I really understand.

Cool. Does this mean we can co-opt the spammers?

I'd really like to sell Viagggra and Seealice on my site, but I don't know the easiest way how.

Cheers,
Dave at Garfield Ridge

Don't you mean HERBAL VIAGRA, Dave?

Posted by: Monty on April 29, 2005 11:46 AM

Simon says he's not trying to go around anyone, he likes the blogads people.

That don't got the "ring of truth" to it.

Collective bargaining for blog ad rates? Crikey, I'm not only a blogger, but I am also a small business man who advertises on blogs. I can scratch out some inexpensive blog ads on some medium traffic blogs, but if the rates all go up at once, they're going to price me out.

Trust me, it does. I know a little more than I can say. BlogAds does one thing, they're looking to do something else.

Mainline Furniture presents the Ace of Spades blog, brought to you by Val-U-Rite vodka, and Viagra, the real stuff

Posted by: brak on April 29, 2005 12:01 PM

Why can't you say? I don't understand...if it is advertising, how will it function different from blogads.

Ace, you just full of secrets these days...first the talk show, now this...whatelse are you hiding?

Posted by: tinkerbelle on April 29, 2005 12:12 PM

I can't say because I signed an Non Disclosure Agreement. Legally binding.

Posted by: ace on April 29, 2005 12:15 PM

Now, I *assume* Simon et al. will be making the details widely available to anyone who inquires.

But I don't know that for a fact.

So until someone tells me the NDA is no longer binding, I'm required to honor it.

Posted by: ace on April 29, 2005 12:16 PM

I'm glad Roger's not FOS there. I don't understand how crazy blog money works, so I kneel before your expertise.

OTOH, you said nobody tells you nuttin', but you have a ND agreement, which would mean they told you something. So you might be FOS, too, and in on the screwing of the blogads people!

(I'm goofing on you here, which is risky where crazy blog money's concerned, I know!)

(And like I would GAS about the blogads people anyway.)

Ace: See you just ruined the "Ace Vision Thing" I had going in my head.

Earlier this week you reference your mom...kinda makes you sweet. Then you have this whole secret, mysterious thing going...kinda makes you sexy. Then you bring out the whole, "Non-disclosure agreement...legal thing...blah, blah, blah". What are you going to disclose next, you are the size of a gnome with a large forehead and you have an extra row of teeth?

You really know how to kill a mood. I think I liked you better in my head.

Thanks, thanks a lot

I don't read union blogs.

Posted by: SJKevin on April 29, 2005 01:17 PM

I signed that thing, too. Wonder what's up with Roger's suddenly going public?

Posted by: James Joyner on April 29, 2005 03:22 PM

There are alot of interests that would love to kill the blogosphere and silence men of integrity like our Ace. So there is some appeal to the notion of safety and strength in numbers. Wretchard, Blair, et al at the helm are shining stars in the firmament of the blogoverse.
But...how long before the lawyers are crawling up your arses like polyester panties?
how long before Babs Boxer and Komrade Hillary! are on you like stink on ...ummm...sows?
Which one of you will wake up w/ your head spinning round 360's --spewing green pea soup--and find you're possessed by the spirit of Wank-ette?

the next 3 yrs are a critical growth period for the blogosphere indeed.

Are you kidding me? Right of center bloggers forming a fricking 'blogging union'? Most conservatives despise unions as the 'Ken Salazar's Anti-Christ'. Tim Blair need to pull his head out of his ass and let the free market work...
