Iraqi Civilian Tips Lead To Arrest of Six Terrorists

The ACLU immediately protested what it calls "the Iraqi version of the Stalinist TIPS program," previously known as "asking people questions about a crime."

This happened over the weekend, but I didn't notice. Six suspects detained in shooting of helicopter carrying civilian passengers:

The Iraqi civilian told soldiers he knew where a blue pickup truck used in the attack was parked and led them to the site, the military said. When the soldiers reached the area, several other local residents confirmed the initial tip and showed them where the suspects lived, the statement said.

Soldiers started to search two houses at 12:30 a.m. (4:30 p.m. EDT Friday). At the first house, three men were captured and bomb-making materials were seized. At the second house, three more suspects were detained, the military said.

Sounds like somebody else should start working on an exit strategy.

Thanks to Weaver posting at The Perfect World. His post is followed up by the typical whining by one of the most despicable persons I've ever come across:

The article doesn't say whether it is Shiite civilians using US troops to persecute Sunnis, which would further inflame sectarian violence.

Yeah. Okay.

It occurred to me that maybe the left is simply too punch drunk to think rationally, or even humanely, anymore. Maybe Bush needs to let them "win" one, like you do with a child when playing Candyland. Then maybe they'll go back to simply being annoying and hateful, rather than affirmatively anti-human.

"Then maybe they'll go back to simply being annoying and hateful, rather than affirmatively anti-human."

Ace, a truer statement cannot be made.

Bush has gotta stay above the fray. Fortunately, Republicans in the Senate are always ready to step in and pitch a sympathy win to the left.

Ho. Lee. Shit. I mean, I knew they were desperate enough to say/do anything to shine a bad light on Bush, but condeming a raid that kept IEDs off the streets and out of American soldiers' chest cavities as "racist"... just, wow.

Completely unrelated, but possibly useful:

Maybe your webmaster/mistress could look into using cookies to "remember" personal information? That's how I do it when I want to keep track of user-level information. It's pretty simple, too -- document.cookie, IIRC, contains all the cookies concatenated together, semicolon-separated. Consider this:

document.cookie += "userName="+ document.comments_form.author.value;

Then, in an onload handler,

var userStart = document.cookie.indexOf("userName=");
var userName = document.cookie.substring( userStart,
document.cookie.indexOf(";", userStart));

Obviously, email and URL work the same way. Also, you'd want to add conditionals to the onload handler so that you don't try to read the userName if it's not in the cookie (e.g., their settings have not been saved), but otherwise...

Hope that helps?

Is nanyehi the same ninny who always claimed to be a Native American on the Fray?

Yes.
