We will!

A friend had a double mastectomy last friday.

Not to be trite, but it does help (lowers your chances) to breastfeed:) Use 'em or lose 'em, ladies.

Not only trite, but in this context, offensive.

Well, Thank God we have such a wonderful success rate in treating breast cancer now. All the women I have known that have had it have beaten it.

How much ya'll want to bet that Kos commenters and DU commenters are already making crude remarks?

It's trite but true. As a woman, I'm glad that they've come so far with Breast Cancer research. And, I think medical facts (such as breast feeding reducing your risks) are a wonderful thing. But, you know, I guess I could just post anonymously.

Why did you phrase the line "those who pray may want to include her" instead of "please add Ms. Ingram to your prayers." I can't imagine that you're afraid of offending the atheists that read your site because you're made of sterner stuff than that.

Oh no, I've figured it out... they got to you... the ads, the revenue streams... you've sold out ;) please bring back the old Ace.

Seriously though... why the strange turn of phrase?

NjRob, once they get big, they all turn PC...tsk. tsk.

You're fooling yourselves if you think breast cancer research has come a long way. In one sense it has, but if you examine the stats post 5 years, it's abysmal. There is also a rare, but extremely fatal form of breast cancer that is triggered by pregnancy. Advising women not to become pregnant in case they may have the potential of developing this rare form of breast cancer is not any more helpful then advising women to get pregnant and breast feed to reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Why did you phrase the line "those who pray may want to include her" instead of "please add Ms. Ingram to your prayers."

Ron, I took his turn of phrase as an acknowledgement of the fact that he has both believers and atheists as readers and he's giving a heads-up to the believers. That's not quite the same thing as being politically correct. If he was being PC he wouldn't even have dared to MENTION prayer.

I also took it as a way of making the request without exposing his own personal beliefs, which he likely would prefer to keep personal.

Later,
bbeck

Breast Cancer used to be a death sentence. Now a days, everyone knows a breast cancer survivor. I have one in my family.

I'm sorry if my flippant remark (I have said a prayer for Laura, since I am both a listener and a Catholic) - offended you. Wait, no I'm not.

Laura is a great American and a great conservative. She deserves all our support. I hope everyone will take a few moments to drop by and wish her well. You can do so at her "Get Well" page:

Please join me in wishing her a speedy recovery.
