It's Star Wars Day at Garfield RidgeA link to the trailer, in case you weren't watching The O.C. last night. I can't even imagine such a thing, myself. And the main reason I'm linking this at all: Click on "the Star Wars kid" in the above post, download the first video -- an embarassing video of a, let us say, husky-sized boy doing "kewl" (but not very graceful) maneuvers with a long staff. Half the time he's hitting himself with the thing. The other half of the time he appears to be in danger of falling to the ground from either a lack of coordination or a brief epileptic seizure. Once you've had enough pathos, start clicking on the rest of the videos -- especially the Star Wars edit and Matrix edit. People have taken this poor kid and made him a laughingstock. I feel bad for the kid. But the videos are pretty funny. He's the new Tourist Guy. Blood in the Water Update: Well, it turns out that the "Star Wars kid" isn't quite as new as I imagined... unless you consider something that became the rage in 2003 "new." Check out the comments to see me get thoroughly pimp-slapped for my wretched ignorance. My first thought was just to ban all the weisenheimers who thought they could come into my house, as the kids say, and have some japes at my expense, as your great-grandfather was too hip to even say, but then I realized: Funny stuff. Funny stuff that I didn't have to write. Funny stuff that was created with no effort on my part whatsoever. The best kind of funny stuff, I think. Sure, it's at my expense, but I'm a 6 on Sloth and only a 4 on Pride, so it's all good, baby. posted by Ace at 04:33 PM
CommentsOh, you're about to get flamed, Ace. You might want to claim irony before the posts start rolling in. Posted by: See-Dubya on March 11, 2005 04:35 PM
Star Wars Kid and the various spinoffs have been around for some time, and it's been reported that the boy has been traumatized over his infamy. I say he needs to develop a sense of humor about it and then SUE for a li'l profit over his humiliation. Later, Posted by: bbeck on March 11, 2005 04:42 PM
You are joking arent you Ace? Please tell me your joking. If your not, im going to have to assume my grandpa has started to blog under the name "Ace." How rad is Windows 95 gonna be, huh?

Hey Ace, that's nothing - I heard about this super AWESOME dancing baby animation! It's RAD! Posted by: Bill from INDC on March 11, 2005 07:12 PM
Hey, lay off Ace everybody! He's been so busy playing Intellivision football, and Combat on the Atari 2600 that there hasn't been much time left for "surfing" for fat star wars dweeb clips. And that's not even counting the amount of time he's wasted trying to beat Castle Wolfenstein on the Comm. 64. I'm telling ya...those graphics kick ass! But considering all these demands on his time, I'd say he does pretty well. Posted by: Jack M. on March 11, 2005 07:26 PM
Back in my day, why, we didn't even have home mooooo-vies or the innernut. We would chop wood all day for fun, and then at night we would pull the splinters from our eyeballs at a splinter-pulling dance. Oh, the fun we had splinter dances, much better than your home moooo-vies or innernut. Huzzar!! Posted by: Grumpy Old Man on March 11, 2005 07:27 PM
Oh, *I've* seen the Star Wars kid before, of course. I'm just letting people who haven't seen him know about it. But seriously: Never saw it before. No one ever sent me a link. What can I say? I'm not as much as a geek as I thought. Posted by: ace on March 11, 2005 07:28 PM

Lay off this Ace kid. People have taken this poor kid and made him a laughingstock. I feel bad for the kid. He's the new Tourist Guy. Posted by: See-Dubya on March 11, 2005 07:38 PM
What can I say? I'm not as much as a geek as I thought. Yeah, THAT'S IT, you're TOO COOL to have known about it, RIIIIIGHT. Just like my mom is too cool and has too much of a life to realize that those promising chain e-mails from Microsoft are dumb hoaxes. Posted by: Bill from INDC on March 11, 2005 07:46 PM

I will have my vengeance. Posted by: ace on March 11, 2005 07:53 PM
Well, I never saw it before. I was sittin there with tears in my effin eyes by the time it was done. That has to be one of the saddest things I've ever seen. LMAO Posted by: Dan on March 11, 2005 10:16 PM

At least he found Beatallica before they got a Wikipedia entry. Posted by: Joe R. the Unabrewer on March 13, 2005 01:41 AM
In all fairness...Ace got tipped to Beatallica (and man do I appreciate the links he gave me!). Otherwise he would have heard about them 2 years from now after Kliff takes up with a Japanese artist, and Jaymz leaves to form a fusion band called "Metalliwings". But speaking of Beatallica..the Blogtower is on the case with an update. Check it out, before you befall the "Star Wars Kid" fate of Ace. :) Posted by: Jack "The 5th Beatallica" M. on March 13, 2005 02:33 AM

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals. The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite. Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
