Because it looks like we just ran the motherfucking table at Vegas, AGAIN: Bush wins (with a solid 3.5 million popular vote margin even with high turnout), Daschle loses, Murkowski retains, Martinez, DeMint, and Burr win, Vitter gets over 50% in LA (amazing!), and even the Republican challenger for governor in Washington, Dino Rossi, looks like he's going to pull out a stunning upset. Just about the only race we lost was Coors, and it's still a +4 margin in the Senate.

Dasshole needs to look at the bright side; the death threats should go way down now.

* the Dems were planning an all out assault on W for his first 4 years well before 9-11.

* 9-11 caused a faltering economy to tank further

* the MSM tossed aside any objectivity and embraced the loony fringes of the left (Moore, Soros, MoveOn.org, etc).

* Iraq is proving to be a harder slog than most expected, which caused many conservative supports who were initially in favor to now be against it.

Inspite of these and dozen's of other factors...W not ONLY wins comfortably but his popularity is enough to swing the Senate well into GOP hands. If that isn't a referendum on how the public views W, then I don't know what is.

The MSM is going to try to generate controversy for the next few weeks regardless of what the results say just because they are frightened of what they have witnessed. They and their lib elite friends threw everything and the kitchen sink at W and W bitch slapped all their candy asses. They'll use every excuse possible to explain the results without actually saying that the US public flat out likes and supports our president.

I called the popular vote thing yesterday.

It does get better!

1. Daschle is a poster boy for other Senators who think they can buck the majority of their State's voters and play DC power games the voters don't support - and get away with it by saying they bring home pork. Not enough. And a lesson to obstructors that think they or their state will be treated kindly if they tie up judicial nominations.

2. Harry Reid announced he would like to be Senate Leader. He will be more moderate. Amazing isn't it that the Dems will not be tripping over themselves to urge famous Vietnam War hero and born leader John Kerry to be the Dem's Senate Leader!

3. Breck Girl is screwed. Some Dems blame him for not campaigning effectively, showing himself a dilettant if not a debutant. He has no base, no political shot other than being a professional Presidential campaigner 'till 2008. If he goes back to suing doctors, tort reform beckons and his "fame" may hurt his ability to get "impartial" jury awards acceptable to appellate reviews. Of course he could put his pretty face on TV and be another court reporter.

4. The really liberal Senators still left are clustered in only 8 States - all Blue - and Hillary will be exerting pressure on several, especially women - to follow a Centrist path of moderation with her to get ready for 2008. Examples: Cantwell, Dodd, Lieberman, Lincoln, Jeffords, Murray, Landreau, Chucky Schumer (time to stop being the obnoxious gun-seizing, NYC shyster, Chucky!).

5. Flipper is as done as Algore. He goes back to the Senate revealed as less than he was once thought to be. Back to being Teddy's boy. Will give "major speeches" for awhile but stop when he notices he is mostly ignored. He will avoid the effort to do leadership - like he did for 20 years - so he has more time to play with Theresa's toys. Will he go nutso like Algore? We can hope!

6. Also note that many liberal lions of the Senate are getting Ooollllddd! Byrd, Lautenberg, Levin, Teddy, Feinstein, Mikulski, Inoye, Akaka, Rockefeller....Father Time will mean voluntarily or involuntary departures from the Senate soon.
