It Was a PenI'm glad I stayed out of that one. posted by Ace at 07:18 PM
CommentsThe video from LGF was so wierd because it showed something white with sharp edges. Maybe that was a trick of the lighting. It still looks funky, but i don't think its anything sinister. Posted by: Rob on October 4, 2004 07:42 PM

Regarding the poor performance by Bush in this debate, there are some posts at free republic that remind us that reagan lost his first debate with Mondull and went in to those debates with only like a 55% lead. Reagan then proceeded to win 49 out of 50 states in the election. Bush is no Reagan, but I think it does offer some perspective on this election. Posted by: Marty on October 4, 2004 08:18 PM
No one would have had a question to ask about this if Senator Kerry HAD JUST FOLLOWED THE RULES! What is so hard about folloing the rules? Posted by: Lonnie Kendall on October 4, 2004 08:34 PM
Hey Lonnie, Do you really want to start this? How would you feel if someone told you that very possible that it was that it was YOUR GUY who didn't follow the rules? I know, it's hard to believe given how absolutely crap-tacular his performance was. http://americablog.blogspot.com/archives/2004_10_03_americablog_archive.html#109690608330802330 Posted by: on October 4, 2004 10:01 PM
Do you really want to start this? I whole-heartedly urge you to pound on this issue as hard as you fucking can. It really brings some perspective to your position. Bear in mind, though, that I would also whole-heartedly encourage you to put your finger in a light-socket or put out steel-bladed fans with your tongue. I haven't forgotten this one. I play it a couple of times a month. But I bet a lot of you forgot it: Athletic (boogie down) Hustle (turn back) Feel pathetic (sugar town) No muscle (soul hack) I'm jumping (you move) No dancer (beside me) I'm thumping (you prove) Don't get no answer
On "Professor" Arday:
He was their living lawn jockey, period. They won't say that 'cause they're sensitive and down with his struggle and all. He was there to appease and flatter their sense of being uplifters of the oppressed. In truth, he served as their living lawn jockey -- no more, no less, and unworthy of even a second thought on their part. Tokenism, pure and simple.-- Krebs v Carnot

The Short Unhappy Life of a Russian Soldier: Why recruits die in 20-30 minutes
Interesting video. Some key parts: drones were responsible for 70-80% of all battlefield deaths in mid-2025, and I bet it's higher now. The Russian army is incredibly corrupt. Men get assigned to the most dangerous frontline units, the "Storm" units, unless they pay a superior $2,000 to be assigned to a different unit. Furthermore, there is often no real training for recruits -- commanders pocket the money that would have gone towards fuel and ammo costs incurred during training. Much "training" consists just of taking a single picture of soldiers doing something soldier-y, like fording a river, and publishing that as proof that the training was done. Even when it is done, training is only two weeks long.
