Kerry Picks Gephardt

The New York Post has the exclusive.

My previous position on Kerry's running mate: I don't think I could possibly care any less

My new position: Turns out I was wrong

Update: Okay, the Post got it wrong. I'm curious as to how they got it wrong-- did the Kerry camp feed them & then confirm false tips?

My position on Kerry's veep, however, remains unchanged: I just don't care either way.

Actually, I was looking forward to the "gay Daleks" cartoon.

Yeah, truly dull and duller.

More importantly, they don't have enough teeth between them to take a bite out of our foreign enemies' asses. The Democratic Party has redoubled its effort in the work Machiavelli originally ascribed to Christianity, turning men into women. I remember how Maureen Dowd described Al Gore once: so feminized he was practically lactating. That's how most of the men on the Left strike me.

This was pretty much inevitable. A lot of union votes would not go to Kerry if he passed by Gephardt. I kind of wish he had chosen Dean though. It would have made for better jokes.

The AP is reporting that Edwards is the VP pick.

Kerry sucks.

Posted by: Scout on July 6, 2004 08:15 AM

Fox News and everyone else is saying Edwards.

Former Dukakis campaign shill Susan Ostrich is crowing that Edwards is "the next Bill Clinton."

Oh. So a lying, womanizing, self-absorbed power hog. Way to go, Dems.

Posted by: Sailor Kenshin on July 6, 2004 08:40 AM

Heh. The Post's story has been taken down.

Edwards has ten times the basic, human appeal that Kerry does, so Kerry's picking Edwards is like painting a big "L" on his own forehead. Now we can just sit back and wait for all the younger Democrats who've never had a decent civics course to start talking about how they're "really voting for Edwards" or how Edwards is "going to be, like, you know, co-President, dude."

Posted by: Doug on July 6, 2004 09:15 AM

Were you listening to rumors from gay Daleks again, Ace?

Posted by: The Black Republican on July 6, 2004 09:27 AM

I went to the corner deli and bought a couple of copies of the Post to put in a cool dry place and store for the inevitable collector market.

Murdoch should be kicking his kid that runs the Post for getting so gallingly snookered.

Now we can just sit back and wait for all the younger Democrats who've never had a decent civics course to start talking about how they're "really voting for Edwards" ...

One can only wonder why they didn't do so during primary season.

Posted by: zetetic on July 6, 2004 12:03 PM

I think this year has proven just how screwed up primary season can be. If I were a Democrat who hadn't committed suicide yet, I would be furious that the race for the nomination was over after a mere handful of states, before I got any chance to get any input into who will represent my party. I am not a Democrat, but the danger for Republicans is just as great, unless you live in one of the first states on the list.

Posted by: Aaron on July 6, 2004 12:39 PM

the way Kerry flips and flops...the Post headline could be true down the road.

Posted by: sonodnixon on July 6, 2004 02:46 PM

My guess would be that the Kerry campaign fed the Post the wrong information either to (1) embarrass the paper, or (2) to try and make an even bigger story out of the mundane nomination.

Truly, does anyone really give a shit about Edwards? It was a safe choice and the expected one, but come on . . . the guy can't remember to remove his chewing gum before giving a speech.

Still, it'll be amusing to watch the liberal press, who have condemned Bush as being stupid (because too them, southern accent = moron) fall all over themselves to clamor about how brilliant Edwards is.

I actually heard a liberal today gleefully anticipating the Edwards-Cheney debate, expecting that Edwards will trounce Cheney. It's hard to believe that she could be so stupid, but then again, she is a Democrat.

Posted by: Scout on July 6, 2004 03:25 PM

That's my guess, too, but I don't want to get all Michael Moore on everyone.

Posted by: Ace on July 6, 2004 03:32 PM

To me, the choice of Edwards is perfect because it makes Kerry all the more repugnant that he has hooked up with the ambulance chaser extraordinaire.

Are you sure she wasn't joking? Cheny will make Edwards his bitch without even working up a sweat. Maybe that's why Kerry chose someone so pretty as his running mate.

Posted by: Brian B on July 6, 2004 03:59 PM

er Cheney. Sorry.

Posted by: Brian B on July 6, 2004 04:02 PM

There is no way that Beetle-mania is going to beat Big Time. Edwards is about to get a lesson in manners at the grown-up table.

But what we members of the Right-Wing Conspiracy need to do is downplay expectations -- be all, "Oh, no, Edwards is a trial lawyer ... he's so pretty ... he's so polished and smooth and shiny... (It causes me physical pain to even type these words).

And then, when the "debate" is over, when Edwards is looking for the Preparation-H, we will sit back and laugh and laugh and laugh ...

Posted by: george gaskell on July 6, 2004 04:13 PM

Hmm, so the Ken doll gets the nod. Kerry and Ken in '04! Has a certain ring to it, I suppose.

Posted by: zetetic on July 6, 2004 05:17 PM

Kerry: "Ok...Al says that for a bounce at the convention I should slip my tongue down my partner's throat..."
Edwards: "Umm..I think he meant Teresa, John."

Posted by: Senator PhilABuster on July 6, 2004 05:44 PM

Edwards: "Great to be with you, John."

Kerry: "That's Senator Kerry to you, plebeian! Oh, sorry about that. Force of habit. Heh."

In response to someone asking why the video tape doesn't show Tyler Robinson's face (PS, it does, but it's crappy video so it's blurry):

Candace Owens
@RealCandaceO

Because as I demonstrated on my show, there were MANY young men that all woke up and decided to dress in Maroon shirts and light shorts on the day of the Charlie's assassination.

The footage can be any one of these young men and in my opinion is likely multiple of them.

If Tyler Robinson's defense would like to contact me-- I'd be happy to supply them the folder of the maroon boys that I began archiving when I noticed the bizarre fashion trend.

I have thus far ID'd two of them, but will focus on IDing the rest of them when I am back on air.

I have maintained that the Feds had multiple decoy maroon boys on the ground that day. Without a clear image, they certainly cannot declare it is Tyler Robinson which is why all the Zionist influencers are hoping they can simply hypnotize the public into trusting blurry images and videos.
For such an "open and shut case" they have thus far provided ZERO evidence of anything outside of a criminal government conspiracy, the likes of which hasn't been seen since the JFK assassination.
More "fedslop" that Cavernous Nostrils is too smart to be taken in by:

Blake Neff
@BlakeSNeff

BREAKING: Lance Twiggs says that Robinson admitted to him in-person on Sept. 11 that the message he had sent the night before (presumably, messages sent while he was trying to retrieve his rifle the night of Sept 10) was true. He says Robinson told him "He wishes he hadn't done it."
