Kerry at Kos?

Saw this via the corner on National Review. John Kerry is blogging at the Daily Kos. At least, someone who calls himself John Kerry has a diary:

Real Hardball
by John Kerry
Fri Jan 20, 2006 at 03:52:31 PM PDT

There's something that doesn't sit right with me when, on the day Osama Bin Laden resurfaced in a disturbing audio tape, cable television ends up in a game of name calling as a war protester is compared to Osama Bin Laden.

That's reason to be outraged - but even more outrageous is the fact that in a flurry of sound bites what was lost was a real discussion of the fact that more than four years after the devastating attacks of 9/11, more than four years after George Bush boasted we wanted Osama "dead or alive," more than a year after Osama Bin Laden showed his hateful face in yet another video, this barbarian is still very much alive and boasting of additional attacks against the United States.

Later, he says the "full force of cable television" should be brought to bear against the Bush administration on this question. He then whines about the "chilling of dissent."
Here's a subject suited for true hard ball, on Hardball: four years of failure - enough is enough - why hasn't Osama Bin Laden been captured or killed, and how will he be destroyed before he next appears on tape to spread his disgusting message?

That discussion -- rather than criticizing American citizens who exercise their right to free speech and express dissenting opinions - is the discussion that America needs.

When are liberals like Kerry going to realize that sometimes, when you express opinions, those opinions are going to be criticized? The Constitution guarantees the right to free speech, not the right to speak without having others disagree with you.

The comments on this entry are priceless.

Comedy gold.

I doubt it's really him. It's probably just Al Gore using an online alias.

Posted by: sandy burger on January 21, 2006 08:14 PM

I think it is him. I do not think Kos would let some random person post under the name "John Kerry."

In any event, someone should ask Senator Kerry if he voted in Kos's poll asking who they hate more: Geoge W. Bush or Osama bin Laden. Wonder if Kerry was one of the 41% of Kossaks to said they hated Bush more?

Posted by: Mark on January 21, 2006 08:26 PM

Wow, it took them three whole comments before they started mewling about how the 2004 election was "stolen." I swear, these moonbats live in a richer fantasy world than Lewis Caroll ever dreamed up.

Posted by: Sean M. on January 21, 2006 08:37 PM

I remember the first time I posted at Kos, it's seared in my memory.

It was back in '66. I was doing my patriotic duty, transporting a load of baby-rapers across the Iraqi-Vietnam border at the command of President Reagan, when my boat came under attack.
Heroicaly I lept into action, manning my machinegun while the rest of my cowardly swift boat compadres fled, never witnessing any of my actions.

I recieved a gold star, two purple hearts, and a green clover for my heroism that day, but afterwords, when my cargo of illegal special forces disembarked to assault the unarmed villagers who had attacked us, behaving in the manner of the
Mon-johls, I walked among the ruins of that peacful village.

While sitting down next to a crate of pigs and AK-47s, I noticed one of the vilagers had scrawled a quote from that great and respected statesman, Neville Chamberlain: “In war, whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners, but all are losers.” and some small scribbles: www.dailykos.com

While those words might seem meaningless to most people at the time, I recognized the internet address, a recent invention of my good friend AlGore serving with me. I took out my computer, one of the first laptops ever developed, a gift from my girl back home, Annie Warbucks, and discovered a network of kindred souls.

I've been sharing my laughs and tears with those insightful people ever since.

I felt sorry for the ex-military guy. As far left as he is, he could still see how much further he had to travel to meet up with his fellow commenters.

Posted by: Tom M on January 21, 2006 09:09 PM

Isn't it also time that we hold the media's feet to the fire. Poor Michael Moore, he is such a nice man and like John received a slime from that right nutwing Chris Matthews.

Posts like this have to be a joke right? Whether or not you agree with Moore's various opinions - could you really describe him as a nice man? Maybe you consider him witty, a sharp observer, etc. But nice?

Posted by: steve_in_hb on January 21, 2006 09:38 PM

Michael Moore not nice man at all. He come to my Chinese buffet and stay for hours and hours. He eat all my inventory then he don't even bother to leave tip. Fuck Michael Moore.

Uh... I've read over his remarks numerous times and I can't figure out the part where he said criticism is not allowed in the United States. Highlight it for me, maybe.

Posted by: scarshapedstar on January 21, 2006 10:53 PM

It seemed like he was saying that Osama bin Laden is a more valid concern than Michael Moore. I know, this is a radical notion that only a liberal would express; Michael Moore is, after all, fat.

Posted by: scarshapedstar on January 21, 2006 10:57 PM

Hm. Maybe it means Kerry should stop whining like a big pussy when he gets criticized and just suck it up.

Posted by: Lee Atwater on January 21, 2006 10:59 PM

Would a little winking clown .gif, pointing to the text help ya? Because despite what you think that says, what it actually says is that we should not be "criticizing Americans who exercise their right to free speech." Don't take my word for it, look for yourself! I only put it in fucking boldface!

I wonder if he would extend the same courtesy to Swift Boat Vets?

"Here's a subject suited for true hard ball, on Hardball: four years of failure - enough is enough - why hasn't Osama Bin Laden been captured or killed, and how will he be destroyed before he next appears on tape to spread his disgusting message?"

I don't know the answer to that question, but I'm assuming it involves sucking up to the French.

Posted by: Sobek on January 21, 2006 11:54 PM

Kerry must find Osama because otherwise there is no one to surrender to.

Seriously, I'm amazed that Reid, Pelosi, Kerry, Durbin, Kennedy, Murtha, Mc Dermott, et al are not on a plane to Afganistan right now to negotiate a truce with Osama. Maybe that will come out in the Sunday talking head shows.

Posted by: Aubrey on January 22, 2006 12:12 AM

CIA head claims he knows where OBL is.

Media lets slide the Bush admin claim that we would go after OBL, but gosh we would hate to offend anyone in any country that supports OBL. The sheer hypocrisy of this attitude, after all the bluster from the right/Bush admin, goes un-noted by the media and all rightwing sites.

Four fucking YEARS and Bush hardly thinks about him being loose. And all you warrior-types just accept the Bush line that's it's just TOO much hard work to get this guy.

Pathetic. Plan an attack on US citizens and get away with it. For YEARS.

"When are liberals like Kerry going to realize that sometimes, when you express opinions, those opinions are going to be criticized? The Constitution guarantees the right to free speech, not the right to speak without having others disagree with you."

Put CONSERVATIVES for "liberals like Kerry", and we can all come up with LOTS and LOTS of examples to fit your example.

Kerry is talking about diverting debate with personal attacks -- hallmark of the right. Happens right here all the time.

All the time.

Posted by: tubino on January 22, 2006 02:04 AM

Wow. Tubino sure is a grumpy bitch these days.

Wassa matter tubby? Did you get a lump of coal for Fitzmas?

Posted by: The Warden on January 22, 2006 05:37 AM

I seriously doubt this is him. With the amount of fucking whackjobs at DK any politician looking to blog on a liberal site would go somewhere where reconised journalists contribute. Even if they weren't nuts who the fuck wants 700 comments feedback to something they write.

Posted by: Tank on January 22, 2006 08:03 AM

Well Tank if they're all crazy there then Kerry would actually fit right in. I view that as support for it being crazy- whats one more inmate in the asylum.

'Sides weren't some Democrats like Pelosi actually posting on some moonbat site last year?
I can't remember if it was DU, DKos, Atrios or what, but it also shoots a hole in your media whores/ we only post where recognized journalists can see our brilliance theory

Posted by: HowardDevore on January 22, 2006 11:27 AM

Here's a swell quote from some Kos Kommentator named Mephistophelese (posted Sat Jan 21 at 4:18 am):
"Liberals shouldn't pretend to be in favour of the military (as a concept most liberals are instinctively against it) when we aren't. The military are 'special cirucmstances' - men who must do a dirty job when all other opportunities and options are exhausted. They aren't men to be lionised and put on a pedestal - they're like toilet cleaners: it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it. There's nothing brave or noble about it - it's a dirty, degrading, inhuman affair, but one which is occasionally necessary. As a person with an extensive family military history, I say this not as a detractor but as a reluctant supporter."
Any chance Kerry will disagree with this or will Hillary have another chance to seem almost conservative? You know, at least to me, it really seems as if Kerry wants the '08 Dem nomination - he did come pretty close to winning in '04 - and if that's the case I can hardly wait to see him and Hillary acting professional while stabbing each other in the back and other sundry parts... maybe Hillary will take the VP seat and hope to be elected later as an older president, as Reagan was.

Posted by: Ira on January 22, 2006 12:27 PM

"CIA head claims he knows where OBL is"

So why doesn't the CIA head go there, nab him, and collect the $27 million? If he's worried about an armed entourage he could hire a few mercenaries for $5 million and still have over 20 million in profit.

Or it could be that this guy is, how you say, wrong.

tubino, if you were actually able to form a cogent and serious argument I'd be willing to debate you, and I'm sure I'm not alone. But you can't, so we're reduced to mockery, which to me feels somewhat like beating up on the retarded kid.

Posted by: MMDeuce on January 22, 2006 02:15 PM

Hey, leave that kid alone! He sounds really stupid, but actually he's brilliant! At least, that's what they think on the "progressive" side.

Posted by: Howard on January 22, 2006 11:13 PM

The swiftboat vets were right about KERRY he is a shame and a wreckless idiot

I think Professor of Rock (on YouTube) claimed this song was so upsetting that people used to pull over to the side of the road when it came on the radio. It's about a fatal plane crash, but obviously it suggests a fatal car crash too, which could wig out a driver.
It's like one of those nasty 70s anti-war body horror movies. Not for the squeamish. I'm not even going to post the lyrics because they're upsetting too.

Former CIA operative John Kiriakou talks with Matt Taibbi about the Brennan/Comey Coup
Both guys are old liberals, maybe even of the far-left variety, and both are appalled by the Democrat/Deep State coup against the US. Kiriakou says that CIA officers were legally obligated to report to the Inspector General John Brennan's repeated overruling of actual intelligence to encode his partisan conspiracy theories into US intel product, but of course they didn't.
