Kidnapped Peace Activist Angry At Her Kidnappers... Well, More Like "Slightly Peeved"

She still believes in their cause... she's just upset they were a little rude about abducting her.

H/t Allah.

"They tried to make us feel at home"

Those bastards!!!

Reading the article, it seems they never really felt threatened. Odd. Almost like they knew they wouldn't be harmed since they were actually working for the same team.

Off Topic (again, sorry)
News Flash;
Bush administration's fault that 13 miners are trapped in West Virginia coal mine.

"Undoubtedly, some will criticize me for placing blame on President Bush here."

"You don't want to co-operate with them by accepting, but then you feel guilty because they have been so kind - overlooking the fact, of course, that they have kidnapped you.?"

I don't understand people like this. So determined to be non-judgemental that she can't even be comfortable being angry at the people who abducted her and her parents.

A telling line:

"One of the two main guys [kidnappers] said: 'I can't believe you have been so disrespectful - we have given you blankets, we have given you food, we have treated you so well.' "

I believe this terrorist -- who apparently thought he was kidnapping Americans, and was apologetic when he realized his mistake -- was sincere in his incredulity. He honestly did not see why a woman would be upset at being kidnapped and detained at gunpoint. Nor does he seem to realize that his captive might not be reassured to discover that he would kill her if her passport was a different color.

One of the most fundamental human skills is empathy, the ability to imagine yourself in another's position and understand that person's motivations without necessarily sharing those motivations. It's crucial in aspects of society, particularly for rational persuasion. For all the Left's talk of "why do they hate us," it's almost impossible for most of us to consider another's actions without trying to put ourselves in his place. That these terrorists are so seriously deficient in this skill is possibly more disturbing than their violence -- it means there may be no chance of persuading them to desist.

Who is this Allah fellow?

Who is this Allah fellow?

If you're not being ironic, Allah used to run a blog called allahpundit which was quite popular. Despite many calls to return to blogging, he has said that it doesn't pay enough, so he won't consider it. An archive of his site can be found here.

Posted by: geoff on January 3, 2006 02:10 PM

Hmm, link problems. Here it is:

http://web.archive.*rg/web/*/http://allahpundit.com

But you have to replace the first ""*" with an "o"

Posted by: geoff on January 3, 2006 02:13 PM

Your link made me cry in pain and joy. Pain because he no longer blogs, and joy because of all the memories. I was a huge Allah reader. He was my homepage until he dissapeared from the blogosphere.

Can anyone find the ever-tear-inducing Dean-o comics?

Ace is Allah's bitch.

How does that work? Allah is the bitchor and Ace the bitchee?

Kidnapped Peace Activist Angry At Her Kidnappers... Well, More Like "Slightly Peeved"

And she would have been sore as hell if her "hosts" had decided to make her and ma and pa the stars of one of those little snuff films that are so darn big in that part of the world these days.

So much for their asted efforts for something thats impossible to acheive their now seeing what its like in those middle east countries so forget this MAKE FREINDS NOT ENEMIES poppyck from the 70s this is reality

Posted by: spurwing plover on January 3, 2006 02:59 PM

Actually I read it, and I got the idea that she was insulted. Realizing that while she wants to help people who are bad off (I read it that she worked in refugee camps, and such, not a peace activist in the way some are saying) she realized that she could be threatened and intimidated by the IDIOTS! who treat violence as a given.

As for "feeling at home" that also goes to show how retarded the enemies in the PA are. I've had guns pointed at me, I'm sure many many have, most of the time it was just a moron being irresponsible, flashing his piece, and while I didn't think they would pull the trigger, I assure you, the sensation I felt with that particular body piercing tool aimed in my direction wasn't "at home" She may not have believed she would get killed, but something about uni-directional hole punchers being pointed at an organ is disconcerting, especially if that organ is yours.

"They said they thought we were Americans"

I keep hearing that Saddam had nothing to do with al-Qaeda. Even if that were true, his support for Hamas made him our enemy. These people hate us and want us dead.

I'll never forget the Palestinians dancing in the streets on 9/11. That doesn't mean they're all bad people, not by a long shot. But it was a real eye-opener, that's for sure.

Posted by: SJKevin on January 3, 2006 03:41 PM

The enemy of our friend is also our enemy.

I get very tired of people who try to reason why we should not have gone into Iraq. There are plenty of reasons to have gone in, not just one or two. All are justified. And the fact remains that at some point we would have had to go in anyway.

Do you think they should send CASPER THE FREINDLY GHOST? he would have abetter chance and he could just turn invisible if they tried to grab him but then you cant hold a ghost

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.

Politico is reporting that multiple people have abruptly resigned from Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign: "Members of senior leadership have departed the campaign, including Courtni Pugh, a strategic adviser who served as Swalwell's top liaison to organized labor groups."
