Cellphone-Swallowing Update: Boyfriend May Have Forced It Down Her Throat

And just so the anonymous feminista of perpetual outrage understands, I am definitely not cool with that.

No, but you are cool with your syncophant calling me a btich for criticizing the boyfriend for almost killing her.

Posted by: on December 26, 2005 04:59 PM
Police were initially told the boyfriend wanted the phone and the woman tried to swallow it so that he could not get it.

Don't want to pronounce the guy guilty prematurely but, damn, if he did force it down her throat? And then stood there and lied about it, while she couldn't talk? That is some cold shit. Imagine sitting there gasping for air while some douchebag blames the whole situation on you--and you can't even refute any of it, possibly because you can't speak.

Blech. It all leaves such a bad taste in my mouth.

Posted by: ilyka on December 26, 2005 05:07 PM

No, but you are cool with your syncophant calling me a btich for criticizing the boyfriend for almost killing her.

Nope. If you'll go to the older thread, you'll see I am not cool with you assuming the worst about Michael. He merely misunderstood the story; he thought there was a fight and then she swallowed it herself in spite.

You always assume the worst possible interpretation because it gives you a little moral-vanity thrill.

For the love of God -- do you really imagine men support such life-threatening assaults on women? Or like to advertise that fact publicly?

Apparently you do. I would advise you to grow up and get over your conceit that you are one of the few people in this country concerned about brutal violence against women.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:13 PM

There were a lot of people like you in blah-blah school. We'd hear about some horrific crime -- some rape and murder or something -- and folks like you would immediately raise your hand to announce that you were "outraged!"

Well, like, no fucking shit, you know? Who isn't?

But you always have to get that on the record, and let other people know that, while they may have been similarly revolted by a crime, you had the courage to raise your hand and defiantly announce how outraged you were.

You know what else outrages me? Cancer.

Can you say the same, cancer-lover?

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:17 PM

And I advise you to actually read the exchange. You are cool with him assuming the worse about my motives because you are intent on ignoring that he is the one who started the name calling, not me.

Posted by: on December 26, 2005 05:18 PM

As I indicated below, if this is true the guy should be prosecuted -- for attempted murder, not assault.

Anon, I called you a bitch for jumping to conclusions when the article linked below said nothing to support your automatic blame-the-guy attitude, not because I condone abusing women. Your subsequent comments suggest that I described you accurately.

Between the two of us, I'm not the one who has a problem with gender bias.

Posted by: Michael on December 26, 2005 05:18 PM

I just wish you could f'n' chill the eff out and realize that very few people are "down with" any of the following:

-- rape

-- brutal assaults on women (and on men and children, for that matter)

-- murders of women (and of men and children too)

-- stalking women

-- etc.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:19 PM

anonymous feminista:

I'm sorry, but there's a thing called history, and your previous history has been one of unceasing tediousness, annoyingness, moral-peacockery, imputation of bad motives to every poster with a male monicker, and constant declarations of outrage.

Michael, meanwhile, has been a pretty reasonable poster (except when he's hitting on women, which, last time I checked, was not technically a hate-crime yet).

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:22 PM

I was responding to Trevor's post, you know the one directly before mine that contained the link to the updated story. But, you acting true to form started the name calling, not me. You and the others can spin it anyway you want but if anyone disagrees with the pack here whether factually or immaginary you attack. Oh, and did I call you a prick? If not, I am now.

Posted by: on December 26, 2005 05:23 PM

Michael called you "anonobitch". Not very nice of him, but why should Ace care? Defend yourself. Ace isn't your daddy, although he probably wishes he were. As to why Ace should care about your careless use of the term misogyny, remember that you (or a similar anonymous poster; see the problem?) have referred to Ace that way in the past, and notice that since Michael has a name, he's sortuv part of a virtual community here, which is about as close as Ace gets to having real friends.

The term "anonobitch" reflects the fact that you don't use a screen name, like virtually every other regular poster here. I also find that annoying about you. (And you don't have to limit yourself to just one name, either. Explore the space, Josie.)

As to misogyny, here's a tip for the aspiring feminist in you, because your old pal Sandy is all about the ladies: crying wolf is counter-productive.

Posted by: sandy burger on December 26, 2005 05:24 PM

Anon, I called you a bitch for jumping to conclusions when the article linked below said nothing to support your automatic blame-the-guy attitude, not because I condone abusing women.

Well, michael you prick, I didn't jump to conclusions and I didn't automatically blame the guy. You are the one who automatically started calling me names. You fucked up but you are too small of a man to admit it.

Posted by: on December 26, 2005 05:27 PM

He merely misunderstood the story; he thought there was a fight and then she swallowed it herself in spite.

Again, I read the article and did not misunderstand anything or make any assumptions about what had happened that was not reported. The article linked below quotes the police as saying that she swallowed the phone herself. It does not describe any kind of physical fight; it only says he wanted the phone. It does not even say whose phone it was. That article says next to nothing about what actually happened or why she would put a phone in her mouth, and anon deserved to be criticized for her obvious anti-male bias.

Posted by: Michael on December 26, 2005 05:27 PM

By the way, anon, I am Ace's "sycophant." "Syncophant" is not a word.

Posted by: Michael on December 26, 2005 05:30 PM
if anyone disagrees with the pack here

At the risk of being labeled a "sycophant," I have to say that Ace and most other posters here have always been pretty cool to me when I've disagreed with them. And I'm saying that as someone who's received plenty of less-than-cool treatment from others, so I like to think I can tell the difference by now.

It's not what you say. It's how you say it, and how often you say it, and what kind of social capital you build up over time.

I like that there's someone here now who occasionally needles these guys from a feminist viewpoint. I just don't know that I like how it's being done. "Anonymous feminista of perpetual outrage" sums things up a little too accurately here.

Posted by: ilyka on December 26, 2005 05:31 PM

Well, Michael, if you didn't understand, I don't know where you're getting anti-male bias from:

"It appears she didn't voluntarily swallow this phone," Kintz said. "It's not quite the way it was first portrayed."

The story isn't fully out yet but it appears likely that she didn't swallow it, the boyfriend stuffed it into her throat.

That, at least, is the best theory the police have at the moment.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:31 PM

I didn't go running to ace or anyone else for backup. I didn't call ace any names. I didn't jump to the conclusion that the man was at fault. Nor did I take the position I did because the victim was a woman. Michael made this a sexual thing, not me. He was the one who accused me of siding with the victim bc she was female and not on what the police are releasing. He is the one who called me a bitch for what he perceived was a biased against men. So don't lecture me about who has the problem with the sexes.

Posted by: on December 26, 2005 05:33 PM
"Anonymous feminista of perpetual outrage" sums things up a little too accurately here.

I assume you mean that that's par for the course.

I don't know if anyone's applied that lable to you; I know I haven't. I'm applying it to this anonymous poster -- who can't even be bothered to MAKE UP A FUCKING NAME -- because of her shrill history.

"Men are insufficiently concerned about man-on-woman violence" is a perfectly valid proposition for a feminist to advance and see debated.

"Men support stuffing cellphones down women's throats; discuss amongst yourselves" is not.

I trust you see the difference. Cunt.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:35 PM

I was responding to Trevor's post, you know the one directly before mine that contained the link to the updated story.

Now this is beginning to make sense. I missed Trevor's post, and thus assumed you were referring to the original article. Your reaction to Trevor's post is certainly justifiable, and my reaction to you was off the mark.

I apologize.

Posted by: Michael on December 26, 2005 05:35 PM

That is some cold shit.

Yeah. If that's what happened, it should be considered attempted murder. (Probably not premeditated if he also called 911, though.)

I just hope this character never has kids.

Blech. It all leaves such a bad taste in my mouth.

Bad choice of words, ilyka!

Posted by: sandy burger on December 26, 2005 05:36 PM

Nothing stereotypical about that hissyfit. You need to find yourself a man.

Posted by: on December 26, 2005 05:36 PM

Ummm, see?

Michael was starting to worry me by insisting he hadn't "misunderstood anything," but I could not believe he had read the update and beleived it was "anti-male bias" to attack the boyfriend, given that update.

I knew this because, Anonymous Feminista, it just doesn't make sense to me that anyone here would support such a thing or be anything less than, yes, outraged over it.

Again, I would council you, if I may be so bold, to be less quick about imputing such horrific thoughts to someone without considering other possibilities, like a simple misunderstanding.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:39 PM

council = counsel

sorry.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:40 PM

Ace, if I was a woman, I'd be sitting on your front lawn right now, singing Helen Reddy songs and promising my sisterhood not to shave nor shower until you grovel at my mud-encrusted toes, you filthy piece of man-meat.

...Oh wait a minute, I was apparently channeling Cindy Sheehan. Never mind.

Posted by: on December 26, 2005 05:41 PM

I don't take advice from people who call me a cunt, prick.

Posted by: on December 26, 2005 05:42 PM
I don't know if anyone's applied that lable to you; I know I haven't. I'm applying it to this anonymous poster -- who can't even be bothered to MAKE UP A FUCKING NAME -- because of her shrill history.

Ace, what the FUCK? I was agreeing with you. When I say that "anonymous feminista of perpetual outrage sums things up a little too accurately," I do NOT mean that such labeling is "par for the course" around here.

I mean that she really is. An anonymous feminista. Of perpetual outrage. You know, just as you said.

And I also mean that I find the perpetual outrage extremely annoying and counterproductive. Because I do. And this is not the first time that I've said as much here, either.

Reminder:

At the risk of being labeled a "sycophant," I have to say that Ace and most other posters here have always been pretty cool to me when I've disagreed with them.

Okay? Jesus. I'm really not seeing how you got from this that I was offended by anything you did, but to clarify: I am not. My criticisms are directly solely at the anonymous poster.

Posted by: ilyka on December 26, 2005 05:42 PM

I just think it's all counterproductive and dumb.

Truth be told, Anonymous Feminista, most men today are at least softly feminist. We're not with the Naomi Wolf contingent, but we've pretty much accepted the less controversial points of feminism.

And, you know, even before feminism, we were NEVER supporters of beating the shit out of women or attempting to kill them.

I don't assume you hate me. Why is it so important to you to believe I hate you?

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:44 PM

ilyka: Your point seemed pretty obvious to me. Not sure how ace got that out of your post.

Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on December 26, 2005 05:45 PM

Whatever, Ilyka. You're still only good for two things: makin' babies and makin' sandwiches.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:45 PM

Just guessing, and I may be way off base here, but anonymous feminista has probably zero interest in finding herself a man.

Posted by: kjones on December 26, 2005 05:47 PM

DBS,

Honestly, I just sort of tune out whenever one of these perpetually-menstruating she-creatures starts flapping her pie hole or clicking her polished red whore-nails on a keyboard.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:47 PM

Ha ha! Ace and Michael both misunderstood stuff today. Do you morons have hang-overs or something?

Oh, and since I don't think I said it earlier, Merry Xmas y'all!

Posted by: sandy burger on December 26, 2005 05:49 PM

Can we all just hug and be friends now?

I grovel at your feet, Anonymous Feminista. Let me again publicly declare that were right and I was wrong. This whole silly spat was provoked by my mistake, and I'm sorry.

OK?

Posted by: Michael on December 26, 2005 05:49 PM

Can we all just hug and be friends now?

Just tell Ace to watch those hands, all right?

Posted by: sandy burger on December 26, 2005 05:50 PM

Anonymous Feministe:

Can't you call yourself Velma or something?

I didn't call you a cunt. I called Ilyka a cunt. And (I trust) she knew I was kidding.

(I hope she knew that.)

I wouldn't call you that because I save such vulgar language for people I like.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 05:52 PM

Anonymous Feminista:

I have an idea. If you like, I will grovel in my Batman suit and you can spank me real hard.

Posted by: Michael on December 26, 2005 05:55 PM

Wait. Ilyka is a chick? That changes everything.

Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on December 26, 2005 05:56 PM

Well, good on Michael for apologizing for the misunderstanding.

I, however, do think the anonabitch needs a name if there is going to be some proper name-calling going on around here.

Posted by: ace on December 26, 2005 06:02 PM

I think Michael should apologize to me, just on general principle.

Posted by: sandy burger on December 26, 2005 06:03 PM

Posted by: Michael on December 26, 2005 06:07 PM

You guys are insane and awesome. It's like a roller coaster.

In all honesty, I think feminist outrage should be focused on evil primitives who do honor killings. It's far more common than people might realize. Comparatively, shoving a phone down one's throat and slitting it are quite different. From my observation, American men are totally feminist compared to those of other countries (whose men consider American men to be wimps, softies, whipped, and emasculated).

So, let us (men and women) leave American men alone and go protest outside Pakistan's embassy (and Saudi Arabia's, for good measure). Forget Take Back the Night; one should Take Back the Throat!

Posted by: Muslihoon on December 26, 2005 06:35 PM

I think this is the perfect opportunity to tell you about the farting preacher.

Posted by: Bart on December 26, 2005 06:38 PM
(I hope she knew that.)

This is very embarrassing for me to admit, but I didn't even notice you'd done that. I, um, didn't read that far, because I'm a spaz.

But honestly, sometimes when one of these D&D dorks starts flapping his gums, I just kind of tune the whole thing out.

Posted by: ilyka on December 26, 2005 06:43 PM
From my observation, American men are totally feminist compared to those of other countries (whose men consider American men to be wimps, softies, whipped, and emasculated).

I've been told that by a Russian, a Saudi, and a South African guy. The hysterical part is that in two of the three instances, the guys told me this in the course of trying to pick me up. How retarded is that?

"I promise to respect you far less than your American suitors, my precious whore. Why will you not make sweet love to me, you worthless slut?"

Luckily, last I checked, the cultural values of Russia, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa were cultural values Americans could safely ignore, and/or make terrific fun of.

Posted by: ilyka on December 26, 2005 06:51 PM

Wait. Ilyka is a chick? That changes everything.

I don't know... last time I read her blog she was threatening to quit and come back with "a big swinging dick" because womyn bloggers don't get no respect.

This comment thread reminds me of almost all my past relationships. Someone trying to stuff something down my throat, misunderstanding, things being blown out of proportion, and someone getting called a cunt.

I propose that anonymous call herself Feisty Feminazi Spazz. It has a visually pleasing amount of "Z"s in the name and is accurate.

Posted by: Feisty on December 26, 2005 06:56 PM

Has Josie told us his/her sex?

Posted by: Bart on December 26, 2005 06:58 PM

Oh boy, here I go. I love to read this site and the comments, but I kind of feel sorry for this poster who is being dragged through the mud. Of course I don't know her "history" here and perhaps I am being a bit naive, but I think she was just shocked that a man would shove a cell phone down a girl's throat. Then Michael misunderstood her because he was reading another news story. She didn't take too kindly to being called "anonobitch" which is kinda cute, but some people are sensitive to that. Does that make her an outraged feminista for assuming that Michael was misogynistic for using the term "bitch" when referring to her? I'm sure he's a fine guy, but give her a break for just reacting to being called a name. Kumbaya, anyone?

Posted by: michele on December 26, 2005 07:12 PM

because I'm a spaz.

ilyka:

So, you really should go to Poland and acquire some cool. I mean, soon, not just before you die. (Yes, I checked out your ex-blog.) It's actually a very cool place. You won't regret Poland as a vacation destination, especially if you have family history there (I'm assuming Damen is a Polish name based on the fact that google turns up Damen Shipyards in Poland). The people are exceptionally friendly towards Americans. I've been to Warsaw a few times on business, but where I want to go on my own time is Krakow. I've heard it's really great, kind of like Prague-waiting-to-be-discovered. I'd like to get there before the tourists show up in force.

But, avoid Poland in the winter.

I'll think about it.

Posted by: Bart on December 26, 2005 07:19 PM

Thank you for the encouragement, Michael! Part of the attraction for me is definitely what I've heard about the people there, plus some of the Polish immigrants I've known here, plus I've heard Cracow particularly is beautiful. But, sadly:

Damen is a Polish name

In my case it's a totally fake name. I did have someone, I think the fella at Castle Aaarrrgh!, point out that it's also German for "women," which I hadn't known way back when I'd picked it. Anyway, that would fit with all the perverted Google.de search hits I get.

Posted by: ilyka on December 26, 2005 07:22 PM

Of course I don't know her "history" here

It makes all the difference.

Perhaps you remember others walking in on a Cedarford-bashing fiesta (after he wrote something unusually innocuous) and being astonished at all the mean people at Ace's.

Of course, this comparison is slightly slanderous if I don't point out that this anonymous lady is nothing, NOTHING like C.

Of course I don't know her "history" here

Trouble is, neither do we, because she's too lazy to use a screen name.

I sometimes see a clever or interesting anonymous comment which I think might be her, but I don't know.

In long overwrought arguments like this, a clearly recognizable and memorable personality emerges despite the anonymity. But all her other posts are just anonymous and cannot be distinguished from those of any other anonymous commenter. So, she gets no credit for any of them, and her history here is unfairly one-sided. Much like Ace's sack.

Yeah, I remember that. That was when I first started reading AoS HQ (but not yet posting). I was initially quite astonished at everyone's behavior.

What a disappointment it was to find out that what had looked like a delightful display of wanton cruelty was actually perfectly fair. I'm surprised I stuck around, really.

Michael, I was just wondering where you've been for the last couple of days

I was at my son's graduation. He received a Bachelor of Culinary Management degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. The kid has always just loved to cook, since he was very little. I remember him standing on a stool in the kitchen helping his mom cook, even though his chin just barely cleared the countertop. He's already got a job lined up at a Radisson hotel in Boston. Mrs. Michael and I are so proud of him.

Posted by: Michael on December 26, 2005 10:08 PM

I live right outside of Boston, so I'll have to get over there some time.

On the other hand, my frickin' ruthless ungrateful son and his best friend just cleaned me out playing Texas H*ld-*m. Oh well, I enjoyed the cigar, and at least I lasted a lot longer than Mrs. Michael.

Bart, I misspoke, he's at a Ritz Carlton, not a Radisson. It's the older of the two in Boston. You wouldn't make a special effort to go there. It's good from a career perspective because it's big-hotel-system experience, which can open a lot of doors, but if you're going to drive into Boston there are so many great choices. From my own experience, it's hard to go wrong at an Italian restaurant in the North End.

I am not cool with that either! Cell phones are damn expensive. What sort of idiot shoves a $200 Nokia down a woman's throat. Why not use a $1 sock or maybe a lemon?

Americans are so fricking wasteful.

Plus leaving the nickel-cadmuim battery in a corspe is going to polute the environment with heavy metals man!

Oh for heaven's sake. Go to stupid videos and search all vids for "farting". See the first two FP vids (really the best), but go also to "farting contest". Much better, except for the evangelist part. That was funny, right there. Gas was coming out the wrong end, though.

I haven't got anything bad from the site, but it is a public vid site, so....

Just talked to Michael Junior (the card-cheating little rat bastard), and he says that if you're going to dine in Boston you should check out the work of Chef Barbara Lynch at No. 9 Park. Michael Junior says she does a fabulous job of plating modern Italian dishes, kinda like French style with nouveau Italian cuisine.

I read this story and it’s silly. Do not tell me it is real story. If it is, I am surprised how two people can not get along. Bizarre. She did not give him phone. Childish behavior of two adults? Rule number one, when you see crazy man give him phone and depart, let him cool down and come back to resolve issue. Rule number two, when you see crazy woman give her phone and depart, let her cool down and come back to resolve issue.
Although, when two people get in argument all could happen. Angry people can commit anything no matter how absurd it looks later, just being under the influence of their own emotions. Instead, understanding between two adults, despite of the different language they speak (not foreign of course). All people are different. When they realize and accept this, than understand these differences and only there will be bridge building that brings Mars and Venus together.

Now, a feminine side. I am ok with that, women try to achieve in political, social, and economic life promoting their rights, interests, and gender inequality. Here it stops, gender inequality, when you transferring this to the relationships, well, problems are coming.

Feminism needs to be feminine. When this happens all disagreement will disappear. One, more please, stop calling names, when you resolving arguments. Live in peace and respect each one.

Funniest thing I've read about the Virginia mess. Back when they were hustling the referendum through the assembly both Senators, Warner and Kaine, advised them to go slow and play by the rules. Louise Lucas said she respected them but didn't need advice from the "cuck chair" in the corner. The gerrymandering was overturned and Louise is heading for the big house. Edward G. -- reportedly a genuine comment offered by a "senior Labour source"
Correction: I wrote that Labour is losing 88% (now 87%) of the seats it is "defending." I think that's wrong. The right way to say it is the seats they are contesting -- that is, they don't necessarily already hold these seats, but they have put up a candidate to run for the seat. It's still very bad but not as bad as losing 87% of the seats they already held.

🚨ED MILIBAND [a Minister in Starmer's government] SAYS KEIR STARMER WILL RESIGN AS PRIME MINISTER

He has reportedly reassured Labour MP's that Starmer will be resigning following the disastrous results tonight

It's over
"The end of the two party system in the UK" as first the Fake Conservatives and now Labour chooses political suicide rather than simply STOPPING THE INVASION
Incidentally, the only reason this didn't already happen in the US is because of the Very Bad Orange Man (who is right on 85% of all policy calls and extremely, existentially right on 15% of them)
No political party that is NOT also a doomsday religious cult would EVER choose a cataclysmic loss -- and possible extinction as a party -- to support a toxically unpopular favoritism of NON-CITIZEN ILLEGAL MIGRANTS over actual citizen voters.

Only a cult does this.
Now they've lost 84%.
Annunziata Rees-Mogg
@zatzi
If this continues Labour loses 2,148 seats tonight.

That is much worse than the worst case predictions I’ve seen.

Cataclysmic

Update: They've now lost 88% of the seats they're defending. As I mentioned earlier, I think I heard that London will not bail them out, as many of those Labour seats will probably flip to "Muslim Independent" or Green. Detroit's 5am vote will not save them.
Yup, Labour is losing 80% of its seats...
The British Patriot
@TheBritLad

🚨 BREAKING: Labour have lost 80% of all seats contested as of 2:25 AM.<
br> If this continues, Keir Starmer will be out of office next week.

Reform has surged and projected to pick up between 1700-2100 seats.

Wow, up to 1700-2100 seats. It's not incredible that this is happening. It's incredible that the Davos crowd is so absolutely determined to privilege Muslim "migrants" over the actual native population who elects them, no matter how loudly the natives scream that they want to be prioritized, that they will gladly self-extinguish as a party rather than simply representing the interests of their own voters. Astonishing.
Remember, when they call other people "cultists" -- they are the ones so imprisoned in their social reinforcement and discipline bubbles that they will choose political death rather than dare upset the Karen Enforcement Officers of their cult.
Update: Now they've lost 83% of the seats they were defending.

@DPJHodges

Reform are basically wiping Labour out in the North. It's not a defeat. It's not even a rout. Labour are simply ceasing to exist.

Nick Lowles
@lowles_nick

Tonight’s results are calamitous for Labour. Not just for Keir Starmer's leadership, but for the very future of the party
STARMERGEDDON: In early returns, Reform gains 135 seats, Labour loses 90, the Fake Conservatives lose 36 (and I didn't even know they could fall any further), the Lib Dems lose 4, and the Greens gain 6. Note that the only other party gaining seats is the Greens and they're only gaining a handful of seats.
Update: Reform now up 145, Labour down 98.
Labour projected to lose Wales -- where they've ruled for 27 years.
Fulton County Georgia just discovered 400 boxes of ballots for Labour
Update: REF +156, LAB -107, CON -45
Brutal: In four out of five council seats where Labour is defending, they've lost. 80%.
I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens.
REF +190, LAB -134, CON -56.
Updates on the Labour collapse in council elections -- which wags are calling #Starmergeddon -- from Beege Welborne. There are about 5000 seats up for grabs, Labour is expected to lose 1,800, Reform will probably gain 1,580, up from... zero. So this would be more than that.
People claim that while Labour has adopted the Sharia Agenda to appeal to the million Muslims it allowed to migrate to the country, those voters are ditching Labour to vote for the Muslim Independent Party or the Greens. Delicious. This shadenfreude is going straight to my thighs.
Oh, and if Starmer loses about as badly as expected, Labour will toss him out of a window Braveheart style and replace him. He will announce he is resigning to spend more time with his Gay Ukrainian Male Prostitutes.
Media bias and senationalism are as old as, well, the media:

That was written by Denny O'Neill and illustrated by, get this, Frank Miller. Editor to the Stars Jim Shooter was in charge at the time.
I always thought the gag was original to the comic book, but in fact the "Threat or Menace" headline was a satirical joke about media bias and sensationalism for a long while. The Harvard Lampoon used it in a parody of Life magazine: "Flying Saucers: Threat or Menace?"
