Time: Iran's Maniac President "Soft-Spoken," But "Doesn't Shy From Controversy"

There's little doubt that this guy should be considered on a neutral list of "People Who Mattered," whether for good or for ill.

But Time is rather nonjudgmental about a terrorist-supporting, Holocaust-denying, election-rigging, Israel-threatening religious maniac, aren't they?

Sheesh. If only Republicans could get this kind of press from Time.

Thanks to John.

More... In praising Bill and Melinda Gates for their charitable foundation, Time just plum forgets to mention all the money they give for the cause of abortion-rights advocacy.

Why not mention that? Is that not relevant?

If only Republicans could get this kind of press from Time.

Well, Ahmadinejad only wants to exterminate all the Jews, wipe Israel off the map, and behead all non-believers. Whereas Republicans oppose same-sex marriage --- the barbarians!

Besides, Ahmadinejad drives a Peugeot... a French car. That instantly makes him morally superior to those Republican barbarians in SUVs.

That's bad, especially when you compare it to how they describe Bush and Lord Cheney:

After winning re-election and claiming a mandate, the President and his No. 2 quickly squandered their political capital. Social Security reform, Iraq, Harriet Miers, Hurricane Katrina, the CIA-leak case, torture—on issue after issue, Bush and Cheney stumbled and saw their popularity drop. Although the team's numbers are improving somewhat, Republicans are facing next fall's midterm congressional elections with trepidation.
Then there's this virtual slobber job on McCain and Reid:
As President Bush tried to find his footing this year, these two Senators often proved to be more influential. McCain badgered Bush into backing his proposal to bar U.S. officials from torturing suspects abroad, while Reid, as Senate Democratic leader, kept his party unified in torpedoing the President's plan to create personal accounts for Social Security.
So now we're giving people kudos for holding up legislation instead of promoting it?

plumb - as in "straight up and down" - not plum.

And let's not forget Mayor Ray Nagin, who "embodied the pain" of New Orleans.

Could he have done more to get his people out before Katrina hit? Probably. But once the levees broke, the mayor of New Orleans embodied the pain and frustration of his city, even cursing on the radio as he joined thousands of stranded residents in wondering why their government had failed them.
Un-frickin'-believable. The guy is being praised for suffering he did nothing to prevent or alleviate.

"If only Republicans could get this kind of press from Time."

The msm and the 'chattering classes' hate Bush in particular and Republicans and Christians in general far more than they fear anything or anyone else.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
