Thanks For The Votes, GuysThanks for being such digital troopers and voting for me in the Weblog awards. Congrats to Dave From Garfield Ridge for edging out a win in a down-the-wire battle. I'm really sorry I didn't realize Rightwingsparkle was so close to winning... I'm sorry, RWS, had I noticed, I would have linked your category directly. I apologize to Lorie Byrd on that score, too. I'm really very sorry. John From Wuzzadem did well, but he couldn't overcome the liberal Yellow Dog Blog or the very feisty Atlas Shrugs. Congrats to the winners, and all the nominees too, except for those blogs that suck, like Atrios, Kos, etc. posted by Ace at 02:34 AM
CommentsStill, no Best Blog category is legitimate if someone like Kos and Atrios are in the running. I question the results. This was obviously a plot by Diebold and I demand a recount. Posted by: MH on December 16, 2005 03:05 AM
Dave made it? Hah Hah Hah. I guess my vote really does count. Thank you for making my early morning better with this news. Posted by: pinky on December 16, 2005 03:48 AM
Uh, how come all the content currently up on his blog is... old? Looks like we hit a time warp back into last week. Posted by: someone on December 16, 2005 06:01 AM
Uh, how come all the content currently up on his blog is... old? Something seems to have burped hugely with Typepad, because I'm seeing that several other places as well. Typepad: As reliable as Blogger, only, you pay for this shit. Posted by: ilyka on December 16, 2005 06:58 AM
Ace, and readers of Ace of Spades HQ, two words: Thank you. I literally could not have done it without all of you. Alas, as noted above, Typepad chose *this* moment to crap out on everyone. The reason my site is "old" is because they put up backup copies of all the sites for the time being. No idea when I'll be back up-- Typepad hasn't crashed on me like this before (ilyka-- with the exception of one noticeable slowdown a few months back, I've had few problems with Typepad, and a lot less than with Blogger. Coulda been worse-- Typepad could have crashed three days ago, and I would likely have lost the awards race. That would have made me PISSED). Anyway, again, thanks to everyone, particularly Ace. I am *much* obliged. Your humble blogger, Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on December 16, 2005 08:04 AM
Sounds like Dave should Muuuve. ACE - he's YOUR brother, get with the program dude! Posted by: Madfish Willie on December 16, 2005 08:07 AM
I enjoy both Ace and Dave, and am glad you both won. But, while I know Dave is a Pentagon drone (it's a dirty job, but someone's got to defend our Nation there) I know nothing about Ace. C'mon man, in honor of your win how about opening the kimono a little bit and telling us something about who you are and what you do outside the blogosphere? Posted by: Redhand on December 16, 2005 08:17 AM
It was never easy for Ace. He was born a poor black child... Posted by: Slublog on December 16, 2005 08:25 AM
Ace has already stated that he's not an economist. How many more clues do you need? Posted by: Lurker on December 16, 2005 08:26 AM
Gee Dave, I'm sorry your blog blew up. Posted by: Lane Meyer on December 16, 2005 08:29 AM
It was never easy for Ace. He was born a poor black child...to Dick Cheney's cock... Posted by: on December 16, 2005 08:40 AM
Congrats Dave; now let's be palz, K? Considering Ace posts like 15 hot things a day.... if he does anything else outside the blogosphere, it must be very part time. Or else he uses those bloggin'-enhancing drugs that I hear so much about to eliminate the need for sleep and/or eliminate the boss from his office so he can go about his business uninterrupted by "work". Posted by: Feisty on December 16, 2005 08:48 AM
C'mon man, in honor of your win how about opening the kimono a little bit . . . Yeah, make Feisty happy. Posted by: on December 16, 2005 08:52 AM
Yeah, make Feisty happy. Yes, please. Although, my Acey-poo seems a bit reserved that way. Polite and whatnot. That's ok; I like a challenge. Worst case scenario, we can just go out for cement mixers and BBQ ribs and get sloppy that way. Posted by: Feisty on December 16, 2005 08:58 AM
Feisty, you'll be added to my blogroll. . . as soon as I have a blog back. Grrrr. Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on December 16, 2005 09:00 AM
Dave...join the dark side...hosting matters and moveable type... Posted by: Slublog on December 16, 2005 09:05 AM
Thanks Dave! As far as I can tell, all bloggin software and sites crash or goof up about equally, so I'm all about having my site crash and paying nothing at the same time (Blogger). Posted by: Feisty on December 16, 2005 09:11 AM
True, but Blogger crashed on me *constantly*, especially towards the end there. I've only had one crash in a year of Typepad service, and they don't charge extra for bandwidth (at least not yet), so it's been worth the cheap monthly flat fee. And, let's be honest, Blogger kinda sucks. But hey, it's the "gateway drug" to a lifelong blogging addiction, so more power to it. Cheers, Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on December 16, 2005 09:14 AM
Feisty - just checked register.com and the domain www.feistyrepublicanwhore.com is available. Who would have thought? Posted by: Slublog on December 16, 2005 09:19 AM
And Dave, www.neildiamondsexslave.com is also available. Posted by: Slublog on December 16, 2005 09:20 AM
Stop trying to change the subject! I want Ace to open up his bathrobe. He's always stiffing his female readers in the cheesecake department. It's time he makes up for it. Posted by: on December 16, 2005 10:07 AM
YAY DAVE!!!! That's ok Ace, I just appreciate the mention. You can make it up to me by buying me a drink in NYC next week though....;-) Thanks guys for all your votes! Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 16, 2005 10:24 AM
Well, congrats to Ace and Dave and all the other good-guy winners; unfortunately, most of the people I voted for got stomped. Conservatives are never going to be able to match the Borg-collective bloc voting that put some of those winners over the top. But Ace has now achieved some of the recognition he deserves. Now he can just sit back and watch the sweet, crazy blog money come rolling in.... Posted by: utron on December 16, 2005 10:31 AM
I'm still holding out for him flashing us. :) Posted by: on December 16, 2005 11:27 AM
Uh, the winners of the "Best Blog Design" category really puts a downer on the other winners. There is no way that "ljc fyi" or "GiggleChick" are better designed than The Shape of Days. Maybe "Open Source Media's" editorial board can hand out awards. I'd trust that more than a vote-based one, unless you only get ONE VOTE per person. Posted by: rho on December 16, 2005 11:55 AM
"He's always stiffing his female readers in the cheesecake department." Hey, is this the new euphemism replacing squeakhole here at AoSHQ?
Posted by: doc on December 16, 2005 12:32 PM
Congrats to all the good guys and gals that one. I voted nearly every day, and still think it's a dumb set-up. Posted by: Tom M on December 16, 2005 01:15 PM
I let you down, man! Thanx for the plug, Ace. Wait, that didn't sound right. PS: @#*&%$ TypePad!! Posted by: John from WuzzqaDem on December 16, 2005 02:01 PM
Hey, Ace, can you delete that last comment? I really don't want people to know that I can't spell the name of my own blog. You know, when you have a sec. Any time, now. Still waiting. Bastard! Posted by: John from WuzzaDem on December 16, 2005 02:05 PM
Sure, John. Because that's what I'm here for-- to edit your typos. Just call me your Secre-bitch, 'kay? Posted by: ace on December 16, 2005 02:08 PM
Excellent. And freshen my drink while you're at it, m-kay? Posted by: John from WuzzaDem on December 16, 2005 06:33 PM

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals. The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite. Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
