I watched maybe a sum-total of 5 minutes of Cooper reporting. In that span of time, I grew to hate the man. Much of that was for the encomiums he recieves for his effeminate, touchy-feely "I feel your pain," "ask me about the product I use to make my hair this fabulous!" approach to reporting.

I hate HATE HATE to traffic in psychobabble, but some terms and concepts do seem to have some utility, especially considering how saturated is our current society with the idea that orgasms = success. I am of the generation that in high school tried to convince ourselves that the only reason our parents didn’t want us to have sex was because they didn’t want us to have any fun. The desperate heedless hedonism of sexual addicts, whatever their gender orientation, is not a lifestyle choice, any more than drinking is a lifestyle choice for an alcoholic. It is the deliberate, repeated, continual choice of adrenalin-pumping RISK — the risk of being caught, discovered, beaten by a jealous lover, beaten by an enraged parent, arrested, chased, infected, et cetera. There is damn little to it that enlarges the human spirit. It is the spiritual equivalent of eating your seed corn.

The sad thing is that the Left insist that this self-mutilating behavior not just be tolerated, but that it should be accepted as normal, healthy, and positive.
