Is she slated to speak at the '08 convention yet?

And, kee-righst, who are the after-hours comment posters around here?

You don't think that post was kikazz?

That should become a GOP commercial.
HA!

On a more important topic; I'm watching the 1976 remake of King Kong on AMC. I gotta say, Jessica Lange was one fine ass 'yotch.

This from an eighty-something year old woman, how great is that! This should be played 10 times a day in the Senate and the House.

Posted by: The Real Steve on December 14, 2005 06:17 AM

I doubt Olbermann will be ahhpy about these comments, but since nobody watches him, who cares?

Posted by: eddiebear on December 14, 2005 06:26 AM

Dammit! I meant "happy". Damn spelling!

Posted by: eddiebear on December 14, 2005 06:27 AM

I caught this through Michelle Malkin, and if you follow her trackbacks, you come across a moonbat who's certain she's a Fox plant, since no real Iraqi woman would be named "Betty." Then he goes on to complain that if she's real and speaking for herself (nice tinfoil touch there), it only shows that by her insults and hatred, it's obvious why Rethuglicans like her. The evil BusHitler has exported the worst of "democratic" dialogue to Iraq.

Of course, I expect that if she shook her fist at the camera and said "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for!" or "George Bush BETRAYED my country!" that, I'm sure, would be touted as an example of speaking truth to power, and we would be exhorted to applaud this brave woman for standing up to the FauxNewsGOPHalliburtonSwiftBoat oligarchy that's blowing a chill wind of censorship through Amerikkka.

If the GOP had any balls, this would be a commercial jammed down the left's throats every hour of every day from now to 2006.

You tell 'em Betty!

Posted by: Sue Dohnim on December 14, 2005 09:19 AM

So how are the useful idiots going to spin the election, tomorrow?

The trolls (read: Tubino/Chris) will be out in droves to put a negative spin on the new democracy in the Middle East.

  • Will they dispute the turnout percentage?
  • Will they shrug it off and call it a puppet government?
  • Will they latch onto a poll that someone pulled out of their asses claiming that "most" Iraqis hate the US and want us out immediately and that's what they thought they were voting for?
  • All of the above?

    All of the above?

    Ding ding ding ding!

I am enjoying the sight of a newly freed people going about the business of setting up their government. No amount of LLL whinging wil lessen my enjoyment.

Can anyone believe the nerve on this asshole, Harry Reid?

While Iraqis are risking life and limb to vote in the third of three historical elections to form a democracy in the Middle East in less than three years, Harry Reid is still demanding a "plan" for Iraq from President Bush.

And now the other asshole, Carl Levin is moving the goal posts of success in order to downplay the giant leap of democratic elections in Iraq.

Posted by: Timmy in the Well on December 14, 2005 10:31 AM

Will they shrug it off and call it a puppet government?

They play the other end of the field as well, with their position that all of our efforts will come to naught if an Islamic government arises. So we can't win if the government is too friendly, and we can't win if it's too hostile. I suspect that in their view there is no middle ground.

Posted by: geoff on December 14, 2005 10:33 AM

Right, Geoff. And Carl Levin just demanded that Bush needs to tell the Iraqis they have to change their Constitution.

That would go over like a fart in church, as they say, on the Arab street and the Dems know it.

Posted by: Timmy in the Well on December 14, 2005 10:38 AM

And Carl Levin just demanded that Bush needs to tell the Iraqis they have to change their Constitution.

If Bush does, will Carl Levin view that as proof that it's a puppet government?

Posted by: Brian B on December 14, 2005 11:01 AM

I can't get on Political Teen to view the video. Anyone have a direct link?

Posted by: JannyMae on December 14, 2005 11:03 AM

"So we can't win if the government is too friendly, and we can't win if it's too hostile."

The amazing thing about today's liberals is that the government can be simultaneously too friendly and too hostile. Forget any discussion of whether there is a middle ground; these categories overlap, as far as Reid and Levin are concerned.

On a more important topic; I'm watching the 1976 remake of King Kong on AMC. I gotta say, Jessica Lange was one fine ass 'yotch.

Yep, I was watching it too. No argument about Lange but, my gawd, Charles Grodin was awful as was most of the movie.

BOT, if this woman was a plant you'd think they'd have given her a less Anglicized name than "Betty". Oh, wait, wait, wait, Bushco is too stupid for that, my bad.

Posted by: kelly on December 14, 2005 12:54 PM

A savvy move by Bush would be to ask some prominent women Democrats in Congress or retired from Congress to lead an envoy to Iraq to show Iraqi woman that they are valuable to the new democracy.

It's a win-win. Bush can punk the Dems. If they accept, they are forced to acknowledge and embrace the new democratic Iraq.
If they refuse, it will spell bad PR for the Dems on why they don't want to promote women's rights in a new democracy.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
