Vote... Or Else

cheneykillskittens.jpg

Vote for Ace or the little furry ones die.

Thanks to Slublog for the 'shop.

Other endorsements:

Best New Blog: Without reservation: WUZZADEM!

Best Overall Blog: Michelle Malkin. Captain's Quarters is also very good, of course, but Malkin's in third of fourth behind Kos, Eschaton, and Talking Point Memo. Given that, vote for Michelle. Just becuse she has the best chance of beating the liberal blog-bots.

Best Group Blog: The Cotillion or RedState.

Best Humor or Comics Blog: Okay, someone named Jesus' General is winning and only Protein Wisdom is even close. So, I say vote for Naked Testicle Spiderman. Hog on Ice, Scrappleface, Iowahawk, and Six Meat Buffet are all worthies, but I don't see how they can rally to beat "Jesus' General," whatever that is.

Best Liberal Blog: Clarified, because she's nice and her blog is pretty funny. And sometimes live blogs my amateurish, buffoonish webcast. And everyone else is pretty much a total dick. Reason enough to keep this prize out of their greedy liberal mitts.

Journalism or Media Blog: What a tough category. Well, Lileks, Styen, Yon, or Best of the Web.

I would not want to be in that bag of wolverines.

Best Culture or Gossip Blog: SondraK.

Best LBGT Blog: I'll have to go with Gay Patriot, but Boi from Troy and The Malcontent are also worth your vote.

Best Military Blog: Blackfive has it all sewn up, and he deserves it, but Aaaargh! is also good.

Best Blog Design: Demure Thoughts!!!

Best Video Blog: Either the Political Teen or Bareknuckle Politics.

Best Law Blog: Volokh is winning, but let's try to give Patterico's Pontifications the upset.

Best Business Blog: I dig BizzyBlog.

Best UK Blog: Very cool Hoist the Black Flag guest Tim Worstall. Who actually lives in Portugal or Spain for the weather, which means it would be really cool if he won.

Best Non-UK European Blog: Non Parasan.

Best ME or Africa Blog: Iraq the Model, of course.

Best Australian Blog: I say Tim Blair, but I'm sure LauraW. can tell you the virtues of Whacking Day.

Best Latino or South American Blog: Mark in Mexico, no contest.

Best of the Top 250: Tough one, lot of worthies, but I'd suggest My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, because she's probably good to go.

Best of the Top 251-500: More great blogs, but please give a vote to one of the oldest Ace of Spades "pretend blog friends," Florida Cracker. Great blog.

Best of the Top 501-1000: Lot of competition, but I'd say vote for Digger's Realm, or maybe Generation Why? or Armies of Liberation.

Best of the Top 1001-1750: Rightwingsparkle, of course! (But Suburban Sundries Shack is also good.)

Skipping the next category, as I'm not very familiar...

Best of the Top 2501-3500: Byrd Droppings!

Best of the Top 3501-5000: Although Feisty Republican Whore is worthy, I have to give the tip to longtime Ace of Spades fake-internet-buddy and guest blogger Garfield Ridge.

Look-- sorry, Feisty. But monkeys are funnier than whores, even of the Republican, feisty sort.

FRW has announced that she would do me. But, on the other hand, Dave has promised he wouldn't. So this one's a wash.

But give it to Dave, because he needs it more. Feisty Republican Whore already has something Dave never will-- a vagina.

Best of the Top 6751-8750: Error Theory. Truth: Quante-ified is also worthy of your vote.

Best of the Top 5001-6750 Blogs: Joust the Facts is a very good blog.

Best of the Rest: Seven Deadly Sins. I endorsed Critical Mastiff first, but I didn't realize Seven Deadly Sins was nominated too. Sorry, Mastiff, I have to endorse Seven.

Meanie. Who said I was going for funny anyway? My blog is 100% serious; simply an enumeration of things crawling up the butts of low-rent hookers everywhere....Not a joke to be found.

In actuality, the only thing I'm really going for is Ace. mmmm.....ace with the hot streaming media radio action.

Perhaps, I'll just post some pictures of comic book characters with big racks and Magic, The Game tips or something and you'll change your mind on your endorsement?

Posted by: Feisty on December 8, 2005 04:51 AM

I feel bad for Fisty.
I enjoy his/her blog.
Dave in Garfield is cool and everything, but Fietsy talks about sex for money and stuff.

What to do?

Posted by: Bart on December 8, 2005 05:37 AM

Blame Bush should be nominated for a best humor blog award. Liberal Larry is as funny as the others in the category.

Posted by: Bart on December 8, 2005 05:39 AM

Thanks Bart. I enjoy myself a lot too....

I thought it was important to announce that I've added 'I have something Dave never will-- a non-latex vagina' to my rotating taglines.

Posted by: Feisty on December 8, 2005 05:49 AM

I'd never heard of Jesus' General before the first time I went to vote. When I saw how far ahead it was I figured I had to check it out. Let's just say that it looks like Margaret Cho now has a blog.

Posted by: Trevor on December 8, 2005 08:33 AM

Thanks Ace!!!!

Those teenagers are staying one step ahead of me every day!!! Every time I almost catch up they get like 20 more votes!! Come on guys!! Don't let those without any life experience win this one!!

VOTE HERE!!!!!! Please!!

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 8, 2005 08:43 AM

Best of the Rest...

Thanks Ace... Really, thanks... I don't NEED your support.

FEH!

http://thesins.blogspot.com

Posted by: Sinner on December 8, 2005 08:46 AM

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and their votes and I hope...

What?

What the hell do you mean I wasn't nominated...?!? Get my campaign manager on the phone. I want that SOB to get out there and start handing out cigarettes or cash or D&D figurines...whatever motivates this crowd to get off their asses and cast some votes!

Posted by: Slublog on December 8, 2005 09:03 AM

Ace, thank you. Seriously. A bottle of Valu-Rite vodka has just been downed in your honor.

Bart, would it make any difference to you if I started talking about sex for meth? Because I can do that. I'm running real low right now, and honestly, my freegan dumpster searches haven't turned up anything of value lately, so the last thing I have to sell is my body.

Well, okay, to be technical, my *soul* is also for sale, but I think Ace has a lien on that one. You wouldn't believe how many BJ's that guy needs to get him through a Giants game, sheesh! One day I will be free. . . one day.

Cheers,
Dave at Garfield Ridge

Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on December 8, 2005 09:30 AM

Ace:

Since you are lacking a recommendation for best Flippery Fish (6750-8750), may I suggest Error Theory?

Come by and visit y'all. Help me expose the phoney "redesign" of the Flight 93 memorial. The Bowl-of-Embrace still contains the original Crescent-of-embrace, and all the other features that made the Crescent memorial an Islamo-fascist shrine.

Exposé here.

Vote here.

Posted by: Alec Rawls on December 8, 2005 10:12 AM

Geez, Sparkle, you go on hiatus for almost a month and you expect us to vote for you.?! Can't vote for you now.... 'cus I voted for ya already yesterday afternoon.

Posted by: JFH on December 8, 2005 10:32 AM

Ace must be a god... he's posting in the future... Hey, Ace how 'bout telling me what the NASDAQ is doing next week, I could use a quick windfall

Posted by: JFH on December 8, 2005 10:35 AM

Vote for Rightwingsparkle?

Hell no!

Vote for me.

Why? Because , dude, doesn't she have it all already? The looks. The writing skills. The adoration of the AoSHQ crew. What do I have? None of those things. Well, I suppose I do have the typing skills of a retarded chimpanzee wearing knitted mittens and a sense of humor that only approaches funny when my two misguided brain cells accidentally bonk into each other.

I'm begging here.

At least if I can't win, can I get a little sloppy seconds love with the award? I can't go down to these other guys. It'd be humiliating - worse than still being on friendly terms with Chris Klein.

(Ace, thank you very much for the endorsement!!_

Posted by: Jimmie on December 8, 2005 10:43 AM

Thanks Ace! I am overwhelmed with sniffle gratitude and stuff. I guess i'll put the check in the mail by friday. Or I could just send you dried meats like I sent to Dave after I lost my bet. Who knew blogging could be so expensive?

Anyway, thanks again... your the best.

You mean there's not a best blog name category! I know Two or Three would have won that hand's down.

Posted by: Aaron on December 8, 2005 10:50 AM

...unless you're a total hit-whore, like Whizbang!...

Just knock off the sweet talk, Ace. You had me at "Paul Metzler situation."

I'm voting from home, BTW. The office has firewalls against hit-whores and their Flash Media packages.

Posted by: utron on December 8, 2005 11:18 AM

Ace, you're a peach.

You're round and soft and pink and fuzzy, and you bruise so easily...Wait, did I say that out loud?

Posted by: John from WuzzaDem on December 8, 2005 11:23 AM

You're a piece of sugar, thanks. And now I'll be able to stop giving out blowjobs for votes down at the Wi-Fi place. I was getting tired.

Posted by: Donnah on December 8, 2005 11:29 AM

Donnah owes me a monitor. And a pair of underwear.

Posted by: John from WuzzaDem on December 8, 2005 11:57 AM

Everybody, go and vote for Wuzzadem. Don't let that rabid yellow dog win!

Posted by: red dog on December 8, 2005 11:59 AM

Thank you, Ace! Now wouldja please deposit that check? You should have gotten it by now! ;-)

How can I vote Naked Testicle Spiderman? He's not among the finalists (best humor blog). At least not by that name.

Posted by: Xena on December 8, 2005 12:13 PM

Disssed. It hurts.

Posted by: Will Franklin on December 8, 2005 12:31 PM

How can I vote Naked Testicle Spiderman?

That's Ace's term of endearment for Jeff Goldstein of Protein Wisdom. Kind of a homoerotic nickname with special meaning for the two of them.

Posted by: geoff on December 8, 2005 12:31 PM

I'll try to explain the 10 day voting...

It's that way to dull the influence of an Instalanche (or other such high traffic link), to give bloggers with much lower daily traffic a chance to send a steady stream of voters over the entire period.

Considering that the site is not actually hosted at Wizbang and the Google ads pull in barely enough money per day to get a sub at Quizno's (which will go back to near zero in one week), it's hardly about the money or hits.

That's the way the awards have run for three years. It wasn't broke so I didn't fix it.

Posted by: Kevin on December 8, 2005 12:43 PM

I am absolutely filled with heartache, Ace. Oh, the pain! The anguish!

Seriously, just the fact that you have me blogrolled is pretty sweet. We're cool.

Posted by: Mastiff on December 8, 2005 12:46 PM

Is it Dec 15th?

Posted by: Duhgee on December 8, 2005 01:04 PM

I'VE BEEN COMING TO...oh, never mind. I'll just take my link on every page in the sidebar.

and I'm stunned by how my tiny blog is doing as well as it has.

Posted by: MacStansbury on December 8, 2005 01:14 PM

Jimmie,

How sweet. But just like McCain with Bush in the primaries, it's time to throw your support behind me.

If those teenagers would stop IMing every hormone in town to vote for them, I could actually get ahead!

Right now I am 9 freakin votes behind.

And... about that AoSPQ crew adoration thing. I got called a whore yesterday, soooo.... maybe not.

;-)

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 8, 2005 01:27 PM

Jennifer, wait-- you sent me *dried* meat? Mine all came in sauce.

Come to think of it, what kind of sauce was that???

I think I'm going to go vomit now.

Cheers,
Dave at Garfield Ridge

Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on December 8, 2005 01:29 PM

Rightwingsparkle, I just went and threw my support behind you. I'll do it again if you want. You're still a few votes short. I think you gotta campaign harder.

Posted by: erik on December 8, 2005 01:42 PM

Give up the race before it's even half over? No way!

And comparing me to John McCain was just really, really low.

Posted by: Jimmie on December 8, 2005 01:45 PM

Sparkle:

I got called a whore yesterday

Who?!? Who said it?!? What stinking rotten biscuit-head soon-to-be dead man said it?

When we insult you, it's always with the love. When somone else insults you, that's a grave insult to our collective manhood and must be avenged.

Now...what greasy little turd just signed his own death-warrant?

Posted by: Monty on December 8, 2005 01:54 PM

Acutally, it was a she.

No worries. I'm about as far from being a whore as you can get without being a nun. So it's not like it hurt or anything...;-)

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 8, 2005 02:00 PM

I didn't say it, but I fantacize about it all the time.

Posted by: Michael on December 8, 2005 02:02 PM

Of course I want you to do it every day erik! My problem is that I can't campaign on my own blog cuz I took the month of Dec. off and told my readers that, so they aren't expecting me back until Jan 1st!!!

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 8, 2005 02:02 PM

THANKZ!

Posted by: Mark in Mexico on December 8, 2005 02:04 PM

Oh, go ahead and post on your own blog RWS. No one will mind. It's a special occurrence.

Posted by: Slublog on December 8, 2005 02:12 PM

Slublog,

Oh, I did! But I'm just not getting much traffic now.

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 8, 2005 02:26 PM

RWS, uh, I still check every couple days just in case you changed your mind...

Posted by: JFH on December 8, 2005 02:37 PM

Well, if you'd like I can go from computer to computer in my office and vote for you.

But that would be cheating.

Posted by: Slublog on December 8, 2005 02:43 PM

c'mon RWS, go back to it and let's get into a big fight over McCain! Christmas would be sweeter!

Posted by: Dave in Texas on December 8, 2005 02:48 PM

Slublog,

There is no such thing as cheating in the blog wars!

But this isn't cheating! Each computer gets a vote. That is what Kevin said. EACH COMPUTER. He didn't say person. So.. yes.. run around to every computer. No one in your office will notice you I'm sure....;-)

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 8, 2005 02:48 PM

JFH,

That is so nice! But you know..If you click on the "subscribe to Rightwingsparkle" thingy on my sidebar, it will let you know when I have posted again so you don't have to keep checking.

At least that is the way it's suppose to work.

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 8, 2005 02:50 PM

Oh, I did! But I'm just not getting much traffic now.

Try putting up pictures of your daughter. Or you in the summer dress. You know the one I'm talking about.

It's time to pull out all the stops!

Posted by: Michael on December 8, 2005 02:51 PM

Dave,

Let me get through Christmas party room mom stuff, New York City (which I am so excited about I could die) and then Christmas and New Years...Please!!!!

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 8, 2005 02:52 PM

oh fine. whatever.

I am begging a blogger to post. huh. I really thought I had a life.

these lessons are bitter at my age.

Posted by: Dave in Texas on December 8, 2005 02:57 PM

RWS, all your irresponsible family gatherings and vacationing are getting in the way of your blogging. I insist you get back to the truly important things, and get rid of all that "life" and "family"

GOOD GRIEF!!!!

Here is the post just put up at my competing blog:

If you keep track of your votes, we'll recognize our top five supporters here on the blog. Feel free to be creative (i.e. email relatives, call through your church directories, etc.) Thank you all so much!

UPDATE: As another incentive, we will also recognize (including a link) every blogger who posts encouraging their readers to vote. From what we can tell The Rebelution is the only homeschool blog, and one of two teen blogs in the entire Weblog Awards.

It's HOMESCHOOLERS!! They live for their computers!! it's their only source to the outside world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....All is lost..... ;-(

Heh.

Or give up the daughter's beauty contest pics.

Up to you.

No more votes until I see booby.

P.S. Notice Feisty wanted no part of "proving" she's a she?

Posted by: Bart on December 8, 2005 07:08 PM

Tell you what. I'm trying to be reasonable. Just one picture of you in your high school cheerleaders uniform, and you've got all my votes for the duration.

Bart, are you good with that?

Posted by: Michael on December 8, 2005 07:27 PM

Thanks, Michael.
You weren't supposed to tell anybody about my cheerleading uniform.

Posted by: Bart on December 8, 2005 07:34 PM

Yeah, seriously, Ace, stop being so bashful.

Posted by: sandy burger on December 8, 2005 07:36 PM

Captain's quarters is kind of amazing, because of the original research and content that comes out of there. The blog is really understated, so you a person might not realize how earthshaking it is. It's like an innocuous looking pet poodle that jumps up and bites people's heads off. Seriously, it practically brought down the Canadian government by itself.

I think The Anchoress has been really high quality also, so I voted it for best conservative blog.

Yo. Here's me semi-anonymously passed out at a party.

In addition, I want everyone to take pity on me because I got called a whore yesterday too. Like loudly with an accusatory tone AND pointed fingers.

Posted by: Feisty on December 8, 2005 09:43 PM

wow. Mr. Paul Anka just did a duet on "My Way" with Mr. Frank Sinatra.

you say what you want to, that can't be easy.

Nope. Can't do it.

You got a set o' balls on you, Feister. Figuratively, of course. Not many chicks would post a pic of herself on the bathroom floor...with a toilet paper roll as background.

Right now, Michael's left hand is "light-speed" mode.
Easy, Michael, easy.

Seriously, though, Fissty, I dig you.
Dave in Garfield's Ridge, you're out.
Fiesty, you're in.

There ought to be 100 word-limits on each comment.

Posted by: Bart on December 9, 2005 01:02 AM

Bart,

That cheerleader uniform line made me laugh.

Oh yeah, I keep my high school cheerleader pictures online ready to post.

I am about to give up on the weblog thing. The homeschoolers are on a debate forum where they can remind everyone to vote everyday. Everytime I get close, they ask and ask. And the homeschoolers really support each other. So... maybe next year.

Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on December 9, 2005 10:33 AM

Why did you have to make Ponch so big, Ace? Why? His head practically popped out and broke my monitor when I clicked the link.

Those pictures are not staged either....unfortunately. Stupid friends. You should see the digital camera videos of me barfing in a toilet while bopping my head to the rhythm of some Eurotrash music in the background.

The rest of you *real* men out there who know that she's not passed out until YOU put the roofies in her drink, come vote for Garfield Ridge.

Seriously, if you don't vote for me, I'm in danger of being overtaken by a blogger named Ellen.

Ellen.

This is sad.

Dave, the defilers totally saved their roofies that night; they weren't needed at all. Although...that whole not-drunk-at-all to unconscious in under an hour thing was a little suspicious.

Posted by: Feisty on December 9, 2005 08:31 PM

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but...

How retarded is this "in the past 24 hours" bit?

Why not make it so you can only vote once within a fixed 24-hour period, such as, say, midnight EST until next midnight EST?

Either way, one could only vote once a day. But why the hell should I need to keep track of at what time of the day I last voted?

Posted by: Stumbo on December 9, 2005 09:20 PM

RWS, you CAN NOT bow out! You are WAY too close to beating those punks! At least you're not getting your ass kicked by moonbats like the rest of us are in almost all the other categories!

Time for some of us to stop splitting the conservative vote. Too bad the others in my category don't even appear to care at all. Buncha party poopers. Mheh.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
