Man, I doubt that. Criminals are over-over whelmingly male. Males are, statistically dog people, at least far greater than women. Thus criminals more likely than population at random to be dog people.

Maybe criminals are more likely cat people than a similarly male population.

That said, I wouldn't put anything past cat people.

I didn't read it but heard it on the Warren Eckstein Pet Therapist radio show. I can not attest for its accuracy. However, cats are easier to go on the lam with, don't you agree?

Toxoplasma isn't a virus. It's a single celled whatsit, not entirely unrelated to the malarial parasite Plasmodium. Infection rates in the general (human) population are astonishingly alarmingly high. Adult toxoplasma infections have previously been linked to changes in behaviour - men become more aggressive, women more... friendly.
I've seen reports linking horse viruses to schizophrenia, though.

Is this from Fox news? Toxoplasma gondii is a protozoan parasite, not a virus. You're much more likely to get it from eating undercooked meat or working in the garden, than association with cats.

Scoopin' the litter box during pregnancy is strictly forbidden to prevent infection with toxoplasmosis.

Male thugs, from my observation (hey, I haven't always lived in the best neighborhoods) tend to own dogs, and usually dobermans or pit bulls -- aggressive-type dogs. Cats are something the thug learned to throw rocks at, strangle, or drown as part of his childhood thug training.

That being said, cats are obviously popular with certain types of criminal, most specifically the Criminal Mastermind who rules a crime underworld from his island lair. Cats, being sly and psychotic, find an admirer in this sort of superior, if evil, mind.

That's interesting. My girlfriend's dad is schizophrenic (makes for some interesting visits). And get this - 2 other guys who grew up on the same street are schizophrenic, too. What are the chances of that?

As a side note: I've also read that Schizo is correlated with older fathers. Older dads at time of conception means (much?) more likely schizo. Doesn't hold true for age of mother however.
