Caring Hollywood Celebrities, Stiffin' The Common Man on Tips

Good stuff:

"What a bitch!" declared one entry that claimed Jennifer Lopez's tipping habits were less generous than her derriere, after she allegedly left only $1.27 as a tip on $350 bill at an unnamed Manhattan eatery.

The entry claimed that the measly tip came after J.Lo complained that her water was cold and asked the staff to warm it up.

Another entry claimed that fellow diva Barbra Streisand was equally parsimonious in her tipping habits — allegedly giving only $10, or roughly 2 percent, for a $457 bill.

"She demanded the best table, acting rude to everyone, and then barely tipped," the entry said.

More: The American Thinker has read a bit of the site (www.bitterwaitress.com), and digs up some other celebrity skinflints.

Michael Moore? 3% tipper. What a hero.

Michael Moore? 3% tipper. What a hero.

Well, yeah, but on the other hand, that's likely 3% of a very VERY large number.

Posted by: zetetic on November 26, 2005 04:01 PM

Beat me to it z -
What's 3% on $157,000?

Posted by: rickinstl on November 26, 2005 04:19 PM

How much does Moore tip the janitors who have to clean-up after him?

Posted by: B Moe on November 26, 2005 05:34 PM

I once waited on fight promoter Don King in Memphis. Him and his entourage were very cool to the staff and tipped $200 on a $800 bill. Goes to show you can never judge a book by it's cover.

Memories... haunt the corners of that waitress' mind. Babs better expect a reaping of her sowing.

They're just doing their part to help the proletariat develop class consciousness.

Posted by: Guy T. on November 26, 2005 06:32 PM

Not. Suprised. At all.

You know, I've heard it said that a lot of these celebrities have to pay so much out of pocket for agents and publicists and bodyguards and such that they're only left with a fraction of their otherwise ridiculously large paychecks.

Since they're still living large in the end it's hard to feel sorry for them, but I wonder if that isn't part of what factors into their odd habits of demanding that everyone else should pay fat Democrat taxes while being so stingy with what they have left.

Posted by: Sortelli on November 26, 2005 06:51 PM

I waited on Don Ho once. Good tip.

Posted by: runninrebel on November 26, 2005 07:00 PM

What's to stop someone from stopping by that site and saying that Ace left only a crumpled. empty pack of Virginia Slims and pewter D&D wizard figurine with a busted staff as a tip on his $30 bill at Applebees?

Hmmmm... I do have a few minutes to kill.

Posted by: The Warden on November 26, 2005 07:16 PM

Of course, Mikey's doing it just so the proletariat don't become complacent under capitalism. After the Socialist Revolution? 75 percent tip for the cup of black coffee that you picked up yourself at the counter.

Posted by: alex on November 26, 2005 07:44 PM

Michael Moore's actually in that database twice -- probably. The second hit's in New York.

Might just be another guy with the same name, but how many fat Michael Moores can there be?

Posted by: John Nowak on November 26, 2005 08:47 PM

Trouble is, none of the stories on bitterwaitress.com is verified, so who knows how much of it is made up? Fun reading, though. I especially liked the one where Tara Reid shows up plastered at a Starbucks, demands alcohol, is informed they don't sell booze, gets mad, tries the "do you know who I am?" ploy, it doesn't work, she gets madder, and then lifts up her top and flashes her boobs to the guy next to her and demands to know if they aren't convincing to him.

That one I can believe.

Posted by: OregonMuse on November 26, 2005 08:48 PM

The best tipper I know of is Andre Agassi. He tips 100% every time.

Posted by: Donnah on November 26, 2005 08:56 PM

After their concert Monday(11/21) in Trenton NJ, Springsteens band and entourage showed up at a local bowling alley/bar/restaurant - bowled, drank and ate to the tune of a "grand", left a $360 tip(all cash) and plenty of comp tickets for Tuesdays concert. No "Boss" but I don't think the barmaid, waitress, alley attendant gave a shit. What else could have happened? Autograph - worthless.

I wish these were true. Unfortunately, the site claims that Ann Coulter purged her dinner, and George W. Bush flung feces at the other diners.

Regardless, Michael Moore is still a fat, despicable horse hemorrhoid. (Comments wouldn't let me call him a b@$*@rd

A long time ago, I got "story of the month" on http://www.stainedapron.com (a site where waitresses bitch about customers...).

Some customer was rudely bitchin' at the Olive Garden about not getting their free salad refill quickly enough, and Dennis, this waiter guy that also did overnight DJing, said [in a perfectly calm voice], "Oh, since I'm busy, I'll have my negro get that salad for you."

The black host started doing some hyperactive painted-face black tapdance and said, "Yes massa! I gets that salad for yas! Yes massa! Anythings else, massa?" Of course those two were good friends. Only Dennis got fired though.

Funniest. Scene. Ever.

Posted by: Feisty on November 26, 2005 10:31 PM

Would you like a mint Mr. Moore? It's wafer thin!

Posted by: fugazi on November 26, 2005 11:11 PM

Would it be totally inappropriate to point out that John Kerry is in there like ten times?

Posted by: Charles on November 27, 2005 01:23 AM

And unlike most of the W entries, which just list a city without too many details, alot of the Kerry entries list the restaurant, so it could be verified.
If anyone actually gave enough of a damn.

Posted by: HowardDevore on November 27, 2005 03:55 AM

Bill Paxton, decent tipper and can hold his booze.

Posted by: ArmChair in sin on November 27, 2005 10:43 AM

How could I forget Stephen Hawking on karaoke night? He's a good sport.

(Don't even ask)

OK, now I have the MIDI version of 'Fly Me to the Moon' rolling around by head!

Not that most of you would consider them to be celebrities, but my friends have served Kurt Angle and several other wrestlers, all of whom tip between 20 and 30 percent.

woohoo.. 3 posts, different variations for each. Sorry about that.

Worked in a bar when some clown called in. Whole nine yards about some mook from Blink 182 wanting to come in. Wanted special access, comped drinks. Manager was a douche, said OK. While I'm pulling a brew for a reg this clown asks me if I know who he is. I said no but offered that I knew what he was. Bad tip.

At a completely separate place a bunch of rednecks sat at my table. Not a problem for me due to my redneck past, though I got some guff at the wait station. They started to pull up chairs from my empty tables and block the ingress and egress of my humble self. Went to caution them and realized that they were Skynryd. Good tippers, but they want separate checks.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
