I wonder if this guy will get the same coverage as Cindy Sheehan does.

32 U.S. Students Chosen As Rhodes Scholars

One winner was Scott R. Erwin, a 2005 graduate of the University of Richmond, who founded Ambassadors of Democracy, a civic education initiative at Mustanseriya University in Baghdad. He underwent eight hours of surgery in June 2004 after the car he was riding in was ambushed. Two of his Iraqi friends, both teachers, were killed in the attack.

An investigation found that insurgents targeted his car in an attempt to stop the classes, he said.

"I'm proud to say the attacks did not stop the program from continuing," said Erwin, a 23-year-old native of Weatherby Lake, Mo. "Iraqi students continue to promote democratic ideals to their peers."

Erwin received the Medal for the Defense of Freedom, the civilian equivalent of the Purple Heart. He was wounded in both arms and in his stomach but has recovered. He plans to study international relations at Oxford.

I'm sure that the top Iraq story tonight will manage to be negative somehow.

And no, I'm not gonna jinx this by mentioning it by name.

Ace! Whenever you refer to Cindy Sheehan, you must refer to her as the "Atrocity mom".

If we followed "Atrocity mom" Cindy Sheehan's policy, Iraq would be run by head-chopping atrocity loving muslim terrorists.

Atrocity mom! Say it!

How dare you talk bad of Mother Sheehan! I mean, she has absolute moral authority on this!

Hmmm, the report about Zarqawi dying comes from the ever-reliable and professional Arab media, huh? What a shame.

Victor Davis Hanson on Trump's unstoppable rise to power. A long form interview (70min) that really captures the Trump phenomenon, where his mind is, and where we are going. This could provide a good introductory quote or two if you want to share the really detailed interview above. The video is great, but the transcript when VDH starts talking about the Latin phrases from the Great Seal is pretty bad. [KT]
