Zarqawi Threatens To Assassinate King of Jordan, Blow Up More Hotels

I guess Zarqawi wants to see if he can infuriate more Muslim radicals than even George "American Satan" Bush has. He's a competitive kind of guy.

I'm torn between wanting his buddies to knock him off for being Weapons-Grade Crazy and wanting him to stay in business to finally infuriate this "Arab Street" I've heard so very much about.

Drudge has the siren up, saying that the GOP is essentially calling the Dems' hand, and demanding an up or down vote tonight at 7:00 on whether we should immediately withdraw the troops from Iraq.

Probably a savvy move, if for no other reason than you get the moonbats on record again.

Can we stop with the stupid "we are creating more terrorists by being in Iaq" crap now? They don't just want to kill us, they want to kill everyone who isn't them. In the last week we have seen the bombing of Jordanian hotels which killed mosty muslims including a wedding party, two mosques and now a threat to behead the King of Jordan.

How this means we are creating terrorists escapes me.

The story goes on to say that Zarqawi claims the wedding party thing was a mistake -- odd, since it says the bomber observed the wedding party for a few minutes before detonating -- and that the bomb was really intended for unspecified intelligence officials.

Which is interesting, because it means Zarqawi is twisting and turning to sound simultaneously a) sorry for blowing up Muslims (he's clearly not) and b) menacing in the precision and accuracy of his soldiers.

I'd be interested to see whether your typical Jordanian spots the holes in this story.

As to threatening Jordan, good. They don't have their hands tied like we do here. So, maybe Jordanian security will succeed where we have failed.

This isn't Christmas Eve fare, and I thought about waiting until the 26th to post it, but supposedly an amateur detective has solved the Zodiac killer mystery. And the horrific Black Dahlia killing. He says it's the same person! I always thought of them as very far apart in time but I think Black Dahlia was mid-fifties (nope, 1947) mid and the Zodiac murders began in 1968 so it's possible it's the same killer.

The killer, if it's the same man, would have been in his 20s when he killed the Black Dahlia and his 40s when he did the Zodiac murders. Possible.

A little caveat: I saw someone snark on Reddit, "The Zodiac case gets solved more often than Wordle." There are a ton of coincidences here, supposedly, like a Zodiac cipher being solved by the name "Elizabeth." Elizabeth Short was the name of the so-called Black Dahlia.

If you don't know about the Black Dahlia, don't look it up. Just accept that it's grisly on the level of Jack the Ripper.

Yes, the named suspect resembles the police sketch of Zodiac.
