Update: Israel Says Al Qaeda Operating In West Bank

Steve, who sends the tip, wonders if this is evidence of a power struggle there, perhaps linked to the killing of the PA general in the Amman bombing.

I'm sure the CIA has answers to such questions. They know everything.

"We know that they are there. We know that they are in Lebanon, working closely with Hezbollah. We know that they are in the region," he said.

What!! Al Qaeda working within a secular, Bathist gov't? Thats just crazy talk. Damn right wingers.

Yeah. They know everything. And then they leak it if it can hurt the administration.

There was that incident maybe 6 weeks ago where three Hamas honchos were kidnapped right off the street and held for a while...

AQ probably sees Gaza as a safe haven, and the PA would want no part of that as it would invite a bunch of USN seals sneaking and peeping around.

I'm sure the CIA has answers to such questions. They know everything RIIIIIIGHT. The C.I.A. is only good at political smear campaigns. It started in the late 1970's andearly 1980' swhenthe C.I.A. went after General Westmoreland in an effort to rehabilitate the C.I.A. by blaming the Vietnam War build up on Westmoreland (they argued that Westmoreland lied to President Johnson about what was actually going on in Vietnam). They are at it agains with Bush--He lied and the C.I.A. is without fault or blemish, or so the C.I.A. political operatives claim. The only thing the C.I.A. really gets right is covering their ass. And oh yes, making millions of dollars out their smear campaign efforts (Richard Clark got $6 million for his "nonfiction" book--more money than he earned in all of his 30 years working at the C.I.A.--what a great crook).

My heart went out to the families who were thrown out of their homes in the "disengagement," but I knew what Sharon was doing. It is a variation of the honeypot trap strategy that the Bush administration has done in Iraq. Gaza can now go from "peaceful Palestinian settlement" to anti-terrorist free fire zone in less than a minute. I just wonder how the PA (and the sympathetic Labor Party) couldn't see their segregation strategy being used against them.

This is an update? The linked BBC article is from December 2002! How does that relate to the bombings in Jordan?

Lost Seventies Mystery Click: The Darkest Song Ever Recorded?
I think Professor of Rock (on YouTube) claimed this song was so upsetting that people used to pull over to the side of the road when it came on the radio. It's about a fatal plane crash, but obviously it suggests a fatal car crash too, which could wig out a driver.
It's like one of those nasty 70s anti-war body horror movies. Not for the squeamish. I'm not even going to post the lyrics because they're upsetting too.

I'm frankly surprised the title is 107 Days. I would have thought it would be:

Days Are Important: The Amount of Days Was a Number and That Number Was 100 Plus 7 Which is 107. 107. One Hundred and Seven. It's a Memoir and Memoirs are About Remembering Things Because Remembering Things is Good. Not Bad. Good. Memoir. A Memoir. Like a Reservoir But With Memory. We Have to Let it Flow. We Have to Let It Flow Into the Reservoir of Our Mind and Our Heart. Our Heart Which is the Beating Heart of Not Just Our Blood, But Our Progress. And Our People. And Democracy. The End.

Soft weak poop from the early 80s Mystery Click
I never liked this song, but it is memorable. In a weak, annoying way.

Down at the golden cup
They set the young ones up
Under the neon light
Selling day for night
It's alright
