Ancient Giant Pyramid Discovered In… Europe?

The BBC (scroll to bottom of link) reports a giant pyramid, Europe’s first, may have been recently discovered under a Bosnian hill:

"The pyramid is 100 metres high and there is evidence that it contains rooms and a monumental causeway ... The plateau is built of stone blocks, which indicates the presence at the time of a highly developed civilisation," the daily explains.

Unjournaled, a blog, has pictures of the hill (which looks, whaddya-know, much like a giant pyramid covered with dirt) and quotes the main archaeologist, a Mr. Osmanagić, hypothesizing “[The] 'Bosnian pyramid of Sun’ was a temple, built by pre-Illyrians, people who lived… 27,000 years ago.” He also suspects a nearby hill is the 'Bosnian pyramid of Moon.'

Unjournaled also links to this brief Reuters TV report(loads automatically) which shows the archaeologist walking around the hill, talking bout how it’s only slightly smaller than the bad boys of Giza. (Looks like he hasn't even really begun with the digging.)

I thought it rather odd that Mr Ozzyghostis somehow knew everything he needed to know about Bosnian pyramids and religion from 27,000 years ago when we have a hard time figuring out what our founding father meant about the constitution (despite the reams of presonal records.

Also, 25000 BC is very late Pleistocene, just prior to the last Glacial Maximum. But the pyramid itself is "only" 10000 BC.

According to Dr Sykes, there were already Cro-Magnons in Europe in 25000 BC; the predecessors of H, V, T, and various spinoffs of U (my maternal grandfather and "Oetzi the Iceman" are K's, which is one of those spinoffs). As of 10000 BC, X was coming in from Central Asia, and J from the Near East.

Of these, chances are that the V's spoke pre-Basque and the K's spoke pre-Etruscan as of the start of the Holocene, and that no-one in Europe was speaking Indo-European. So if there are any hieroglyphics, they're not going to be in Albanian, pre-Greek, or Slavic; and we're not going to be able to read them.

It's possible, though, that the pyramid is from Near Eastern J's. So they *might* have been speaking that pre-Afro/Asiatic language which gave rise to Coptic, Arabic, Berber, Aramaic, etc etc.

I'm about as devout a believer in ancient astronauts as you can be, but pyramids are just a really good shape to make stuff that won't fall over. They're like Weebuls. Surprised we don't find cone shaped stuff though.

Hi, i'm bosnian, and if you are wondering about the age that he mentioned concerning pre-Illyrians, he really did say that he has found strong evidence taht can back his claims on the age of the pyramid, as well as the earliest settlements in the area, but I thing the excavation and serious research is yet to begin.

Correction: I wrote that Labour is losing 88% (now 87%) of the seats it is "defending." I think that's wrong. The right way to say it is the seats they are contesting -- that is, they don't necessarily already hold these seats, but they have put up a candidate to run for the seat. It's still very bad but not as bad as losing 87% of the seats they already held.

STARMERGEDDON: In early returns, Reform gains 135 seats, Labour loses 90, the Fake Conservatives lose 36 (and I didn't even know they could fall any further), the Lib Dems lose 4, and the Greens gain 6. Note that the only other party gaining seats is the Greens and they're only gaining a handful of seats.

I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens.
