The only good thing Shepard has ever done was his role in The Right Stuff. I had to read one of his stupid "plays" in College (Buried Child, I think). A more mannered and pretentious bit of junk would be hard to imagine. This isn't even off-Broadway stuff; this is off-off-off-Broadway. Like "Weehawken street theater" off-Broadway.

He kind of reminds me of that dimwit in The Goodbye Girl who's trying to produce Richard III where Richard is gay and wears a chartreuse hump on his back. Priceless. (Back when Dreyfuss was really acting and not just phoning it in.)

I was gonna say what Monty said: Shepard earned a lifetime pass for almost anything for being Chuck F'ing Yeager.

There is one reason to hope Shepard wins the Nobel. No one reads the laureates, because they're incomprehensible. I mean, even I can't read Pinter, and I read everything.
