This Blog is Worth... $617,000. Right.Find out how much your blog is worth, in fantasy make-believe pretend fakedollars. Thanks to cutaway and Bob B. posted by Ace at 09:30 PM
CommentsSays my old site is worth $63K. Just enough to pay off my law-school loans. Who do I talk to about selling? Posted by: Allah on October 18, 2005 09:35 PM
So your blog is worth all this lucre and you have the utter gall to solicit funds from your readers? You are a scoundrel, sir! A contemptible blackguard! A libertine and a sneak-thief of a woman's virtue! Were you before me now, I would challenge you to a duel! Posted by: Monty on October 18, 2005 09:39 PM
Lighten up there, Francis. Seems to me if someone wanted to make sure a post got linked by EVERYBODY, they'd just do some silly calculator that wildly overstates the value of a blog. No one's offered me two bits for this piece of crap moronblog, in any event. Posted by: ace on October 18, 2005 09:53 PM
Holy crap, Monty is building up to the ultimate Victorian insult there: Good day, sir! Posted by: Sortelli on October 18, 2005 09:53 PM
the value of Scott Peterson's future marital prospects is worth more than my blog. whatever. more importantly...why the f do we need another Zorro movie? this country is involved in a war on multiple fronts....natural disasters are wreaking havoc on virtually every quadrant and Hollywood has the f'n gall to release another Zorro movie? the balls on these people....i mean...C'MON...WHAT ARE THEY THINKING????!!!??? We have a SCJ seat at stake, astronomical oil prices, slumping consumer confidence...and the piece of S lackeys that run La-La land have the AUDACITY TO RELEASE ANOTHER ZORRO MOVIE????????????? Posted by: bostonirish on October 18, 2005 09:58 PM
I'll start the bidding at a princely $.05 Posted by: Purple Avenger on October 18, 2005 09:59 PM
To which, Sortelli, the only possible face-saving rejoinder is, "good day to you, sir!" Posted by: S. Weasel on October 18, 2005 09:59 PM
I'll bump it up to $1 if LauraW is part of the deal.
Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on October 18, 2005 10:03 PM
Hey, it says my blog is worth $38,953.26. Well, at least it got the $.26 right. Posted by: Slublog on October 18, 2005 10:06 PM
It refused to give me a quote on my blog, but it said my old Playboys are worth $134.15. Posted by: Dogstar on October 18, 2005 10:13 PM
I love Monty's Victorian insults. We should have a Victorian flame thread. E.g.: Monty: You, sir, are a knave. A charlatan of the first order, devoid of gentlemanly virtue. A bounder whose honor is not worth a whit. A scoundrel unworthy of the attention of polite society and deserving of the uttermost contempt. I despise you, sir. Well then. Good day to you. You ass-fucking faggot. (Maybe I messed up the last part.) Posted by: Michael on October 18, 2005 10:19 PM
You ass-fucking faggot. You just called him... a pie?!?!? Posted by: Dogstar on October 18, 2005 10:21 PM
Not just any pie. The Pie... of Sodomy. Posted by: Sortelli on October 18, 2005 11:00 PM
Or, possibly, any of Wonkette's pies. Posted by: Sortelli on October 18, 2005 11:02 PM
My blog is worth. . . nothing. Nothing at all. $0.00. Zilch-o. Wonderful. I'm worthless even in fantasy metrics. Excuse me, I'm going to drink my weight in Valu-Rite, and then swallow a gun. Cheers, Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on October 18, 2005 11:39 PM
Does someone need a hug? If so, I'm sure Ace will lend you one of his, er, 'companions.' Posted by: Slublog on October 18, 2005 11:41 PM

Dave, Don't feel too bad, I just checked Ace's url and it said this thing is worth $0 too. So, it was a wild ride while it lasted, but all good things come to an end. I guess someone asked the bubble-popping question: "Who the hell would pay money for a blog?" Posted by: Enas Yorl on October 18, 2005 11:59 PM
It finally worked huh? Posted by: Bob on October 19, 2005 12:26 AM
I dunno. I think the thing is pretty spot on. Doesn't think my blog is worth a single penny (which is about as accurate as you can imagine). Posted by: Hal on October 19, 2005 12:36 AM
Hmm. It was supposed to calculate a value based on linkage. Since Ace was in six figures, I stuck in Instapundit, wondering if it would come up with a number more or less than the market cap of Google -- but it also came up $0. Posted by: cthulhu on October 19, 2005 12:36 AM
The thing does that. When I first tried it, it said every blog, including Instapundit and Daily Kos, was worth $0.00. Then today it gave different, non-zero numbers. I think it goes in and out. Posted by: ace on October 19, 2005 12:41 AM
hmm 0.00 for me as well. Good thing I'm going to a wine tasting dinner tomorrow night. I can drown my sorrows. lol Posted by: Mark on October 19, 2005 12:42 AM
Seems like a pretty volatile market. Best unload for any non-zero price I suspect. I'd take a buck cash money for mine. Posted by: Puprple Avenger on October 19, 2005 01:22 AM
You;ll never make money as long as you're spelling it Puprple! ... and yes, I'm leaving my own stupid typo in this post for irony. Posted by: Sortelli on October 19, 2005 01:33 AM
I think it goes in and out. That sounds like an accurate description to me! And any blog is only worth its virtual weight because of its readers. My calculator doesn't allow for that small a negative number and just barfs up a bunch of EEE's. : P Posted by: compos mentis on October 19, 2005 09:27 AM
I've managed to save up roughly $87181 in my bank account, but I'm not sure if I should buy a house or not. Do you think the market is stable or do you think that home prices will decrease by a lot? Posted by: Courtney Gidts on November 16, 2005 08:34 PM

"It's f**king f**ked."
-- reportedly a genuine comment offered by a "senior Labour source" Correction: I wrote that Labour is losing 88% (now 87%) of the seats it is "defending." I think that's wrong. The right way to say it is the seats they are contesting -- that is, they don't necessarily already hold these seats, but they have put up a candidate to run for the seat. It's still very bad but not as bad as losing 87% of the seats they already held. Basil the Great
"The end of the two party system in the UK" as first the Fake Conservatives and now Labour chooses political suicide rather than simply STOPPING THE INVASION
Incidentally, the only reason this didn't already happen in the US is because of the Very Bad Orange Man (who is right on 85% of all policy calls and extremely, existentially right on 15% of them)
No political party that is NOT also a doomsday religious cult would EVER choose a cataclysmic loss -- and possible extinction as a party -- to support a toxically unpopular favoritism of NON-CITIZEN ILLEGAL MIGRANTS over actual citizen voters.
Only a cult does this.
Now they've lost 84%.
Annunziata Rees-Mogg Update: They've now lost 88% of the seats they're defending. As I mentioned earlier, I think I heard that London will not bail them out, as many of those Labour seats will probably flip to "Muslim Independent" or Green. Detroit's 5am vote will not save them.
Yup, Labour is losing 80% of its seats...
The British Patriot Wow, up to 1700-2100 seats. It's not incredible that this is happening. It's incredible that the Davos crowd is so absolutely determined to privilege Muslim "migrants" over the actual native population who elects them, no matter how loudly the natives scream that they want to be prioritized, that they will gladly self-extinguish as a party rather than simply representing the interests of their own voters. Astonishing. Remember, when they call other people "cultists" -- they are the ones so imprisoned in their social reinforcement and discipline bubbles that they will choose political death rather than dare upset the Karen Enforcement Officers of their cult. Update: Now they've lost 83% of the seats they were defending. (((Dan Hodges))) Nick Lowles
STARMERGEDDON: In early returns, Reform gains 135 seats, Labour loses 90, the Fake Conservatives lose 36 (and I didn't even know they could fall any further), the Lib Dems lose 4, and the Greens gain 6. Note that the only other party gaining seats is the Greens and they're only gaining a handful of seats.
Update: Reform now up 145, Labour down 98. Labour projected to lose Wales -- where they've ruled for 27 years. Fulton County Georgia just discovered 400 boxes of ballots for Labour Update: REF +156, LAB -107, CON -45 Brutal: In four out of five council seats where Labour is defending, they've lost. 80%. I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens. REF +190, LAB -134, CON -56.
Updates on the Labour collapse in council elections -- which wags are calling #Starmergeddon -- from Beege Welborne. There are about 5000 seats up for grabs, Labour is expected to lose 1,800, Reform will probably gain 1,580, up from... zero. So this would be more than that.
People claim that while Labour has adopted the Sharia Agenda to appeal to the million Muslims it allowed to migrate to the country, those voters are ditching Labour to vote for the Muslim Independent Party or the Greens. Delicious. This shadenfreude is going straight to my thighs. Oh, and if Starmer loses about as badly as expected, Labour will toss him out of a window Braveheart style and replace him. He will announce he is resigning to spend more time with his Gay Ukrainian Male Prostitutes.
Media bias and senationalism are as old as, well, the media:
![]() That was written by Denny O'Neill and illustrated by, get this, Frank Miller. Editor to the Stars Jim Shooter was in charge at the time. I always thought the gag was original to the comic book, but in fact the "Threat or Menace" headline was a satirical joke about media bias and sensationalism for a long while. The Harvard Lampoon used it in a parody of Life magazine: "Flying Saucers: Threat or Menace?"

But here's the Illinois gerrymander he supports.
Big Bonus! Under the new Florida congressional map, Debbie Wasserman Schultz will probably lose her seat
