White Supremacists Riot In Ohio

That was ABCNews' headline for the story about the mayhem in Ohio.

There were Nazis. There were blacks. Obviously the MSM (and most other people) would like to pin the rioting on the Nazis.

Trouble was-- it wasn't them. Which was quite obvious to anyone watching the video feed of the rioting, unless one postulates that the Neo-Nazis' miniority outreach-and-recruitment efforts have been much more successful than previously reported.

Didn't stop ABCNews from running that headline anyway. They see the world as they wish it to be. Which is fine. Trouble is, they're in the information business, and they're trying to get you to see the world how they wish it to be, too.

It is impossible to have a sane discussion about race in this country. The rioters were mostly black; the video and eyewitness evidence proves that conclusively. But the MSM can't quite bring itself to actually say that. No one likes the neo-Nazi shitheads, so it's safer and less "combustible" to blame everything on them.

I'm sure that the MSM can provide some tortured rationale for this: that it was ultimately the fault of the neo-Nazis for making those poor inner-city youths go on a violent rampage. The youths themselves (oh, did we forget to mention they were black youths?), the poor lambs, were simply "acting out" their aggression in asocial ways. They can't be blamed for this; isn't it really society's fault?

Bah. You can believe me or not when I say I am not a racist -- being a middle-class white man apparently makes me a de facto racist no matter what I say. But the simple fact of the matter is that the rioters were mostly black, and were committing criminal acts for which the (mostly notional) "provocation" of the neo-Nazi march is no excuse.

It reminds me of a passage from Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451:

Colored people don't like Little Black Sambo? Burn it. White people don't feel good about Uncle Tom's Cabin? Burn it. Someone has written a book on tobacco and cancer of the lungs? Typo. Should've been "white supremacists' riot." They didn't do it, but they own it.

The really sad part of the national conversation on race that we're not having is that we're left with the impression that all persons of color are clustered down at the bottom of the scale. There's a growing black middle class, and I think I would be pretty crabby if I were one of them.

The radio report I listened to yesterday morning was very careful to avoid naming who was rioting. If I didn't know the story already, I would have guessed it was the Klan members that were rioting.

It is apparent that more and more people are seeing and understanding the distortion, deception, and deceit in the major media. Never in the past sixty years have I seen so many lies in the media. This is the way it was before the US Civil War and before WW2. The newspapers contributed greatly to the atmosphere of lies that created those wars.

Deceitful propaganda in the media is being practiced today not unlike it was then in Facist Europe and Communist Asia.

Correction: I wrote that Labour is losing 88% (now 87%) of the seats it is "defending." I think that's wrong. The right way to say it is the seats they are contesting -- that is, they don't necessarily already hold these seats, but they have put up a candidate to run for the seat. It's still very bad but not as bad as losing 87% of the seats they already held.

Wow, up to 1700-2100 seats. It's not incredible that this is happening. STARMERGEDDON: In early returns, Reform gains 135 seats, Labour loses 90, the Fake Conservatives lose 36 (and I didn't even know they could fall any further), the Lib Dems lose 4, and the Greens gain 6. Note that the only other party gaining seats is the Greens and they're only gaining a handful of seats.
Update: Reform now up 145, Labour down 98.

I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens.

Updates on the Labour collapse in council elections -- which wags are calling #Starmergeddon -- from Beege Welborne. There are about 5000 seats up for grabs, Labour is expected to lose 1,800, Reform will probably gain 1,580, up from... zero. So this would be more than that.
People claim that while Labour has adopted the Sharia Agenda to appeal to the million Muslims it allowed to migrate to the country, those voters are ditching Labour to vote for the Muslim Independent Party or the Greens. Delicious. This shadenfreude is going straight to my thighs.
Oh, and if Starmer loses about as badly as expected, Labour will toss him out of a window Braveheart style and replace him. He will announce he is resigning to spend more time with his Gay Ukrainian Male Prostitutes.

I always thought the gag was original to the comic book, but in fact the "Threat or Menace" headline was a satirical joke about media bias and sensationalism for a long while. The Harvard Lampoon used it in a parody of Life magazine: "Flying Saucers: Threat or Menace?"
