OU Bomber Was Jihadist (???)Okay, here's one of those admittedly-irresponsible bits of premature scuttlebutt that bloggers so frequently indulge in. Like, you know, claiming that 10,000 people died in the Katrina floods, and that a sunspot-burst of intense ultraviolet light mutated New Orlean's rats into three-foot-tall bipedal sexual-predator "ratmen" roaming the flooded streets on crude rafts armed with high-powered sniper rifles. Which the MSM would never, ever do. Unless Mayor Roy Nagin told them about the Ratman Rape Gangs. Take it with a grain of salt. And be on the lookout for a Spanish-speaking ratman answering to the name "Cholo," who can be identified by a gold-capped ratfang and extensive body-tatoos of Ponce De Leon sodomizing Andy "Matlock" Griffiths. Cholo hates Matlock. Well, it's a love/hate thing. With ratman sodomy. posted by Ace at 12:45 PM

I'm going to hazard a guess here before all the facts are in: This dude was a jihadist as much as Dylan Klebold was a Nazi. Both were really confused, screwed-up kids with that serial-killer-in-training kind of disposition. Posted by: Matt on October 4, 2005 01:32 PM

I'm waiting to see about the found 'Jihadist materials' as well. (I'm from OKC, just north of Norman, OK). The suicide bomber did have a scruffy, spoiled white kid, Jihadist beard, however, so I won't be too surprised if the rumor is true. Posted by: adolfo velasquez on October 4, 2005 01:55 PM
You don't find bomb-making diagrams and such in the Farm Journal. Posted by: spongeworthy on October 4, 2005 02:00 PM
Eh, maybe, but I doubt it. I saw the interview with his father, saw the picture of his brothers. They looked pretty normal to me (yes, he had the beard in that pic). The pic out on the web is a horrid one that really makes him look bad. His father sounded most believable when he said his son was not politcally motivated; just 'lost.' He was a loner three years into school, an engineer geek, and had not socialized very well. To quote from the father's interview http://www.channeloklahoma.com/news/5047816/detail.html "Hinrichs' father, Joel Hinrichs, Jr., said he's confident his son didn't intend to harm anyone and wasn't motivated by a political agenda. "He was pretty disengaged from politics," the father said Monday in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "And he took the care to select an open area where there was no one around." His son also had an interest in explosives, Hinrichs said. "Every little boy does that," he said. "He went a little further than most." Hinrichs said his son did not leave a suicide note and that FBI agents told him hydrogen peroxide was used to construct the bomb. On Sunday, FBI investigators searched the younger Hinrichs' Norman apartment and his family home in Colorado Springs, Colo. As a father, Hinrichs said he wants to believe that the explosion was an accidental death, but said the evidence clearly points to suicide. "He was checking out," Hinrichs said."
Yes, he lives near an mosque/Isamic center but then so do I…and there is a catholic church that is just as close. I don't buy the claim at this point in time. Could be wrong of course. This&That Posted by: This&That on October 4, 2005 02:19 PM
OTOH, ratmen love David Hasselhoff. Known fact. I heard Tom Mintier report that on CNN, I think. Posted by: utron on October 4, 2005 02:25 PM
As a father, Hinrichs said he wants to believe that the explosion was an accidental death, but said the evidence clearly points to suicide. ?!?!? The father wants an "incompetent bomb maker" legacy for the son rather than a garden variety depressed suicide? Oh wait - a lot of life insurance policies don't pay off on suicides... PA, I think most states say policies can have a waiting period on suicide (2 years) then kick in, reason being most folks who are suicidal don't plan it 2 years out. Posted by: Dave in Texas on October 4, 2005 03:06 PM
More rumor and scuttlebutt:
I was talking to a businessman the other day who mentioned to me what his friend, who happens to own a farm store, told him. Basically, this kid came into a feed store a couple of weeks ago and tried to buy all of the fertilizer in the store. All of it. Of course, the storeowner was entirely too smart to let him do it, and once the kid left he called the FBI. Apparently the FBI has been right on his tracks since then, always one step behind. If that actaully happened, then this kid was bent on a little more than self-destruction. I also heard throught the grapevine, several times removedrfom an original source, that this kid had some deeply felt and somewhat nutty antiwar political feelings in line with that "RAYBIN" kos kid (who got some attention the other day, having expressed an opion that rivers of blood needed to flow to effect a healthy change in America's political outlook.) "Apparently the FBI has been right on his tracks since then, always one step behind" should have been included in the blockquote. S. Posted by: SarahW on October 4, 2005 04:23 PM

I hope that's not true. If the FBI knew that some punk kid was trying to make bombs and they couldn't stop him, then that doesn't say too much about their competence. Posted by: Bob on October 4, 2005 06:36 PM
Hey Ace, I know you weren't interested when I sent this to you when it first happened, but it's getting better. Local CBS affiliate News 9 in OKC just did a report this afternoon that his room mate was Pakistani, he tried to buy ammonium nitrate before his death and their sources identify him as being seen at the Islamic center that's located just a block from his apartment. It's the same Islamic center that Nick Berg used to hang out in before he got his head sawed off in Iraq. Just a coincidence I guess. Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on October 4, 2005 06:44 PM
If anybody is interested in the OU bomber story that's about all I've been covering since Saturday. RE: NEIN, black helicopter crowd, but even a stopped watch is right once in awhile. Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on October 4, 2005 06:55 PM
I heard on the radio the other night that they pulled tons of "bomb making material" out of his apartment. Enough that it took them all day. I can't find confirmation though, so I'm still unsure. Of course I could just put a call into Ray Nagin and get him to certify that he had enough material to blow up "ten thousand football stadiums" and then get Wolf Blitzer to report it. Then I'd have all the confirmation I needed. Posted by: Apologist on October 4, 2005 07:28 PM

?!?!? The father wants an "incompetent bomb maker" legacy for the son rather than a garden variety depressed suicide? Uh, Purple, I think that a parent would rather not think of his own child as having voluntarily taken his own life, leaving them with questions like "what did we do?" It's much better to think that your kid wanted to live and was just unlucky. Posted by: Andrea Harris on October 4, 2005 09:55 PM
A lot of the quotes from the father seem "odd". O/T, but my blog got a mention on the local news. They did a segment on blogger reaction to the bombing. Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on October 4, 2005 10:50 PM
It's much better to think that your kid wanted to live and was just unlucky. *snort* Sure. If he "wanted to live", then what might he have had planned for that bomb? Run down that line of thought for a while and let us know how you make out. I've never heard of anyone "casually" taking their bombs out for a walk like you would a dog. I think I could live with the ordinary suicide scenario a lot easier than knowing I'd raised a terrorist/bomber/anarcho-freak. Unless the father was himself a terrorist/bomber/anarcho-freak in which case the suicide scenario would indeed be a disgrace. Posted by: Purple Avenger on October 5, 2005 12:22 AM
I'll admit to having a "keen interest in explosives". Hell, by the time I was 8 years old I'd absorbed everything there was in the Encyclopedia Britanica chapter on explosives. Growing up rural give you a lot of time to do things like absorb encyclopedias. The kids in town were all busy drinking, getting in trouble, or drowning themselves(while drunk) in one of the many local lakes. Lets face it, in a controlled environment they can be a LOT of fun AND quite a labor saving technology. Blowing stumps, trenching in soggy ground where you don't dare try getting a backhoe in, shattering inconvenient large rocks, etc. These are all vastly entertaining and useful applications. By the tender age of 12 I was well versed in the proper handling of cyanides and acids too. Growing up with the family in the electroplating business is not the normal path of child development I suppose, but it was an education in heavy industry and "dangerous shit" that few tykes ever get and I count myself very lucky for having experienced it. However --- not once have I ever considered strapping on a bomb and taking it for an evening stroll like this guy did. Posted by: Purple Avenger on October 5, 2005 12:40 AM
The local news reported this morning that the kid tried to by the "bombing" fertilizer a few days before the bombing. The clerk said he did not have any and the kid was not interested in any of the other types. There apparently was an undercover cop/FBI(?) guy at the store at the time, he heard the conversation & went out to record the kid's car's tag number. No comment from the cops on that. FBI said that there is no evidence that this kid is linked to terrorist or extreamist groups. Now OU is going to search each and every backpack/purse that goes into the games. And no one is going to be allowed to leave at half-time (and come back in) so that should piss off all the beer-sellers. This&That Posted by: This&that on October 5, 2005 08:12 AM
The "tried to buy Ammonium Nitrate" story is apparently correct. Here's a link to local coverage Posted by: SarahW on October 5, 2005 08:59 AM
More rumors: five other unexploded devices have been discovered, there was a sizable cache of explosives found in Hinrich's apartment Hinrich's Pakistani roommate is missing. Posted by: SarahW on October 5, 2005 09:16 AM
... it's just like regular sodomy, but with 50% more body hair involved. I thought that was just Andrew and his 'bear'. Posted by: scott on October 5, 2005 10:37 AM
Well, there IS a Pakistani roomate, who has a name, and he did frequent the nearby mosque. Article doesn't say where this fellow is now, but he wasn't "missing" at the time of the blast, because he and a couple of other mulsim guys were taken into custody shortly after the blast (and later released.) The Daily Oklahoman (registration required) reports: The FBI has reviewed surveillance tapes, interviewed acquaintances and checked Hinrichs’ purchases. Hinrichs dad said “Joe would have become a Muslim fanatic when pigs fly", but frankly I can see him trying to fit in somewhere, to win friends and influence people with his mad skillz at bombmaking. Maybe he just wanted to off himself, but I'm not sure I buy that simple explanation, since he tried to buy a large quantity of ammonium nitrate. At the least, even if you exclude any sort of ideology behind his asplodification, I think he wanted to take a few others with him into eternity. Posted by: SarahW on October 5, 2005 10:47 AM
...said to be girl trouble... Was said girl at the game? That would fit well with my false-flag op theory if she was. Posted by: Purple Avenger on October 5, 2005 01:44 PM

Few people remember that Norm MacDonald began his career as a ventriloquist
MacDonald's old partner Adam Egot revealed that MacDonald repurposed a bit with one of his ventriloquist dolls -- that he was a "bad guy" who "didn't believe the Holocaust happened" -- for the Norm MacDonald show, in which he claimed Egot didn't believe in the Holocaust. Funniest thing I've read about the Virginia mess. Back when they were hustling the referendum through the assembly both Senators, Warner and Kaine, advised them to go slow and play by the rules. Louise Lucas said she respected them but didn't need advice from the "cuck chair" in the corner. The gerrymandering was overturned and Louise is heading for the big house. Edward G. Robinson voice "where's your cuck now?" I posted his post on twitter and it's gotten 25K views so far. Thanks, Smell the Glove Chris

"It's f**king f**ked."
-- reportedly a genuine comment offered by a "senior Labour source" Correction: I wrote that Labour is losing 88% (now 87%) of the seats it is "defending." I think that's wrong. The right way to say it is the seats they are contesting -- that is, they don't necessarily already hold these seats, but they have put up a candidate to run for the seat. It's still very bad but not as bad as losing 87% of the seats they already held. Basil the Great
"The end of the two party system in the UK" as first the Fake Conservatives and now Labour chooses political suicide rather than simply STOPPING THE INVASION
Incidentally, the only reason this didn't already happen in the US is because of the Very Bad Orange Man (who is right on 85% of all policy calls and extremely, existentially right on 15% of them)
No political party that is NOT also a doomsday religious cult would EVER choose a cataclysmic loss -- and possible extinction as a party -- to support a toxically unpopular favoritism of NON-CITIZEN ILLEGAL MIGRANTS over actual citizen voters.
Only a cult does this.
Now they've lost 84%.
Annunziata Rees-Mogg Update: They've now lost 88% of the seats they're defending. As I mentioned earlier, I think I heard that London will not bail them out, as many of those Labour seats will probably flip to "Muslim Independent" or Green. Detroit's 5am vote will not save them.
Yup, Labour is losing 80% of its seats...
The British Patriot Wow, up to 1700-2100 seats. It's not incredible that this is happening. It's incredible that the Davos crowd is so absolutely determined to privilege Muslim "migrants" over the actual native population who elects them, no matter how loudly the natives scream that they want to be prioritized, that they will gladly self-extinguish as a party rather than simply representing the interests of their own voters. Astonishing. Remember, when they call other people "cultists" -- they are the ones so imprisoned in their social reinforcement and discipline bubbles that they will choose political death rather than dare upset the Karen Enforcement Officers of their cult. Update: Now they've lost 83% of the seats they were defending. (((Dan Hodges))) Nick Lowles
STARMERGEDDON: In early returns, Reform gains 135 seats, Labour loses 90, the Fake Conservatives lose 36 (and I didn't even know they could fall any further), the Lib Dems lose 4, and the Greens gain 6. Note that the only other party gaining seats is the Greens and they're only gaining a handful of seats.
Update: Reform now up 145, Labour down 98. Labour projected to lose Wales -- where they've ruled for 27 years. Fulton County Georgia just discovered 400 boxes of ballots for Labour Update: REF +156, LAB -107, CON -45 Brutal: In four out of five council seats where Labour is defending, they've lost. 80%. I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens. REF +190, LAB -134, CON -56.
Updates on the Labour collapse in council elections -- which wags are calling #Starmergeddon -- from Beege Welborne. There are about 5000 seats up for grabs, Labour is expected to lose 1,800, Reform will probably gain 1,580, up from... zero. So this would be more than that.
People claim that while Labour has adopted the Sharia Agenda to appeal to the million Muslims it allowed to migrate to the country, those voters are ditching Labour to vote for the Muslim Independent Party or the Greens. Delicious. This shadenfreude is going straight to my thighs. Oh, and if Starmer loses about as badly as expected, Labour will toss him out of a window Braveheart style and replace him. He will announce he is resigning to spend more time with his Gay Ukrainian Male Prostitutes.
Media bias and senationalism are as old as, well, the media:
