Even Kosmonauts Sickened By Cindy Sheehan's Self-Absorbed Starfucking

While some defend her remark about hurricane Rita being "just a little wind and a little rain," a lot of people seem to be seeing through her (as a personal matter; they still agree with her noxious politics, of course).

It's time more people figured out the idiot Sheehan. She has based her rants on "her son" and now we know she couldn't be bothered to rear him. She dumped him on her first husband who did an outstanding job in rearing him. I wondered why he was a patroitic American and she was a communist/terrorists supporter. Now we know the idiot had very little to do with his life, now she making her life out of his death. I guess the communist/terrorists supporters in D.C. were really disappointed when the American people were more concerned with the well being of thousands of fellow Americans who had their life turned upside down by the recent hurricane's than they're pitiful display of anti-americanism in D.C. Turns out it was not an anti-war protest, it was an anti-american protest backed by the slime of the world that live in the U.S.

Ms. Sheehan,

Your 15 minutes of fame are over - all your base are belong to us.

Posted by: Purple Avenger on September 27, 2005 02:43 AM

Scrapiron - do you have any cites for those particular allegations? I mean, this is the internet after all and you can't take seriously most of what you read, especially here (unless Ace is off on a D&D bender, then you can take it as geek gospel truth.)

Did this comment make the MSM? Did they report it at all?

Posted by: on September 27, 2005 09:23 AM

Oh, I like who ever called her on the time stamps.

Kosmonauts is good. But what about Kosmo-nuts?

Posted by: House of Payne on September 27, 2005 09:41 AM

scrapiron, ditto on Mikey's comment. I've never read or heard that about Sheehan.

Its time for sheehan and her bunch of 70s out of their minds peace freaks to go home and make themselves usful instead of being such pains in the backsides to the rest of us

Speaketh Snopes:

Casey was a man who thought for himself. Cindy is simply a selfish lunatic.

Posted by: rho on September 27, 2005 10:10 AM

Reading that site is alternatey infuriating and hilarious, yet never enlightening. I was really amused by the people who thought that was an appropriate comment. Cindy Sheehan, real class!

She is coming to speak here tomorrow. I wonder if I should attend her event? It's bound to be a place of civil discourse and rational thought!

Posted by: Steve on September 27, 2005 12:24 PM

rho tracked down the Snopes reference before I could. This story about Cindy Sheehan abandoning her son when he was a child is just false. There is no "first husband" - she's only had one, who is now in the process of divorcing her. I think she's always been a dingbat, but her family life seems to have been pretty regular until her son matured and was able to make his own choices in life. That seems to have really driven her crazy.

My wife is a liberal, Bush-loathing Democrat. She has been staunchly opposed to this war from Day One. She is also a mental health professional -- a trained and licensed psychotherapist and a social worker, specializing in grief and trauma counseling.

She came home today with a clipping of that picture of Cindy Sheehan being arrested (the one we've all seen.) Her first words upon entering our house tonight were (unprompted by me), "That's it, this woman's sick. She is using her son's death in a very sick way."

She has, in her career, worked with similar patients -- grieving parents, for example, for whom their grief has become self-identifying in a very unhealthy way.

What's different about Ms. Sheehan is that she has thousands of eager enablers, ready to showcase and exploit her grief at a moment's notice: "Come here, Ms. Sheehan. Give a talk there. Attend our rally here. Do this TV show. Do this radio show."

It's disgusting.

Again, I feel no personal animus towards her.

I do believe that she is a disturbed individual.

I also believe that her many new "friends" (Code Pink, Al Sharpton, George Galloway, etc.) are not her friends at all, but rather loathsome attention whores in their *own* right, who think no more of using and exploiting this woman's grief than she thinks of using and exploiting her own son's death.

Unlike Ms. Sheehan, however, they don't have an excuse.

I hope you're not just now reaching this conclusion. Most of us figured this out 20+ years ago.

Did you see the picture of the guy in California carrying the sign that said "I'm a Republican and Ashamed of this GOP"? Turns out he's probably a Democrat running a bit of a scam. Now Cindy Sheehan's diary gets linked on Michelle Malkin's site, and lo and behold there's all these posts saying "I used to really respect you but now I can't stand you." And a bunch of right wing bloggers crowing about how Cindy's followers are turning on her. Please. I thought her Hurricane Rita comments were off base, but they were hardly the stuff that suddenly makes everybody jump off the bandwagon. Do you really think Democrats are the only ones who try to pull this stuff? Probably the worst possible way to try and sample public opinion is to monitor the comments on blogs. Remember, as the cartoon says, "On the Internet nobody knows you're a dog."

Posted by: Chris on September 28, 2005 12:04 AM

Though, I disagree that the war is right I do agree that Cindy Sheehan is an attention whore and is exploiting her sons death.

Now. If that was me I would let everyone know that this isn't a time of laughing, or prancing around while people devoted songs to me and wrapped me in flags. Instead I'd let them know that this is a serious matter, an issue, that we cannot joke around about.

THis is about a war in Iraq, that we shouldn't be in and it is time to end this war.

THough, we may differ on our opinions of the war, I do agree that Cindy has abused her privilage of speaking to people.

Honestly, there should be zero political motivation in the anti-war protesting. THis isn't about Republicans or Democrats, its about a bullshit war for profit.

Understand something. When Cindy was on stage at the protest and accepted songs to her, accepted the flag being wrapped around her as if she was some person who should be praised I began doubting her and her motives.

When she was being carried away by police officers, smiling all the way, no matter what that was the end of any support I give her.

As for her comments on rita. Honestly, I wouldn't have put much thought into them. Anyone who does is just nitpicking.

I'm not defending the comments. They were idiotic imho but I think anyone who uses them as a bases of negative commenting about her is also idiotic thinking its a strong case for their negative remarks.

...I think anyone who uses them as a bases of negative commenting about her is also idiotic thinking its a strong case for their negative remarks.

We had much more substantive criticisms of her during her Crawford vigil - now we're just enjoying the slipups in her PR screen that show we were right.

Posted by: geoff on September 28, 2005 02:07 AM

Honestly, she comes off as a bumbling fool. =/

It is important that she speaks about missing her son and what not for the anti-war movement BUT unfortunately due to her being a .... well idiotic person, she isn't the proper person to be the *leader* she thinks she is for the anti-war movement.

Though, I do believe that most of America is against the war I don't believe that we can stop the war if this is the leader of the movement we use. =/

Oh yes. And I posted my views on her and her actions over at dailykos.com, where she posts, and mysteriously it has been deleted and is gone. =/

Posted by: AlanB on September 28, 2005 05:30 AM

=/

Posted by: Sortelli on September 28, 2005 07:44 AM

If you want to stop the war a rally isn't it. All you get are the usual gaggle of sixties retreads and attention starved freaks. You want to change US foreign policy? You know where Washington D.C. is? That big building with the round pointy top? Try there, try lobbying congress.

Of course, there isn't as much drama in being actually effective as opposed to marching about with a giant papier-mache puppet so I don't expect anyone to take that advice.

Morons band together because -- if they didnt -- intelligent people would eventually manipulate them out of existence.

Therefore, the band of morons here must represent the stupidest motherfuckers in the universe.

Pull your heads off Newt's dick and observe the real world once in a while.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
