Saudi Prince Buys Big Chunk of FOXNews

5.46%, and that's not peanuts.

And this was the guy who tried to buy Rudy Giuliani, too, by offering him a $10 million check after the 9/11 attacks while simultaneously blaming the attacks on American foreign policy.

I don't think this guy bought up FoxNews stock to influence their coverage of the partial-birth abortion debate.

The Saudis buy reporters.

The Syrians BLOW THEM UP:

Bomb targets Lebanon TV anchor
A Lebanese television journalist has been seriously wounded by a bomb blast in her car north of the capital Beirut.
May Chidiac, a news anchor for the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC), was taken to hospital and said to be in a critical condition.

LBC, a Christian-owned TV station, is reputed to be one of the most prominent anti-Syrian media outlets in Lebanon.

Beirut has seen a wave of recent blasts, including one that killed former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Leg and arm amputated

Ms Chidiac is well-known for hosting political programmes.

LBC said the bomb had been planted under the driver's seat of her Range Rover and exploded when she turned on the car's ignition.

The station said she had had an arm and a leg amputated.

Several other political figures and members of the public have been killed in bombings since Mr Hariri's death in February.

In June, two prominent anti-Syrian figures were killed in separate bombs.

In July, Elias Murr, defence minister in both the outgoing pro-Syrian cabinet and the incoming pro-Syrian one, was wounded in a bomb blast.

Street protests and international pressure following Hariri's death led Syria to withdraw thousands of troops it had stationed in Lebanon as part of a deal ending years of civil war.

Fox will change its name to: The Saudi Scrotum Suckling network.

Posted by: Jauhara on September 26, 2005 06:00 PM

Can't remember where I read it, but I recall something about this guy suggesting he would buy a bunch of Fox stock to help protect it against a hostile takeover bid.

Of course, in the vein of Jauhara's comment, that could have been "protect" as in "nice little cable news channel you've got here . . . it'd be terrible if anything were to happen to it."

For folks who tend to do their research this whole story is rather sloppy. First of all, one can't buy stock in Fox News. One can buy stock in News Corp, of which Fox News represents somewhere in the neighborhood of 5% of the companies value (all their networks are 11% of FY05 revenue). Second of all, between Murdoch and John Malone (via Liberty Media), they have majority voting control of the company. Something tells me Malone, who is a vocal libertarianm, won't exactly cede control to some saudi.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
