Hey,

I am so cool! Thanks for the heads-up.

Posted by: jake jacobsen on September 22, 2005 03:31 PM

I'll admit to being a Buffy, Angel, and Serenity fan. That is, until, I found the Whedon-fans-for-Kerry website. It was a website for assholes, by assholes.

Whedon, and many of his show's stars would make guest appearances and talk-up Kerry. Nathan Fillion, a fecking Canadian, took part in the stoopid Kerry blog.

So...fuck Whedon and the horse he rode in on.

Posted by: Bart on September 22, 2005 04:30 PM

Serenity/Firefly is a damned good TV/movie and doesn't beat you over the head with liberal crap, so if Whedon and Fillion want to be idiots on their own time and give me good quality entertainment, then so be it.

If I boycotted everything written or performed by people who are good actors/writers/directors/etc. but political idiots off-screen, I'd have nearly nothing to watch. As long as I don't get beaten over the head with idiocy while watching the show/movie, then that's fine.

Along the same line, in the past (and currently) I liked some of the Ben & Jerry flavors, so I bought it. If they want to be idiots with their money, that's fine, at least I got some good ice cream out of the deal. The fact that they sold out to a soulless global corporation is only icing on the cake, so to speak.

Did you though?

BEN & JERRY'S DIOXIN SCANDAL

The study shows that the level of dioxin in a sample serving of one variety of Ben & Jerry's ice cream is about 2,200 times greater than the level of dioxin allowed in wastewater discharged into San Francisco Bay from the nearby Tosco oil refinery.

Mmmm good.

Posted by: Tony on September 22, 2005 04:44 PM

Maybe the extra dioxin makes it taste soooo good.

Posted by: Harry Callahan on September 22, 2005 04:50 PM

Harry. Harry. Harry!
How can I, in good and proper conscience, monetarily support someone who is not only diametrically opposed to my socio-political ideology but also thinks I am a mouth-breathing-cretin for MY politics?

And Ben & Jerrys sucks. It does. Plus, they donate money to douche bags such as moveon and george soros. Why would why want to donate, by extension, to those fuckers?

Every time I hear a moonbat speak, be it Alec Baldwin or Greenday, I really believe they are emboldening our enemies (because they are saying the same things as our enemies) and undermining our foriegn policy.

So...again...fuck them.

Yes. Of course I am a hypocrite. I own CDs by many alternative bands. But I only buy the CDs on sale or used DAMMIT!

Posted by: Bart on September 22, 2005 04:56 PM

Hey, Tony, you left out one key part of the article:

Gough and co-author Steven Milloy of Junkscience.com believe that existing scientific evidence does not credibly link low levels of dioxin exposure with human health effects. In fact, they are careful to specify that they do not believe that Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is dangerous to human health.

The study is about the idiocy of the EPA's regulatory efforts, not Ben & Jerry's, or ice cream.

Posted by: Harry Callahan on September 22, 2005 04:56 PM

While Whedon is a Hollywood Commie, and Ben & Jerrys does donate to moveon.org, I consider giving them money to be an investment in the funny. Every dollar MoveOn gets results in a new bizzareness (Jeff Gannon, Cindy Sheehan, George Galloway) to make fun of. And it's not like the Democrats are in much danger of winning any elected office with Soros/DU/Kos steering them, so it's ultimately harmless fun.

I guess my screeching moonbat immitation needs some work eh?

Most of my CD collection comes from pawn shops or was ummm liberated from the forces of capitalist oppression, yea that's it - LIBERATED.

Tony:

Ah. I see now!

Have you stolen your own copy of Abbie Hoffman's "Steal This Book"?

Posted by: Harry Callahan on September 22, 2005 05:27 PM

I liked Roswell.

Liberated from capitalistic oppression?
Arrg, spoken like a true pirate, arrrrg.

That's me, by the way.

Posted by: Bart on September 22, 2005 06:44 PM

Have you stolen your own copy of Abbie Hoffman's "Steal This Book"?

*frown* "stolen" is such a harsh judgmental word.

I prefer to use more politically correct terms like "re-tasked", "alternatively-deployed", and "optimally-reallocated" when I steal shit. It helps me keep my self esteem up you know.

Posted by: Tony on September 22, 2005 06:57 PM

Please tell me Ronald Moore isn't also a moonbat.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
